And so they both intercede for him.”

It is known from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “People do not gather in one of the houses of Allah to read the Book of Allah and study it together without peace being sent down on them and they were not covered with mercy and were not surrounded by angels; Allah will remember everyone who was there.”

Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A Muslim who reads the Qur'an is like a citrus - it has a pleasant smell and taste; and the believer who does not read the Quran is like a date - there is no aroma, but the taste is sweet.”

Abu Hurayrah reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Will any of you, when he returns to his family, find three huge fat camels there?” We answered yes. Ibn Abbas said: "While Jabrail was sitting next to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), he heard a sound from above and, raising his head, said:" This is the door from heaven opened, which has never been opened, but only today ". And an angel descended from it, and he said: "This is an angel descended to earth, which never descended, but only today." And, greeting, the angel said: "Announce with two lights that were sent down to you and no prophet before you - "Fatiha" of the Qur'an and the end of the sura "Cow", you will never read a single letter of them, except in those provided to you." Abu Sa'id ibn al-Ma'la said: "When I was praying, the Prophet called me and I didn't answer him. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, because I prayed." He said: "Does not Allah say: (Obey Allah and His Messenger when he calls you)." Then he said: "Shall I not teach you the greatest surah of the Qur'an before you leave the mosque?" Then he took my hand, and when we wanted to leave, I reminded: "O Messenger of Allah, truly you said that you would definitely teach me the greatest sura of the Qur'an." He said: (Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds), this is the first chapter of the Qur'an and the noble Qur'an that has been sent down to me."

And the uncle of Kharij ibn as-Salta said that when he passed by the tribe, he was told: "Verily, you came with good from This Man. Remove the spell from one of our fellow tribesmen!" And they brought him to a man who was in the fetters of dementia. And he reprimanded him with the first surah of the Qur'an for three days in the mornings and evenings, and every time he finished, he spat, and after that the shackles seemed to fall from the patient. They gave him something for it. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and told him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Eat, and I swear by the one who ate for the false spell that you have already eaten for the true cure."

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) also told how a group of companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by Maa and one of the inhabitants of Maa appeared in front of them, who asked: “Is there a healer among you by reading? there is a stung man in Maa." After that, one of the group went after him and read the surah "al-Fatiha" to the one who needed it, and he recovered, who read the Koran brought the ram handed to him to his companions. However, they did not want this, saying: "You took a reward for the Book of Allah." When they arrived in Medina, they reported: "O Messenger of Allah, he took a reward for the Qur'an", to which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "Verily, the most worthy of what you took a reward for is Allah's book."

Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever performs a prayer without reading the First Sura of the Qur'an in it, he will not fulfill the main part of the prayer." He repeated this three times and added that such a prayer would be imperfect. Abu Hurairah objected: “We will follow the Imam,” to which he replied: “Read it to yourself, truly, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:“ Allah Almighty said: “I divided the prayer between Me and My servant into two halves, and My servant will get what he asks. And if the slave says - praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Allah Almighty will say - My servant praised me. And if he says - to the Merciful, Merciful, Allah Almighty will say - My servant gave me praise. And if he says - The Lord of the Day of Judgment, He will say - My servant exalted me. And if he says - We worship You and ask You for help, He will say - this is divided between Me and My slave, and the slave What he asks will be given to Mine, and if he says - Lead us in the right way, the way of those to whom You have shown favors, not those with whom You have been angry and not lost. He will say that this is for My servant, and My servant is given will be what he asks."

Abu ibn Kaab said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) narrated the words of the Almighty: "Allah did not send down in either the Torah or the Gospel anything like the First Sura of the Qur'an and these are seven verses of the Qur'an, and they are divided between Me and between Mine servant, and whatever he asks shall be given to my servant."

And from Abdallah ibn Masud it is known that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Let no one of you be caught at the moment when he puts his foot on his foot and humming, he leaves the recitation of Surah “Cow”, truly , the devil runs away from the house in which the sura "Cow" is read and, verily, the emptiness of the houses is their inner emptiness from the absence of the Book of Allah, the Almighty and the Great.

Abu Ayub al-Ansari said that he had a pantry with dates, and a witch came there and stole them. He said that he complained about this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and he ordered him: "Go, and if you see her, then say - in the Name of Allah, answer me, Messenger of Allah!" And so he managed to catch her, and she vowed not to return again, and he let her go, after which he again came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He asked, "What did your prisoner do?" He replied: "I swore an oath never to return." He said, "She was lying, she has a habit of lying." And so he caught her again, and she again vowed not to return, and he again let her go, and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He asked, "What did your prisoner do?" To which he replied: "I swore an oath not to return." He said, "She was lying, she has a habit of lying." And again he grabbed her, saying: "I will not leave you until I take you to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)." And then she says to him: “Truly, I will teach you something from the verse of Al-Kursi, you read it at home, and the shaitan and no one else will ever approach you.” And so, according to him, he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and he asked: "What did your captive do?" He told him what she said, and then he said: "Told the truth, being a liar."

And Abu Amama said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the ayat" Al-Kursi "after each prayer, he will not be forbidden to enter Paradise as soon as he dies."

