Sculpture of Twardowski in the Museum of what material. Dashing sculptures in the muzeon park. Outdoor sculpture exhibition

The sculpture symposium is held annually. The Muzeon Art Park in Moscow is directly related to this. Some of the works of sculptural art created during the symposium remain on display at a special site in the Muzeon. These sculptures can be viewed, touched, admired or surprised ...

The tradition of sculpture symposia and the tradition of permanent exhibitions of works by the participating sculptors originated at Muzeon almost 20 years ago in 1995. Then the works of wooden sculpture were presented.

In 1997, the First Moscow Symposium on Stone Sculpture was held in the Muzeon Art Park. Since 1998, not only sculptors with famous names have been attracted to participate, but also talented student sculptors. The material of the works is mainly soft limestone. After all, a work of art must be created during the time of the symposium.

Since then, every summer for the duration of the sculpture symposium, a small area turns into a creative workshop. The venerable and not so sculptures show the audience the results of their creative inspiration. Various master classes are held here, and experience is exchanged.

The conditions for the implementation of an individual sculptural project are rather tough: the sculpture must be created in a limited time (the period of the symposium), outdoors (the use of "high" technologies is difficult), in front of numerous spectators (who sometimes embarrass the sculptor's timid muse) and must withstand for a long time outdoor exposure in the local climate.

The conditions and forms of sculpture symposia change frequently. There was an idea to hold a symposium under the working title "Territory of Love". As conceived by the organizers, newlyweds and just couples in love will be photographed at the sculptures, and this will contribute to the popularization of sculptural art in Russia.

Sculptors are people with creative imagination. When representatives of different trends in art gather for such symposia on sculpture, and very of different ages(they say that the youngest was not even 20, and the oldest was over 75), then the result is often extraordinary. Sometimes the result is shocking.

Probably every sculptor at a sculpture symposium is trying to stand out and declare himself as an original creative person. In addition, the "dashing 90s" left their mark on the formation of sculptors - this is the first thing that comes to mind when contemplating the exhibition. This is why our reportage is titled Dashing Sculptures in Muzeon Park.

Most of the sculptures do not have any plaques with the name and name of the author. True, sometimes you can find the year of creation. Either during the next symposium on sculpture, no one in the Muzeon Art Park was particularly bothered with formal things. Either this is a creative position - the sculpture must contain a riddle, and then the viewer becomes a full-fledged participant in the creative process, trying to guess or fantasize what is depicted in the work, and what idea the author was trying to convey. Or maybe the author did not have any thoughts, but he just floated through the waves of inspiration and created as best he could ...

The site of sculptures created during the annual sculpture symposia in the Muzeon Art Park in Moscow may well be an attractive place for an easy walk in fine weather. Even if this art is not close to you, then at least you will have a good walk and have fun. Photos for memory will be memorable.

Muzeon, translated from the ancient Greek "temple of arts". This temple is located at the metro station Oktyabrskaya or Park Kultury directly opposite.

The pedestrian crossing between Gorky Park and Muzeon was turned into an art gallery.

Price:

The park is divided into a free part and a paid one, the entrance fee for which is 20 or 30 rubles. For some reason, I did not even notice the cash register until the vigilant old cashier called me.

The history of the appearance of Muzeon begins in the twenties of the last century, when on the territory between the Crimean embankment and the Second Babegorodsky lane, according to the project of the genius A.V. Shchusev, a park was to be laid out, serving as a continuation of the Gorky Park of Culture and Rest. But this proposal, which was part of the New Moscow project, did not come true.

In 1931, it was planned to place part of the complex of the famous Palace of Soviets by architect I.V. Zholtovsky, for which it was blown up. The project never came to fruition. The territory remained undeveloped.

Then, under the leadership of the same Shchusev, the construction of a new complex of buildings of the Academy of Sciences began. The construction was stopped by the war. After the war, this project was no longer returned.

In the early 60s, there was an attempt to build residential buildings here. Thank God, this “project” was also stopped and, finally, the idea of an Arts Park came up. Already in 1970, construction began on the artists' house and a new building on the designated area. Tretyakov Gallery... Private chaotic buildings were demolished. Although the Tretyakov Gallery complex was commissioned already in 1979, the entire territory up to the Crimean embankment was a huge wasteland, a dump of construction waste, an eternal problem for the city authorities.

Finally, in the decade preceding the collapse of the USSR, the artists themselves laid down the park and, with the participation of the Moscow authorities, planted the trees of the future park. After the coup of 1991 and the war that followed with the monuments of Soviet history, many statues of figures of national history were dismantled. On the one hand, these were monuments to Lenin, Stalin, Dzerzhinsky, and on the other, the works of the remarkable sculptors E.V. Vuchetich, S.D. Merkurov, V.I. Mukhina, Yu.G. Orekhova, Z.I. Vilensky. They were all taken to the park and laid on the ground.

