Painting with acrylic paints. How to paint Christmas balls with your own hands What paint to paint Christmas balls

Buy ordinary plastic round toys, a brush, acrylic materials: contours, paints in the store. And start implementing your bold ideas.

Applying swirls with acrylic paint using your fingers.

Apply a few drops of acrylic paint of different colors to the surface of the ball. Use your finger to smear it in a circular motion. It should look like curls. First make a pattern on the first half of the ball and let it dry. Finish painting on the other side.

A beautiful pattern on New Year's balls with a hard brush.

Dip the tips of a hard brush into the paint. Pinch the bristles with your fingers closer to the ends, flattening the brush itself a little. This method will increase the captured area when applying strokes. Run the brush over the ball using rough strokes.

The most effective combination is when strokes of gold or silver paint are attractively drawn on a dark ball.

Painting a ball using a sponge stencil.

First you need to make a stencil from a sponge. Cut it into any shape, dip it in gold or silver acrylic paint. Now stamp it (place stamps) on the surface of the ball. Decorate the entire ball.

If you use two colors, you can make a small overlap of one stencil on the other. Leave the ball to dry. Apply a random pattern using an acrylic outline.

Decorating a New Year's ball with acrylic relief (volumetric) paste.

An ordinary ball can be decorated with relief paste. This is done very simply. Using your fingers, apply the voluminous paste to the top of the ball, where the loop would normally be located. Apply the paste to form a mound. Leave to dry. Once the paste hardens, paint with an acrylic outline, applying any pattern.

If you are not satisfied with the white color of the paste, then you can color it with a different color of paint (necessarily acrylic). By adding blue or cyan paint, you will get the snow effect like on old postcards.

Decorate the balls with acrylic contour paint.

Acrylic contours are a godsend for quickly and easily decorating New Year's balls. They apply inscriptions and any patterns. The thickness of the contour depends on the spout in the tube, and it varies and depends on the manufacturer. Contour painting can be combined with other techniques for decorating Christmas tree balls.

This master class is dedicated to a Christmas tree ball, which is made in Decoupage technique.

For the New Year's painted ball we will need:

  • plastic ball;
  • napkin with a New Year's pattern;
  • scissors with a thin blade;
  • sponge;
  • thin brush for paints;
  • fan tassel;
  • synthetic brush for varnish;
  • white construction paint;
  • whitewash;
  • acrylic paints;
  • pearlescent acrylic paints;
  • sandpaper;
  • PVA glue;
  • decoupage varnish;
  • container with water;
  • contours on glass;
  • silver sparkles;
  • a stick to hold the ball;
  • decorative ribbon 2.5 cm wide;
  • narrow silver ribbon 1 cm wide;
  • Lurex thread;
  • pin;
  • glue "Moment";
  • semolina.

From a variety of napkins, choose any one you like with a pattern that suits your ball size.

We cut out the necessary fragments from a three-layer napkin.

Before applying the pattern to the ball, it must be primed; we will do this with white construction paint using a sponge. We prime the ball with five layers and be sure to dry each applied layer. You can speed up the drying process with a hairdryer.

To make it convenient to hold the ball while painting, we recommend putting it on any stick or old knitting needle. We cover the ball twice with acrylic white paint - whitewash. Let's dry it.

The surface of the ball should be smooth, without roughness that could tear the thin layer of napkin when gluing.

We wipe the ball from “colorful” dust. Prepare the glue by diluting the PVA with water 1:1. Separate the top layer from the cut out fragments.

We apply it to the ball and glue it with a fan brush. Fill the Christmas tree ball with New Year's motifs and wait for it to dry.

We cover the motif with varnish. Dry with a hairdryer. We look at what colors are present in the pattern and select paints. We cover the boy's T-shirt, ribbon, envelope and the bear's eyes with blue. We shade the gift box and glove with green mother-of-pearl.

So that the glued plot from a napkin does not seem like an appliqué, we paint. We apply red paint, thereby making this color in the drawing juicy.

We use yellow mother-of-pearl to shade the ribbons on gift boxes and everything else where it is present. From the photo you can see how the drawing is transformed, it becomes realistic.

Using brown pearlescent paint we paint the hairs on the teddy bear, creating the illusion of volume.

For the background we need blue paint, to obtain it, mix white and blue paints. We paint over the ball; in hard-to-reach places, be careful not to cover up the illustration.

New Year's decoupage- the most fabulous decor of objects. While our ball is drying, we mix the snow. In a small jar, mix PVA glue, whitewash, and semolina. We add white paint to semolina snow wasn't beige.

Stir thoroughly and see what is missing, the composition of the snow should be the consistency of sour cream, in which there is a spoon. Since our ball is made in blue, white snow will not go well with it, so we add a little blue paint to it, which should have been left over from the background.