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entrusted me with keeping the alms of the month of Ramadan. And someone came to me and began to take handfuls of food. I grabbed him, saying:“ By Allah, I will definitely take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). "He says to me:" Truly I am poor and I have children, I am in great need. "And then I let him go. The morning came and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and welcomes) asked: “O Abu Hurairah, what did your prisoner do yesterday?” I answered: “O Messenger, he complained that he was in need and that he had children, and I took pity on him and let him go. He said, "Did he lie to you? He'll be back." And then I realized that I would definitely return, from these words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) - "After all, he will return." I began to guard him, and he came and again began to grab handfuls of food. Catching him, I said: "I will definitely take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." He asked: "Leave me! I'm really poor and I have children, I won't come back." And I took pity on him again and let him go. And in the morning, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me: "O Abu Hurayrah, what did your captive do?" To which I replied: “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he complained that he was in need and that he had children, and I regretted letting him go.” He said, "Did he lie to you? He'll be back." And I ambushed him for the third time. And he came and began to grab food. Catching him, I said: "I will definitely take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and this is the last third time when you assure that you will not return, and then come again." He prayed: "Leave me alone, I will teach you words by which Allah will benefit you." I asked: "What are these words?" He replied: "When you go to sleep, then read the ayat" Al-Kursi "- (Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Living, the Eternal), until you finish the verse, and, verily, Allah will never leave you without a protector and will never come close Satan to you until the morning comes." And then I let him go. And in the morning the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked me: “What did your prisoner do yesterday?” I replied: "O Messenger of Allah, he claimed that he would teach me words that would benefit me from Allah, and I let him go." He asked: "What words were said to you?" I replied that he told me: "When you go to sleep, then read the ayat" Al-Kursi "from beginning to end - (Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Living, the Eternal). And he also said that the guardian from Allah would never leave me and that the shaitan would never come close to me until I got up in the morning, because these words more than all others induce to good. "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) exclaimed:" Did he tell you the truth, being a liar! Do you know who talked to you for three whole nights, O Abu Hurayrah?” I answered: “No.” And then he said: “It is the devil!”

He answered with a greeting, and I asked:“ Who are you? Genie or man?" He answered, "Jinn," and said again, "Give me your hand," and he held out his hand, and his hand was a dog's, and his hair was also a dog's. I asked: "Is this the image of a genie?" He said: "The jinn have learned that there is a man stronger than me among you." I again asked: "What brought you?" I asked: “What will save us from you?” The jinn replied: “This is the verse that is in Surah “The Cow” - (Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Living, the Eternal), whoever reads it, when the evening comes, he will be protected from us until morning, and whoever reads it when he gets up in the morning, he will be protected from us until evening." Hamud ibn Abdullah al-Matar

Any person, if he is a believer, regardless of his religion, seeks help and support from higher powers. Most often at such moments he turns to sacred texts. After all, many people know that the words of prayers or holy scriptures can help even in the most difficult cases. In Islam, in addition to the obligatory five times prayer, the reading of the holy book is considered an obligatory action. Believers listen and read surahs from the Koran for every day. They perform prayers for various purposes.

Prayer for every day

Dua for each day may be different. Or the same ones are repeated. The most famous and important prayer word was the ayat Korsi (ayat-al-Kursi). Islamic theologians advise reading it daily at any time and in any situation. Before leaving the house or before an important matter. When going to bed or vice versa, when a person woke up.

For example, after the night prayer, Isha is advised to read the last verses of Surah Korov. And on Fridays, the verses of Al-Kahf. Every evening you can read Yasin. According to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), Allah will forgive the reader of all sins. Whoever reads Surah Ad-Dukhan in the evening, 70 thousand angels will ask for it. Or read the last 3 verses of Surah Al-Hashr in the morning. Then until the evening the angels will pray for him.

And if death overtakes him at this time, then he will die as a martyr. Whatever suras a Muslim reads every day, it will in any case be good for him. This is why reading the Quran is so important in Islam.

Basically, people try to find a prayer with the help of which everything will be “good” in their life. But the semantics of this word is different for everyone. And in fact, there are several main trends in Islam to improve its existence. Therefore, when turning to God in prayer, you need to ask specifically about this:

It is also useful to ask for knowledge every day. To do this, you can read 114 ayat 20 of Surah Ta Ha. Sitting down at the table and after the end of the meal, words of thanks are also pronounced. It is necessary to read suras and verses before going to bed or in the morning. On the way to the mosque, for a walk or on important business. You can pray in any language and with any words. The main thing is that the dua comes from the heart and with sincere faith in the omnipotence of Allah Almighty.

House cleansing

In the Muslim world, they believe in a parallel world of genies. It is they who can spoil the lives of people in their own home. Cause various troubles. Quarrels and enmity between native people begin in the family. Jinn also have believers and non-believers. And they can do a lot of harm to a person. Sometimes genies take over the body and torment the soul.

In such cases, reading the Quran helps to cleanse the house. Cleaning is carried out under special conditions:

  • General cleaning must be done.
  • Ghusl (full ablution).
  • Wear clean clothes.
  • Read the Qur'an slowly, pronouncing the words clearly.

Adhan also helps to clean the apartment. When the call to prayer sounds Satan and genies are leaving this place. The most effective surah from the Quran for cleansing the house is Al-Baqara, and surah Al-Imran is also read for this purpose.

The suras that have a beneficial effect on the atmosphere at home and family relationships are An-Nur or Ar-Rahman.

