Preparation

Cut the chicken into small pieces and fry in hot vegetable oil over high heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Fry in small portions so that a crust appears on the meat faster, which will prevent the juice from escaping and the chicken will be juicier and softer. Salt to taste and stir.

Add onion, garlic and pepper to the meat. Fry over medium heat for about 3 minutes.

Any burrito recipe begins, of course, with a flatbread. And in order for our dish to be as Mexican as possible, we will not replace tortillas (as the Mexicans call tortillas) with lavash, but we will bake them ourselves. So let's get started!

We take two and a half glasses of flour, a glass of hot water, 50 g of fat (butter or margarine), a teaspoon of salt. Pour two glasses of flour and salt into a deep bowl, then stir in the fat and knead it thoroughly with your hands, mixing with flour. Pour in a glass of hot water (not boiling water!), While stirring the dough well with a fork, transfer it to the table and continue kneading, gradually adding the remaining flour. The dough should be docile and not very steep. We cover it with foil and leave it for half an hour to rest. After that, knead the dough a little more and divide it into pieces the size of a tennis ball. Roll them into thin cakes, which we bake in a dry frying pan for about thirty seconds, until brown specks appear. As they bake, stack the cakes in a slide, shifting them with parchment sheets. Wrap the finished cakes in foil to avoid drying out, then it will be easy to wrap the filling in them. Whichever burrito recipe you choose, this kind of cake is perfect for it.

Now let's start preparing the filling, and so that you have plenty to choose from, we will give two options.

It's time to add the chopped tomatoes. Mix everything and fry for 2-3 minutes.

Next, add the chopped parsley. Burrito will not be so fragrant and beautiful without greenery! Stir and simmer a little - 2-3 minutes. That's it, the filling for the burrito is ready. Now the most important thing: the filling of the burrito cakes.

Rolling burritos deserves special attention. I tried to make it as clear as possible. We unfold the pita bread (or a tortilla cake), put the filling in the middle, which needs to be cooled a little. Cover with lavash on top and pull to the edge. Then we wrap the edges on the right and left and fold them up with an envelope. Next, we wrap the whole pita bread completely. Burrito is ready.

We also make all the pita bread. Sprinkle the burrito on top with grated cheese. And we send it to the oven or microwave (it is possible with the grill function - this way the cheese will turn out to be more ruddy).

We take out the burrito from the microwave (or oven). On top we apply a pattern with mayonnaise and ketchup.

Recipe 2: Mexican turkey burrito with cheese

  • 200 gr. Turkey fillet
  • 2 pcs. Tortilla
  • 50 gr. Greens
  • 80 gr. Tomato puree
  • 50 gr. Cheese
  • Pepper
  • 80 gr. Beans
  • 50 gr. Bulb
  • Chili powder

Remove the veins from the meat and cut into small, oblong pieces.

After that, it is necessary to fry the chicken pieces together with finely chopped garlic, until the meat appears golden brown.

Once the turkey fillet has reached the desired color, you need to add red beans and chili peppers to it. You can also add some other spices, such as half a teaspoon of curry.

Add chopped bell pepper to this, simmer the resulting mass for 5 minutes and add 200 grams of tomato paste.

Simmer the resulting mixture for 5-10 minutes and add finely chopped greens.

Once our burrito filling is ready, we need to put it on the tortillas or pita bread and wrap it in the form of envelopes.