"Extracts sounds".

When the passions subsided, it turned out that more than 700 sculptures of enduring artistic value were collected on the territory of the park. Many events have taken place since 1992, when the Muzeon Park of Arts first became the official name of the new organization. Its composition, subordination, and size of the territory changed. But the intention remained to create completely unusual place in Moscow, and throughout Russia, there is an art park with an open-air sculpture museum.

All the sculptures were installed in the alleys of the park and constituted its initial exposition. The resulting defects, chips, even inscriptions have been preserved on the monuments. The park administration believes that all this is the same monument of the era, like the sculpture itself. They are framed by a magnificent frame of greenery, a landscape designed and broken the best designers country. This is a territory for artists, and that's why they love it so much. Every weekend there is an open-air vernissage and exhibitions of contemporary sculptors.

But the park of arts of the Moscow association Muzeon is not only a historical heritage. It hosts annual seminars of sculptors of the country and the world. Masters demonstrate their secrets at master classes, young sculptors show their works to those who wish. The uniqueness of such an organization is that viewers can be present at the sacrament of the birth of a work of art, usually hidden from prying eyes. The entire park is divided into thematic zones that give an idea of entire eras in the history of Russian sculpture of the twentieth century. The creations sculpted during the seminars remain here and decorate the Museum of Art Muzeon with new and new masterpieces.

As one girl said: "You took a close-up of the wrong part of the body!"

The sculpture is called "Young Russia".

Wooden sculptures.

This directly spitting image of the Shooter from the Stalker game.

"Gathering stones".

Such outdoor sculpture parks exist in other countries of the world. The Moscow Muzeon Park surpasses them with the breadth of the exposition, the living connection of times, the extraordinary aura of creativity that surrounds it.

Muzeon Park is a beautiful, even romantic place. There are several gardens where roses and other flowers grow. It is quite possible to come here with a girl.

It is not clear how this weapon got here.

This part of the park is made in Japanese or Chinese style, in general oriental.

The Muzeon Art Park is a very interesting and, one might even say, unique place.

Its "highlight" is sculptures placed in the open air, including those of the Soviet period. The park is located almost in the center of Moscow, near the Central House of Artists on the Crimean embankment. Getting to it is not difficult at all.

The official foundation date of Muzeon is January 24, 1992, but the first statues appeared in this place in 1991, when a large number of monuments to political figures of the Soviet era were dismantled. Many of them were placed on the embankment of the Moskva River behind the Central House of Artists - this is how an open-air art park appeared. Gradually, the collection was replenished with a variety of works. There are more than 1000 sculptures in the main fund.

The monument to Dzerzhinsky by Vuchetich was dismantled from the Lubyanka (then it was called Dzerzhinsky Square) after the 1991 putsch.

Next to Dzerzhinsky are Sverdlov, Kalinin, Gorky and Stalin.

The monument to Stalin was made during his lifetime in 1938 by the sculptor Merkurov. This is the only surviving monument, albeit with a damaged nose, left after the destruction of Stalin's statues during the Khrushchev thaw. Behind there is an installation of stone heads "Victims of Political Repression".

Of course, in the historical part there are many works dedicated to Lenin.

There is also Leonid Ilyich:

The rest of the exhibits are very diverse. Monument to Friendship of Peoples:

Catherine II by Burganov.

Girls with a thin waist.

And well-fed.

Liked the Gathering Stones.

Many similar works:

Sometimes not entirely clear. Man and woman?

Sculptures are located in the territory a little chaotically. Some are lined up along the chestnut alley - like these busts:

But, most are simply scattered across the meadows.

In the future, the Muzeon management plans to streamline the placement of exhibits, reconstruct the territory, and divide it into two parts - a permanent exhibition and a temporary exhibition area.

With children, it is better to enter the park from the side of the embankment. There are many small elements of landscape design: flower beds, ponds, fountains, alpine slides. And, of course, playgrounds.

Brave grandfather Mazai and hares playing Titanic near the pond:

Liked the wooden swing benches.

And these are the cozy benches, gazebos.

And, of course, greens. I was in the park in May - lilacs and chestnuts were blooming.

When looking from the park towards the embankment, the Tsereteli Peter the Great is clearly visible - he is very close.

I cannot show all the interesting works and corners of the park, so come to Muzeon and see them with your own eyes.

The Muzeon has concert venues, a summer cinema, a cafe and a tour desk. Not far away, across the street Krymsky Val, there is

How to get to Muzeon Art Park

On public transport: m. "Park Kultury" or "Oktyabrskaya", then 5-10 minutes on foot. You can enter the park from the side of the Central House of Artists, from the Crimean embankment and from Maronovsky lane.

Address: Krymsky Val str., 10

Opening hours

Every day, around the clock.

The entrance to the territory is free.