Having mixed well, apply it in a thin layer to the bottom of the ball, pretending that the boy and the teddy bear are standing in the snow.

We try to ensure that the snow falls in an uneven layer and slightly resembles snowdrifts.

On the wrong side of the ball, on a blue background, we make small snowflakes, simulating falling snow. For greater expressiveness of the entire “winter story” we take gold, red and green contours with glitter on glass. We paint the ball with them, creating shine and volume to things.

We coat our miracle ball with varnish twice. Dry with a hairdryer.

To make the snow sparkle and shimmer more, we take out silver sparkles, dip the tip of a thin brush in decoupage varnish and dry glitter, quickly transfer it to the ball, trying to distribute them so that there is no heap. You can silver the colorful image itself a little, but the main thing is not to overdo it! Apply another thin layer of varnish and let dry.

We cut 35-37 cm from a decorative ribbon with metal inclusions, 20 cm from a narrow silver one, fold it into a bow and fasten it with a pin.

Meanwhile, we fold the lurex thread three times with a total length of 25 cm, cut it off and secure the folded bow with it. We hide the end of the thread and cut it off.

Glue the bow to the balloon pendant. Hot melt glue or super “Moment” are suitable for this purpose.

New Year's ball using the decoupage technique.

Thanks to the technology decoupage", any nondescript object can be made original and inimitable.

Snow ball!

Balls made in the same style will be a wonderful decoration for a New Year's fairy tree.

Christmas ball with snow, made using the ancient decoupage technique!

Handmade has always been in price and a ball, decorated with your own hands, can become a wonderful, welcome souvenir for the New Year.
A personalized souvenir of the year in the form of an animal will become unnecessary next year, and Christmas ball will last for many years to come. You can make a tradition, make a balloon every year and write the date on it. In a few years, you will have a priceless collection of such hand made balls.

New Years is soon! We invite you to learn how to paint Christmas tree balls yourself. After all, there is nothing better than exclusive hand-painted Christmas tree decorations!

For this you will need:

acrylic paint for glass and ceramics “Decola”, acrylic primer, contours on glass or fabric “Decola”, thin brushes, sponge, a little skill in painting with paints.

Let's take a Christmas ball without a pattern.

Then, using a sponge, apply white acrylic paint (or acrylic primer) to the entire ball using gentle tamponing movements.

We hang the painted ball to dry. Acrylic paints dry quickly, so within an hour and a half our ball is ready for painting.

If the acrylic coating turns out to be transparent, coat the ball with white acrylic paint twice.

So, the ball is ready for painting. Let's draw a drawing on the ball with a simple pencil. Pencil marks are clearly visible on the white acrylic coating. You can take the drawing from any postcard, napkin, or come up with it yourself. I draw a funny snowman in a hat near the Christmas trees. I saw the drawing on a napkin and I really liked it!

After the outline of the drawing is drawn in pencil, we begin to color the drawing using acrylic contours on the glass. The contours on the fabric also fit very well on the glass.

The outline on glass or fabric can be used with or without a nozzle (then acrylic paint from a tube can be applied with a brush). I outline the design on the glass with a nozzle and fill the outlined space with the same acrylic paint using a brush. Acrylic paints can be mixed on a palette or in a small jar, or diluted with water.

So, using a brush, I filled the snowman's hat and mittens with red acrylic paint, and yellow - the bow. While the paint on the snowman’s hat and mittens is drying, I outline the Christmas trees with a green outline with a nozzle. Now I paint the branches of the fir trees with a thin brush.

We apply the paint gradually, filling the fields of the same color or shade. For example, while I am painting fir trees, the rest of the painted fields are drying.

I will paint snowballs on the Christmas trees with white acrylic, and Christmas tree decorations with red acrylic.

I will paint shadows on the snowman and fir trees with a brush, mixing blue and white paint. I’ll finish using black acrylic to trace the outline of the snowman with a brush and draw the “face.”

The finishing touches remain and the snowman is ready. Try, fantasize and don’t be afraid to ruin anything, because painting with acrylic paints can fix everything!

Painting a Christmas ball - New Year's house

Perhaps the most common form of Christmas tree decoration is a ball. Traditionally, the Christmas tree is decorated with balls of different sizes, but of the same color scheme, or, conversely, they take balls of the same size, but different colors that match each other. But every year it becomes more and more popular to make New Year's toys with your own hands. That is why we will learn how to make ball-shaped Christmas tree decorations using a variety of needlework techniques!

Balls made of beads, buttons and threads

One of the easiest ways to decorate New Year's balls with your own hands is to paste them with threads or decorative cords. To make the ball look more festive, take a string of beads along with the cord and glue them, alternating with each other.