Description of Surah an-Nas

Surahs from the Qur'an have been sent down for this mankind. From Arabic, the word "an-Nas" is translated as "People". The Almighty sent down a sura in Mecca, it contains 6 verses. The Lord turns to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with the requirement to always resort to His help, to seek only protection from evil from Allah. By "evil" is meant not so much the sorrows that accompany the earthly path of people, but the imperceptible evil that we ourselves commit, following the lead of our own passions, desires, whims. The Almighty calls this evil “the evil of Satan”: human passions are a genie-tempter who constantly tries to lead a person astray from the righteous path. Shaitan disappears only at the mention of Allah: that is why it is so important to read regularly and.

It must be remembered that the devil uses to deceive people those vices that are hidden in themselves, to which they often strive with all their hearts. Only an appeal to the Almighty can save a person from the evil that lives in him.

Surah Al-Ikhlas

Very short, easy to remember, but at the same time, extremely effective and useful sura. To listen to Al-Ikhlas in Arabic, you can use video or MP3. The word "Al-Ikhlas" in Arabic means "Sincerity". Sura is a sincere declaration of love and devotion to Allah.

Transcription (phonetic sound of the sura in Russian):

Bismi-llayahi-rrahmaani-rrahiim

  1. Kul hu Allah ahad.
  2. Allah s-samad.
  3. Lam yalid wa lam yulad
  4. Walam yakullahu kufuan ahad.

Semantic translation into Russian:

  1. Say: "He is Allah, the One,
  2. Allah is self-sufficient.
  3. He did not give birth and was not born,
  4. and there is none equal to Him.”

Description of Surah Al-Ikhlas

Sura "Sincerity" Allah sent down to the Prophet in Mecca. Al-Ikhlas contains 4 verses. Muhammad told his disciples that once he was mockingly asked about his attitude towards the Almighty. The answer was Surah Al-Ikhlas, which contains the statement that Allah is Self-sufficient, that He is One and Only in His perfection, that He has always been, and there is no one equal to Him in strength.

With the requirement to tell them about His God, the pagans who professed polytheism turned to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The literal translation of the question they used was "What is your Lord made of?". For paganism, a material understanding of God was common: they created idols from wood and metal, worshiped animals and plants. The answer of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) shocked the pagans so much that they abandoned the old faith and recognized Allah.

Many hadiths point to the benefits of Al-Ikhlas. Within the framework of one article it is impossible to name all the advantages of the sura, there are so many of them. Here are just the most important ones:

In one hadith it is said how Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) turned to people with the following question: “Isn’t each of you able to read a third of the Qur’an in a night?”. The townspeople were amazed and asked how this was possible. The Prophet replied: “Read Surah Al-Ikhlas! It is equal to one third of the Qur'an." This hadeeth suggests that in the sura "Sincerity" so much wisdom is concentrated, how much can not be found in any other text. But not one thinking person is 100% sure that this is exactly what the Prophet said, word for word, so peace be upon him, even if this hadith (the word "hadith" is translated from Arabic as "story") is good in meaning, because if he (peace be upon him) him) did not say so, then this is a slander and a lie on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

It is important to know: all these hadiths may not be reliable. Hadiths must be looked at for their correspondence with the Qur'an. If a hadith contradicts the Qur'an, then it must be discarded, even if it somehow manages to be put into collections of reliable hadith.

Another hadith retells the words of the Prophet to us: “If a believer is fifty times every day, then on the Day of Resurrection a voice from above will be heard over his grave: “Arise, O praiser of Allah, enter Paradise!”. In addition, the Messenger said: “If a person reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a hundred times, then Almighty Allah will forgive him the sins of fifty years, provided that he does not commit four types of sins: the sin of bloodshed, the sin of acquisitiveness and hoarding, the sin of debauchery and the sin drinking alcohol." Saying a Surah is a work that a person does for the sake of Allah. If this work is done with diligence, the Almighty will surely reward the one who prays.

Hadiths repeatedly point to the reward that is received for reading the sura "Sincerity". The reward is proportional to the number of readings of the prayer, the time spent on this. One of the most famous hadiths contains the words of the Messenger, demonstrating the incredible significance of Al-Ikhlas: “If anyone reads Surah Al-Ikhlas once, he will be overshadowed by the grace of the Almighty. Whoever reads it twice, then he and his whole family will be under the shadow of grace. If someone reads it three times, then he himself, his family and his neighbors will receive grace from above. Whoever reads it twelve times, Allah will grant twelve palaces in Paradise. Whoever reads it twenty times, he [on the Day of Judgment] will walk with the prophets like this (saying these words, the Prophet joined and raised his middle and index fingers) Whoever reads it a hundred times, the Almighty will forgive all his sins for twenty-five years except for the sin of bloodshed and the sin of default. Whoever reads it two hundred times, the sins of fifty years will be forgiven. Anyone who reads this surah four hundred times will get a reward equal to the reward of four hundred martyrs who shed blood and whose horses were wounded in battle. Whoever reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a thousand times, he will not die without seeing his place in Paradise, or until he is shown it.

Another hadith contains a kind of recommendation for people who are going on a journey or are already on the road. Travelers are instructed to recite Al-Ikhlas eleven times while grasping the doorposts of their house with both hands. If this is done, then the person will be protected on the way from shaitans, their negative impact and attempts to instill fear and uncertainty in the soul of the traveler. In addition, the recitation of the sura "Sincerity" is a guarantee of a safe return to places dear to the heart.

It is important to know: no sura in itself can help a person in any way, only Allah can help a person and believers rely on Him! And many hadiths, as we see, contradict the Koran - the direct speech of Allah Himself!

