  • Only fully ripe crops are harvested. Overripe and unripe onions lie poorly in the cellar.
  • Pick a dry and sunny day for cleaning.
  • The bulbs do not need to be strongly pulled by the tops. They need to be dug a little, trying not to damage the bottom, and then carefully pulled out of the ground. It is forbidden to hit the onion heads against each other, shaking off the ground, as they can be damaged.
  • The entire crop must be sorted out. Only well-ripened, healthy and strong specimens are suitable for storage in the cellar. They will keep better. Damaged, diseased and suspicious bulbs are discarded.
  • Drying is carried out. This can be done by spreading vegetables in 1 layer under a canopy in a dry, warm enough, well-ventilated place. This process needs 10-14 days.