Balls of buttons and pasta

Even children can glue colorful buttons onto balloons, and all you have to do is admire the result and help them a little if necessary)

And instead of buttons, you can glue pasta or coins, and you will get the most unusual New Year's balls with your own hands!

Wrap the foam or any other ball in gold foil to mask the gaps. Alternatively, after gluing the small parts, the entire ball can be painted with gold spray paint.

Balls of thread

Making balls from threads is also not at all difficult. An ordinary ball is taken as a basis (you can use an old Christmas tree decoration, from which, for example, the paint has peeled off in places) and wrapped with knitting threads. Show a little creativity and it will turn into a ball-ball! Knitting needles are made from toothpicks and a couple of wooden beads.

Another method is based on the use of a balloon, which is wrapped with threads smeared in PVA glue. You can wind the threads in any order, and at the end it won’t hurt to coat the entire surface with glue again.

After the glue has dried, pierce the balloon and carefully remove it, and decorate the finished ball of thread with a festive bow.

Paper balls

To make this cute paper ball, all you need is pretty paper and glue.

Felting balls is another interesting way to create a unique Christmas tree decoration with your own hands!

You can felt wool balls in two ways: one is called dry felting, and the other is wet felting) The result is equally good if everything is done correctly.

Painting balls

And finally, another simple way to decorate Christmas balls is painting. It is made using a gel with glitter of various colors.

Take a suitable color and draw whatever comes to your mind) By the way, involve children in this activity, they will be delighted!

We hope that from the variety of options offered, you will choose one or more suitable ones for yourself, and your Christmas tree will be decorated with exclusive handmade New Year's balls!

Happiness and creative success in the New Year!!!

Factory-made Christmas tree decorations are found in almost every home. They are certainly very beautiful and, when combined well with other decorations in the house, can cause a decent aesthetic effect. But just buying New Year's balls is boring. Uniqueness can only be achieved by decorating New Year's balls with your own hands.

Christmas balls made of threads

The method of making balls from threads has long been used. The products are spectacular and lend themselves to additional decoration. It is possible to vary the size.

To make it you will need: threads (with a large percentage of natural fibers in the composition for good impregnation with glue), PVA glue, a disposable glass, round balloons.
Manufacturing stages:

  • Prepare glue for work. Dilute very thick mixture to the consistency of sour cream.
  • Inflate the balloon to the desired size of the toy.
  • Soak 1 meter pieces of thread in glue.
  • Wrap using the “gossamer” method so that the free holes do not exceed a diameter of 1 cm.
  • Allow the glue to dry (12 to 24 hours).
  • Remove the ball from the product by carefully bursting it and removing it through the hole of the ball.
  • Decorate the product. For this they use: glitter, paper cuttings of various shapes, sequins, beads, semi-beads, etc. Products made from threads can also be painted with paint from a can or acrylic. Watercolor and gouache are not suitable, as they can soak the product and lead to its spoiled appearance.

Having made New Year's balls of different diameters, you can decorate any corner of the house with them: a Christmas tree, candlesticks, compositions in a vase, on a windowsill, etc. Balloon decor can be done like this: place a light garland on a tray and place items of different sizes but the same color on top. When the garland is turned on, they will be illuminated and create an interesting effect.

From beads

Balls made of beads will look very beautiful and impressive on the Christmas tree. In this case, the foam spheres of the blanks will be decorated. In addition to the foam blank, you will need beads, pins (sewing needles with heads like those on nails), and ribbon.

The manufacturing method is very simple:

  • Thread one bead onto one pin.
  • Attach a pin to the foam base.
  • Repeat until there is no free space left on the base.
  • At the end, attach a ribbon loop for hanging the decoration.

It is advisable to take beads of the same size to avoid empty spaces on the base. The color scheme is chosen both in one tone and in different ones. It all depends on individual preferences and the overall style of decorating the room.
Instead of a foam base, you can use plastic factory balls. Only in this case the beads will be attached not with pins, but with hot-melt glue.

From buttons

Balls made of buttons will look no less original and unique on the Christmas tree. Old unnecessary buttons do not have to be selected in the same color scheme. After all, you can always repaint them and achieve the desired shade. They look impressive in gold, bronze, silver shades, as well as all colors with metallic coating.

To make this decor for New Year's balls, you will need: buttons (can be with through fastening or hidden), hot melt adhesive, foam or plastic blank, ribbon.

  • Apply a small amount of hot glue to the inside of the button.
  • Attach the button to the base.
  • Carry out the steps in step 2 until the entire surface is covered with buttons.
  • Attach a ribbon so that the ball can be hung.

When placing them on the tree, you need to make sure that there are not too many of them concentrated in one place. It is better to dilute such decorations with others.