There is another option for reading Surah Al-Ikhlas - in combination with Al-Nas and Al-Falak. Each prayer is said three times. Reading these three suras is a protection from evil forces. As the prayer is said, it is necessary to blow on the person we want to protect. Surah is especially useful for children. If the baby cries, screams, kicks his legs, there are signs of the evil eye, be sure to try Al-Ikhlas, Al-Nas and Al-Falak. The effect will be stronger if you read the suras before going to bed.

Semantic translation:

  1. Ya. Syn.
  2. I swear by the wise Quran!
  3. Indeed, you are one of the messengers
  4. on a straight path.
  5. He was sent down by the Mighty, the Merciful,
  6. so that you warn people whose fathers no one warned, because of which they remained careless ignoramuses.
  7. Most of them the Word has come true, and they won't believe.
  8. Verily, We have put shackles on their necks up to the chin, and their heads are lifted up.
  9. We set up a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them and covered them with a veil, and they do not see.
  10. They don't care if you warn them or not. They don't believe.
  11. You can only warn those who have followed the Reminder and feared the Merciful, not seeing Him with their own eyes. Rejoice him with the news of forgiveness and a generous reward.
  12. Verily, We revive the dead and record what they did and what they left behind. Every thing We have counted in a clear guide (of the Preserved Tablet).
  13. As a parable, bring to them the inhabitants of the village, to whom the messengers came.
  14. When We sent two messengers to them, they considered them liars, and then We reinforced them with a third. They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to you."
  15. They said: “You are the same people as we are. The Merciful One did not send down anything, and you are only lying.”
  16. They said, “Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent to you.
  17. We are only entrusted with the clear communication of the revelation.”
  18. They said, “Verily, we have seen in you an evil omen. If you do not stop, then we will certainly beat you with stones and you will be touched by painful sufferings from us.
  19. They said, “Your evil omen will turn against you. Do you consider it a bad omen if you are warned? Oh no! You are people who have crossed the boundaries of what is permitted!”
  20. A man hastily came from the outskirts of the city and said: “O my people! Follow the messengers.
  21. Follow those who do not ask you for a reward and follow the straight path.
  22. And why should I not worship the One who created me and to whom you will be returned?
  23. Shall I worship other gods besides Him? For if the Merciful wishes to harm me, their intercession will not help me in any way, and they will not save me.
  24. That's when I find myself in an obvious delusion.
  25. Verily, I have believed in your Lord. Listen to me."
  26. He was told: "Enter Paradise!" He said, "Oh, if only my people knew
  27. why my Lord forgave me (or that my Lord forgave me) and that He made me one of the honored!
  28. After him, We did not send down any army from heaven against his people, and We did not intend to send down.
  29. There was only one voice, and they died out.
  30. O woe to the slaves! Not a single messenger came to them that they did not mock.
  31. Do they not see how many generations We destroyed before them and that they will not return to them?
  32. Indeed, all of them will be collected from Us.
  33. A sign for them is the dead earth, which We revived and extracted from it the grain on which they feed.
  34. We made gardens of palms and vines on it and made springs flow in them,
  35. that they eat their fruits and what they have created with their own hands (or that they eat fruits that they have not created with their own hands). Won't they be grateful?
  36. Exalted is He Who created in pairs what the earth grows, themselves and what they do not know.
  37. A sign for them is the night, which We separate from the day, and now they are plunged into darkness.
  38. The sun is sailing towards its location. Such is the arrangement of the Mighty, the Knower.
  39. We have ordained positions for the moon until it becomes again like an old palm branch.
  40. The sun does not have to overtake the moon, and the night does not lead the day. Each floats in orbit.
  41. A sign for them is that We carried their offspring in an overflowing ark.
  42. We created for them in his likeness what they sit on.
  43. If We will, We will drown them, and then no one will save them, and they themselves will not be saved,
  44. unless We show them mercy and allow them to enjoy benefits until a certain time.
  45. When they are told: “Fear what is before you and what is after you, so that you may have mercy,” they do not answer.
  46. Whatever sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, they certainly turn away from it.
  47. When they are told: “Spend from what Allah has given you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed the one whom Allah would feed if He wished? Verily, you are only in apparent error.”
  48. They say, "When will this promise come true if you're telling the truth?"
  49. They have nothing to look forward to but a single voice that will strike them when they quarrel.
  50. They will not be able to leave a will or return to their families.
  51. The horn will be blown, and now they rush to their Lord from the graves.
  52. They will say: “Woe to us! Who raised us from the place where we slept? This is what the Merciful promised, and the messengers spoke the truth.”
  53. There will be only one voice, and they will all be gathered from Us.
  54. No injustice will be done to a single soul today, and you will only be rewarded for what you have done.
  55. Indeed, the inhabitants of Paradise today will be occupied with enjoyment.
  56. They and their spouses will lie in the shadows on the beds, leaning against.
  57. There is fruit for them and everything they need.
  58. The merciful Lord greets them with the word: "Peace!"
  59. Separate today, O sinners!
  60. Haven't I commanded you, O sons of Adam, not to worship Satan, who is your open enemy,
  61. and worship Me? This is the straight path.
  62. He has already misled many of you. Don't you understand?
  63. Here is Gehenna that was promised to you.
  64. Burn in it today because you didn't believe."
  65. Today We will seal their mouths. Their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they have acquired.
  66. If We will, We will deprive them of their sight, and then they will rush to the Path. But how will they see?
  67. If We will, We will disfigure them in their places, and then they will not be able to move forward or return.
  68. To whom We grant long life, We give the opposite form. Don't they understand?
  69. We did not teach him (Muhammad) poetry, and it is not befitting for him. This is nothing but a Reminder and a clear Quran,
  70. that he may warn those who are alive, and that the Word may be fulfilled concerning unbelievers.
  71. Do they not see that out of what Our hands (We Ourselves) have done, We have created cattle for them, and that they own them?
  72. We have made him subject to them. They ride on some of them, and feed on others.
  73. They bring them benefit and drink. Won't they be grateful?
  74. But they worship other gods instead of Allah in the hope that they will be helped.
  75. They cannot help them, although they are a ready army for them (the pagans are ready to fight for their idols, or the idols will be a ready army against the pagans in the Hereafter).
  76. Don't let their words make you sad. We know what they hide and what they reveal.
  77. Can't man see that We created him from a drop? And here he is openly bickering!
  78. He gave us a parable and forgot about his creation. He said, "Who will revive the bones that have decayed?"
  79. Say: “The One Who created them the first time will revive them. He is aware of every creation."
  80. He created fire for you out of green wood, and now you are kindling fire from him.
  81. Is He Who created the heavens and the earth not able to create like them? Of course, because He is the Creator, the Knower.
  82. When He desires something, it is worthwhile for Him to say: “Be!” - how it comes true.
  83. Exalted is He in Whose Hand is power over all things! To Him you will be returned.