From paper

Original New Year's balls can be made simply from paper, without using any base.

Ball of colored paper

To do this you will need thick (approximately 120 g/m2) paper, scissors, pins, and tape. Making the blank yourself is very simple.

  • Cut 12 strips of paper measuring 15 mm x 100 mm
  • Fasten all the strips on one side and the other with pins, retreating from the edge by 5-10 mm.
  • Spread the strips in a circle, forming a sphere.
  • Attach the ribbon to the base of the ball.

The strips can be cut not straight, but with other uneven lines. You can use curly scissors.

Corrugated paper

Corrugated paper will also come in handy. Pom-pom balls are created from it. For this you will need: corrugated paper, glue, scissors, tape.

  • If the paper is new and packaged, then measure 5 cm from the edge and cut it off. Then measure 5 cm again and cut off.
  • Cut two blanks into a “scallop” with an interval of strips of 1 cm without cutting to the base 1.5 cm.
  • Unravel one piece and begin to twist it into a “flower” in a circle, gradually gluing it together. You will get a fluffy pompom. Repeat the same steps with the second workpiece.
  • Connect two pompom blanks with glue at the gluing site. You will get a fluffy ball. Attach a loop tape to the gluing area. Fluff the resulting pompom.

Made from double-sided colored paper

You can also make a ball from double-sided colored paper. To do this you need: colored paper, scissors, glue, a round object (a cup, for example), tape.

  • Trace the cup on paper 8 times. You will get 8 equal circles. Cut them out.
  • Fold each circle into quarters.
  • Cut an additional circle with a smaller diameter.
  • Glue the blanks to it with the corners to the center on one side (4 pieces will fit), and on the other side the same.
  • Open each fold and glue it together at the joint. You will get a ball with “petals”.
  • Attach the ribbon.

Paper balls, as a rule, do not last long and are used for one season. You shouldn’t place them in large numbers on the tree; it’s better to “dilute” them with other decorations.

From fabric

If you have an old blouse in your closet that you hate to throw away, then not recycling it was the right decision. You can make a cute Christmas tree toy from it. For production you need: knitted fabric, scissors, sewing needle and thread, cardboard, tape.

  • Cut the longest strips of fabric 1 cm wide. Stretch each strip so that it curls the edges.
  • Cut cardboard measuring 10 cm x 20 cm.
  • Wind the resulting strips onto the cardboard along the width.
  • In the center on one side and the other, connect the strips with a needle and thread. Pull out the cardboard.
  • Cut the resulting loops along the edges.
  • Fluff and attach the ribbon.

There is another method that involves decorating a foam or plastic blank with cloth. You need any fabric (can be of different colors), hot glue, scissors.

  • Cut the fabric into rectangular pieces measuring 3 cm x 4 cm.
  • Fold them like this: fold the two top corners towards the center of the bottom.
  • Glue to the workpiece in rows, with curves inward, starting from the bottom.
  • Cover the entire ball. Attach the ribbon.

Fabric appliqués can be made in a variety of ways, using additional improvised means - beads, braid, rhinestones, ribbon.

With embroidery

Decorating New Year's balls with your own hands is also possible in this way. Decorating Christmas tree decorations with embroidery has become a new trend. To do this, use a pre-embroidered image. You also need fabric, a piece of foam or plastic, and hot glue.

  • Attach the embroidered image using glue.
  • Decorate the remaining area of the ball with a fabric appliqué.

Instead of appliques, you can use the same fabric on which the embroidery was made. Alternatively, you can make a pattern from fabric, where one of the parts will be embroidery. You can also decorate each part of the pattern with separate embroidered images and secure them. After these steps, you can additionally add beads, rhinestones, sparkles, and sequins as decoration.

With filling

Such specimens will look spectacular both on the Christmas tree and as part of balloon compositions. To make unusual balls, you need to stock up on transparent plastic blanks.

By opening the cap holder, you can create various compositions inside:

  • Pour acrylic paint of different colors inside, shake the ball so that all the inner walls are painted, and let dry. The pigment will color the inside of the workpiece and it will acquire a unique color.
  • Fill the inside with small colored feathers and beads.
  • You can also pour confetti of different colors inside.
  • Pieces of old tinsel are used for filling.
  • Favorite photos are also placed inside. To do this, you need to twist a small photo into a tube (look at the diameter of the ball) and straighten it inside. Add confetti or sequins.
  • The interior is filled with colored cotton wool and complemented with beads. You can choose different colors. It is better to paint with acrylic paint. Fill after the cotton wool has completely dried.
  • Multi-colored sisal can be placed inside and enjoy the color and originality of the decoration.

Fantasies about filling a transparent ball can be different. They all relate to personal preferences and mood during needlework.