Sura Yasin Allah sent Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Mecca. In this text, the Almighty informed the Prophet (sallallahu ‘aleihi wa sallam) that he is the messenger of the Lord, and from the moment of revelation, his task is to enlighten, teach and exhort the people, vegetating in the abyss of polytheism. The sura also speaks of those who dare to disobey the instructions of Allah, who refuse to accept the Messenger - these unfortunate ones will face severe punishment and universal censure.

“Allah (God, Lord) ... There is no god but Him, the Eternally Living, Existing. Neither sleep nor slumber will overtake him. He owns everything in heaven and on earth. Who will intercede before Him, except by His will!? He knows what was and what will be. No one is able to comprehend even particles from His knowledge, except by His will. Heaven and Earth are embraced by the course (Great Throne) of Him, and He does not bother to care for them [About everything that is in our galactic system]. He is the Most High [by all characteristics above everything and everything], the Great [His greatness has no limits]!” (see, Holy Quran, sura “al-Baqarah”, ayat 255 (2:255)).

Ayat Al-Kursi is included in Sura Al-Baqara (translated from Arabic - a cow). According to the account in the sura, ayat 255th. It should be said right away that many prominent theologians believe that Al-Kusri is a separate sura, and not an ayat. Be that as it may, the Messenger stated that the verse is the key one in the Koran, it contains the most important statement that distinguishes Islam from other religions - the dogma of monotheism. In addition, the verse gives evidence of the greatness and infinite nature of the Lord. In this sacred text, Allah is called "Ismi 'azam" - this name is considered the most worthy name of God.

It is important to know: you should not read the Quran loudly in a chant, and even more so compete in it - while listening to such melodies you will fall into a trance and you will not understand the most important thing - the meaning that Allah conveyed to mankind to observe the Quran and meditate on His verses.

Surah Al-Baqarah

- the second and most voluminous in the Qur'an. The sacred text contains 286 verses that reveal the very essence of religion. The sura contains the teachings of Allah, the instruction of the Lord to Muslims, a description of how they should behave in various situations. In general, we can say that Surah Al-Baqarah is a text that regulates the whole life of a believer. The document says almost everything: about revenge, about the distribution of inheritance among the relatives of the deceased, about the use of alcoholic beverages, about playing cards and dice. Much attention is paid to the issues of marriage and divorce, the trading side of life, and relations with debtors.

From the Arabic language "Al-Baqara" is translated as "Cow". This name is associated with a parable, which is given in the sura. The parable tells about the Israelite cow and Musa, peace be upon him. In addition, the text contains many stories about the life of the Prophet and his followers. In "Al-Baqara" it is directly stated that the Koran is a guide in the life of a Muslim, which is given to him by the Almighty. In addition, in the sura there is a mention of believers who have received favor from Allah, as well as those who have angered the Almighty with disobedience and a tendency to disbelief.

Let us remember the words of the Great Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Do not turn your houses into graves. Shaitan flees from the house where Surah al-Baqarah is being recited. This exceptionally high assessment of the Surah "The Cow" allows us to consider it the most important in the Koran. The great significance of the sura is also emphasized by another hadith: “Read the Qur'an, because on the Day of Resurrection he will come and will intercede for his own. Read two blooming suras - suras "al-Baqara" and "Ali Imran", because on the Day of Resurrection they will appear like two clouds or two flocks of birds lined up in rows and will intercede for their own. Read Surah al-Baqarah, because there is grace and abundance in it, and without it there is sadness and annoyance, and sorcerers cannot cope with it.

In Surah Al-Baqarah, the last 2 verses are considered the main ones:

  • 285. The messenger and the believers believed in what was sent down to him from the Lord. They all believed in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures and His messengers. They say, "We make no distinction between His messengers." They say: “Listen and obey! We ask for Your forgiveness, our Lord, and we will arrive to You.
  • 286. Allah does not burden a person beyond his capacity. He will get what he has acquired, and what he has acquired will be against him. Our Lord! Do not punish us if we have forgotten or made a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place on us the burden that You placed on our predecessors. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot afford. Be kind to us! Forgive us and have mercy! You are our Protector. Help us to prevail over unbelieving people.

In addition, the sura contains the verse "Al-Kursi", which we have quoted above. The great meaning and incredible importance of Al-Kursi has been repeatedly emphasized by leading theologians who referred to famous hadiths. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, calls on Muslims to read these verses, teach them, teach them to their family members, wives and children. After all, the last two verses “Al-Bakar” and “Al-Kursi” are a direct appeal to the Almighty.

Interesting facts about Surah Al-Fatiha

Undoubtedly, the sura "Al-Fatiha" is the greatest sura of the Koran. This is confirmed by the epithets that it is customary to designate this unique text: “Opening Book”, “Mother of the Quran”, etc. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him!) repeatedly pointed out the special significance and value of this sura. For example, the Prophet said the following: "Whoever did not read the Opening Book (i.e. Surah al-Fatiha), he did not perform a prayer." In addition, the following words belong to him: “Whoever makes a prayer without reading the Opening Book in it, then it is not complete, not complete, not complete, not finished.” In this hadith, special attention is drawn to the threefold repetition of the word "not complete." The Prophet framed the phrase in such a way as to increase the impact on the listener, to emphasize that without reading Al-Fatih, prayer may not reach the Almighty.

Every Muslim should know that the Al-Fatiha sura is an indispensable element of prayer. The text deserves the honor of being in front of any sura of the Qur'an. "Al-Fatiha" is the most read sura in the Islamic world, the verses from it are pronounced constantly and in each of the rak'ahs.

One of the hadiths claims that the Almighty will reward the reader of the Al-Fatiha surah to the same extent as the person who read 2/3 of the Koran. Another hadith quotes the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him!): “I received 4 things from the special treasures of ‘Arsh (Throne), from which no one ever received anything. These are Surah Fatiha, Ayatul Kursi, the last verses of Surah Bakara and Surah Kausar. The colossal significance of Surah Al-Fatiha is also emphasized by the following hadith: “Four times Iblis had to grieve, cry and tear his hair out: the first when he was cursed, the second when he was driven from heaven to earth, the third when the Prophet (sallallahu ' alayhi wa sallam) received the fourth prophecy when Surah Fatiha was sent down.

“Muslim Sharif” contains one very revealing hadith, which cites the words of the Great Prophet (may Allah bless him and be present”: “Today one of the doors of heaven opened, which had never opened before. And one angel descended from it, who had never before descended. And the angel said: "Receive the good news about two nurs that have never been given to anyone before you. One is the sura "Fatiha", and the second is the end of the sura "Baqarah (the last three verses)".

What is the first thing that comes to mind in this hadeeth? Of course, the fact that the suras "Fatiha" and "Bakara" are called "nurs" in it. Translated from Arabic, this word means "light." On the Day of Judgment, when Allah will judge people for their earthly path, the read suras will become a light that will attract the attention of the Almighty and allow Him to separate the righteous from the sinners.

"Al-Fatiha" is "Ismi A'zam", that is, a text that should be read in any situation. Even in ancient times, doctors noticed that the sura written in rose oil on the bottom of porcelain dishes makes the water exceptionally healing. The patient needs to drink water for 40 days. In a month he will feel relief, God willing. To improve the condition with a toothache, headache, pain in the abdomen, the sura must be read exactly 7 times.

And remind, for the reminder benefits believers. (Quran, 51:55)

Sura (Arabic سورة) is one of the 114 chapters of the Quran. All surahs of the Qur'an, except the ninth, begin with the words of the basmala "In the Name of Allah, the Gracious and Merciful" (arab. Each sura consists of verses (revelations). The number of verses in suras varies from 3 (suras Al-Asr, Al-Kawthar, An-Nasr) to 286 (suras Al-Baqarah). Starting from the second sura of al-Baqarah, the suras in the Qur'an are arranged approximately in descending order of the number of verses.

According to the place of sending down, the suras are divided into Meccan and Medina suras. The division of surahs into Meccan and Medinan is, first of all, a consequence of stylistic and thematic considerations. The classification of suras into these periods is based on factors such as the length of the verse and the presence or absence of certain key concepts or words (for example, ar-Rahman as the name of God).

There are three opinions in the division of suras into Meccan and Medinan:

1. Taking into account the time of sending down.

  • Meccan suras: everything that was sent down before the Hijra (migration), even if outside of Mecca. This is until the moment when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) entered Medina.
  • Suras of Medina: everything that was sent down after the Hijra, even if not in Medina. Even if it was sent down in Mecca. This opinion was expressed by Yahya ibn Salam Basri (died 200 AH).

2. Taking into account the place of sending down.

  • Meccan: everything that was sent down in Mecca and its environs, like Mina, Arafat, Hudaybiya.
  • Medina: everything that was sent down in Medina and its environs, like Uhud, Quba.

3. Considering who is being contacted.

  • Meccan: where there is an appeal to the inhabitants of Mecca.
  • Medina: where there is an appeal to the inhabitants of Medina.

The meaning and origin of the word "sura"

The linguistic meaning of the word “sura”, which is relevant for the Koran, was studied by the outstanding orientalist and Turkologist, Doctor of Philology, Professor G. Kh. Akhatov.

The researcher put forward a number of assumptions:

  • this word means a simplified form of the word “sura”, pronounced with the consonant sound hamza (ء), and meaning “leftovers” or “remnants of food on the dishes”, because the sura of the Qur'an is considered to be its separate piece / separate part. However, this assumption, as Professor G. Kh. Akhatov established, has a serious obstacle: the writing of the letter hamza was invented 2 centuries after the appearance of the Koran, Khalil ibn Ahmad al-Farahidi, taking the letter “ayn” (ع) as a basis and inventing hamza (ء ).
  • the word "sura" comes from the root "sur", which can mean "enclosure" and "fortress wall". That is, the suras firmly guard, protect the verses and unite them into one whole.
  • the word "sura" can come from the word "savor", from the Arabized Persian word "dastvara - dastband" ("bracelet"). From time immemorial, the bracelet was considered a symbol of eternity, continuity, integrity and morality, and, proceeding from this, the sura, as it were, tightly rings the verses of the Holy Quran with spiritual morality.
  • the word "sura" often denotes a high status, the highest position. The divine word, even within the limits of one sura, has the highest position.
  • the word "sura" could well be derived from the word "tasavvur" in the meaning of the word "ascent": the verses of the sura create a spiritual ascent...
  • the word "sura" (سورة) may be a corruption of the word "sura" (صورة), meaning "katrinka".

As a result of a comprehensive linguistic and comparative historical analysis, Professor G. Kh. Akhatov came to an objective scientific conclusion that the word "sura" in the linguistic sense has not any one, but a polyphonic (multi-valued) meaning, that is, according to the scientist, “Sura” is a chapter of the Koran, which performs not only dividing functions by “high walls”, ranking the text, but to a greater extent bears “architectural” - spiritual and energy functions that contribute to the formation of a special internal spiritual energy of believers when reading verses.

Meccan suras

Meccan suras (Arabic آية مكية - Meccan verses) are chronologically early suras of the Koran, sent down, according to Islamic tradition, to the Prophet Muhammad before the Hijra.

Features of Meccan suras

  1. All suras beginning with single letters, except for suras "Al-Baqarah" and "Alu Imran", are Meccan.
  2. All suras in which there is an instruction to bow to the earth are Meccan.
  3. All suras that contain the word كَلَّا (But no!), are Meccan, because many Meccans were proud and arrogant. The use of this word put them in their place and seemed to warn such people.
  4. All the surahs that tell about the prophets and ancient communities, except for the surah Al-Baqarah, are Meccan.
  5. All the surahs that tell about the story of the venerable Adam and Satan, except for the surah Al-Baqarah, are Meccan.
  6. Almost all surahs that contain the phrase يَا اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ and, at the same time, do not have the phrase يَا اَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ امَنُوا are Meccan.
  7. Most of the short suras are represented by Meccan suras.

Theme of the Meccan suras

  1. In Meccan suras, faith in Allah is often recalled.
  2. The fallacy of polytheism is reported, it is said that this is blind following, it is said that this path that the ancestors followed is wrong, and the Qur'an also calls for the use of one's own mind.
  3. Themes such as the greatness of Allah, His power, the importance of obedience to Him, as well as belief in the Day of Judgment come to the fore in the Makkan suras.
  4. The Meccan suras describe in detail the confrontations of the prophets who lived earlier with their peoples.
  5. These surahs deal in various forms with topics such as moral principles, righteousness, good deeds, the importance of visiting relatives, good relations with parents, the rights of neighbors, the importance of controlling the tongue and heart, as well as such sins as unbelief, oppression of other people, sinfulness, burying children alive, murder, adultery and the immorality of it all.

Meccan Surah Style

Based on the criteria taken from the Koran itself, namely on its vocabulary and style, the German orientalist G. Weyl, followed by T. Nöldeke, divide the suras of the Meccan revelations into three groups.

  1. The first group includes literary perfect suras. Sublime style, adorned with bold images, short and very rhythmic verses contain simple yet strict instructions. The meaning of these verses is often unclear, especially when subtle allusions are made. In addition, spells are very common in this group, based in most cases on natural phenomena, but many of them also remain a mystery. These spells call a person to think about his salvation. Short, expressing the confusion of the feelings of the sura, not all were understood by the contemporaries of Muhammad. Sura 96 is considered the oldest of them.
  2. The suras of the second group are calmer, the spells in them gradually give way to the formula: “This is the revelation of Allah!” or the command: "Say!", with which Allah addresses his Prophet. The prediction of the Last Judgment recedes into the background before the proclamation of monotheism: Muhammad decisively breaks with idolaters. The suras are getting longer. In them there are some, still vague instructions regarding the rules of conduct and rituals, allusions to the prophets that preceded Muhammad.
  3. There are more and more such tales about the prophets in the third group of Meccan suras, which is, apparently, a vague reflection of the legends of the Jewish haggadah (part of the Talmud, which includes stories, parables and legends). Such tales occupy approximately 1500 verses, that is, one fourth of the Qur'an. Their goal is to show the infidels how in the old days God struck people who refused to listen to the prophets. This repetitive third group of suras, written in a less confident style and more rhetorical than poetic, is the least remarkable part of the book, despite the fact that the legends have a folklore interest. The incantations so frequent in the older suras finally disappear. Allah is often denoted by the word rahman ("merciful"). In later suras this word disappears. One orientalist explains it this way: Muhammad must have feared that the believers would not see in this rahman a deity other than Allah. In the Hudaybi agreement, the Meccans, abandoning the formula containing this name, retained the old formula: "In your name, O Allah!"

So, the first group of suras of poetic tone corresponds to the first four years of Muhammad's activity; the second group, in a semi-poetic-half-rhetorical tone, for the fifth and sixth years, and the third group, in a rhetorical tone, contains the surahs of the revelations of the sixth year BC. This is the classification of the Meccan portions of the Qur'an adopted by Nöldeke. “Pictures of the end of the world and the Last Judgment, written in bright colors, calls to prepare yourself for them, leaving unbelief and worldly life, stories about the fate of ancient peoples and their attitude towards the prophets who were sent to them, a story about the creation of the world and the miraculous creation of man for evidence of the omnipotence of God and the dependence on him of every creature that he can destroy and resurrect at his own will - such is the content of the oldest parts of this book of revelations ”(Goldzier).

Suras of Medina

The Medina suras, or Medina chapters of the Qur'an, are those late suras that, according to Islamic tradition, were sent down to the prophet in Medina, after the Hijra of Muhammad from Mecca. These suras appeared when the Muslims were in greater numbers than when they were an oppressed minority, as in Mecca.

Features of the Medinan suras

  1. In these suras, the principles of law, punishment, inheritance issues, social rules, and principles of state law are developed.
  2. These suras give permission to conduct military operations and describe the provisions related to this.
  3. All surahs that speak of hypocrites, except for the surah Al-Ankabut, are Medinan.
  4. The Medinan suras deal with topics such as dealing with Jews and Christians, as well as attempts to call them to the truth and renounce their delusions.

The style and themes of the Medinan suras

These suras of the Medinan period were written by a religious and political legislator, who was no longer supposed to preach his religion, but to systematize religious teaching and at the same time lay the foundation of a new society. In style, these suras hardly differ from the Meccan suras of the third group, except for new words introduced in various prescriptions. On the question of the last verse of the revelations, opinions are divided. Many authors agree that this is verse 5 of sura 5.

As for the content, there are some hints in the suras about the events that took place then. Thus, there is a call to properly respect the Prophet and his family; praising those who die on the “path of Allah”, attacks against the “hypocrites”, these Pharisees of Islam, and against the Christian trinity (for example, sura 4, 169: “After all, the Messiah, Isa, the son of Maryam, is only the messenger of Allah and His word, which He threw to Maryam, and His spirit… do not say three!.. Verily, Allah is only one God.” Indeed, Jesus appears only in the Medina Suras); there are also attacks against the Jews. With regard to the Jews, it should be recalled that in the Meccan suras, Abraham appears only as one of the prophets who preceded Muhammad, without any connection with the Arabs. In the Medina suras, after Muhammad's break with the Jews, Abraham's activities began to be associated directly with the Arabs: according to the Koran, he and his son Ismail created not only the Meccan sanctuary, but also a pure original religion, the very one that Muhammad seeks to restore and which the Jews distorted and Christians.

Precepts for religious, civil and criminal cases are collected mainly in suras 2, 4 and 5, numbering more than 500 verses (about a tenth of the Qur'an). However, no code of laws can be found in the Medinan suras in

in the truest sense of the word, and it must be reiterated that, contrary to a widely spread misconception, Muslims do not administer justice according to the Qur'an. It should also not be thought that the Medinan suras are exclusively legislative in nature. Some of the verses in them refer to some of the most beautiful passages in the Qur'an (as in Sura 2, 135 et seq.). Some other verses are quite clear about the religious beliefs and duties of an exemplary Muslim (for example, Sura 2, 172: “It is not piety that you turn your faces towards the east and west, but piety is who believes in Allah, and on the last day, and into angels, and into scripture, and into prophets, and gave property, despite love for him, relatives and orphans, and the poor, and travelers, and those who ask, and slaves, and stood up prayer, and gave purification, - and fulfilling their covenants when they make them, and those who are patient in adversity and affliction and in time of trouble, these are those who were truthful, it is they who fear God.

Some Surahs of the Quran

  • Sura "ad-Duha" is a remedy for fear of the Day of Judgment. It is quite natural that a person has a fear of the upcoming day of the Great Judgment, because it is there that our future will be decided, extending into eternity. However, the Blessed Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) suggested a good means of getting rid of such fear, saying: “For the one who reads the surah “ad-Duha”, at night seventy thousand angels will ask for forgiveness until the morning.”
  • Surah al-Fatiha is a salvation from any difficulty. As the great theologian Hassan Basri said, the Quran gathered all the knowledge revealed in the scriptures earlier, and "Fatiha" is the basis of the Quran. Therefore, many scholars, including Hasan Basri, advised the faithful to seek salvation from the raging storm of life's adversities in this sura.
  • Surah al-Wakiy'a - salvation from poverty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) paid great attention to the issue of mutual assistance and support between the representatives of the ummah. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told the believers about the increase in the property of those who sincerely give alms and pay zakat, and about the obligation of every believer to help his brother in faith, who, due to a combination of certain circumstances, found himself in a difficult financial situation. In order to get out of a state of need, the Blessed Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also advised reading the surah al-Waqi'a: “If a person reads the surah al-Waqi'a every night, he will never be touched by poverty. Al-Waqiy'a is the Surah of Wealth, read it and teach it to your children."
  • Surah al-Mulk - salvation from the torment in the grave. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) read this sura every night and said to others at the same time: “” There is a sura of thirty verses in the Qur'an that will intercede for the person who read them and help him get forgiveness. This Surah is al-Mulk."