The official sculpture park is called Muzeon - the park of arts. But since sculpture prevails among all types of art presented in the open air in the park on Krymskaya Embankment, it is usually called a park of sculptures or, even, a cemetery of sculptures. Which, to some extent, is true. In the 90s of the twentieth century, Moscow decided to get rid of monuments to some political leaders of the past, and they found their “last” refuge here, in a small park with a total area of about 24 hectares. (For comparison, the territory of the Kremlin is 28 hectares).

In addition to the "victims", there are other works of famous (V. Mukhina, E. Vuchetich, S. Merkurov) and not very sculptors - our contemporaries.

I really love this small, quiet, uncrowded park. When I come here, I always notice something new: some alterations, improvements. A bit sorry for the cozy swing, which for some reason was removed. Changed landscape design- there are no more slides, brooks and romantic bridges. The selection of sculptures also changes slightly. Old Soviet monuments are in place, new works by young masters are replacing sculptures by their older colleagues. The park constantly pleases and surprises. I will present some photographs of the permanent “residents” of the Muzeon Park.

Shcherbakov S.A. Sculptor Sotnikov, 1990 Zamakhina N.A. "Gemini", 1990, granite. Taratynov A.M. “Grandfather Mazai and the Hares”, 2010. Unfortunately, there is no sign indicating the author next to this charming fashionista, my favorite sculpture in Moscow. Photo taken from the Internet. Author unknown.

The Muzeon Art Park is located very close to the historic city center. There is no metro station nearby, but getting to the sculpture park is quite simple - you can walk from the Kropotkinskaya and Polyanka metro stations.

Fragment of the Moscow metro map. The “Kropotkinskaya” and “Polyanka” of interest to us are marked with purple ovals.

Let's consider two options. In my opinion, option 1 is preferable - from the Kropotkinskaya metro station. Why? Because the path to the park is rich in beautiful views, on the way you can admire the famous Moscow sights. So,

we go to the park of arts (park of sculptures) "Muzeon" from the metro station "Kropotkinskaya".

Kropotkinskaya is located on the red line No. 1 of the Moscow metro. The station has two exits to the city. We need the one that leads to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

You need to climb the steps, exit the glass doors, turn left and go up the stairs.

Go here ...

(The exit from the metro station leads to the park near the Cathedral of Christ, it is located below ground level. In order not to wander around the cathedral in search of stairs, it is better to go straight to Volkhonka street).

... DO NOT go here!

The stairs lead to Volkhonka Street. Looking to the right, you can see the square and the wall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

We walk towards the main entrance to the temple. To do this, you need to turn sharply to the left and go to the opposite exit from the metro side of Volkhonka. After a few steps you will see the entrance to the territory of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and several gates. Enter the nearest one.

Walk around the Temple on the left.

The temple remains on the right hand.

In a few meters you will see a pedestrian bridge over the Moskva River.

A beautiful lantern points the way to the pedestrian Patriarch Bridge. Patriarshy Bridge

On it you need to go to the opposite side of the river and canal. Passing through the bridge in good weather, you will see an amazing view of the Kremlin,

House on the Embankment

On the other side of the bridge one can clearly see (300 years of the Russian fleet) and, at the same time, the former chocolate factory "Red October".

View of the Moskva River from the Patriarch Bridge. At the foot you can see a green square - this is the Muzeon Park.

The monument to Peter will serve as a guiding star to the Muzeon park, the entrance to which is located exactly opposite the monument to the first emperor of Russia.

Do not rush to descend from the bridge when you have crossed the river! There is still a channel ahead!

The Patriarshy Bridge is thrown across the Moskva River and the Vodootvodny Canal.

We follow the bridge to the very end, we come to a modern building.

On the opposite side of the channel you can see modern building, we follow to it.

The stairs down are inside this house.

The descent from the bridge is under the signboard "Negotsiant". A staircase is already visible in the distance. We follow the girls. Or for a young man, depending on preference. 🙂

Going down, you need to immediately turn left.

Here we immediately turn left.

At the end of the building, one more turn to the left.

Around the corner - once again to the left. (The transition is indicated by the sign! Follow the rules!)

you can go to the opposite side of the road and walk along the canal embankment.

"Guiding Peter" 🙂

There are also many monuments that previously stood on the streets and squares of Moscow and other cities.

25. The famous "Iron Felix" - a monument to F.E. Dzerzhinsky works by E.V. Vuchetich, who from 1958 to 1991 stood on Lubyanskaya Square, which then bore his (Dzerzhinsky) name, but in August 1991 was savagely demolished by a crowd of insane marginals who imagined themselves to be "Defenders of Free Russia" (abbreviated as assholes).

26. Maxim Gorky. Sculptors: I.D. Shadr, V.I. Mukhina, Z.G. Ivanova, N.G. Zelenskaya, 1951. Removed in 2005 from the Tverskaya Zastava square near the Belorussky railway station, "temporarily, during the construction of an interchange, a parking lot and a shopping complex." All these objects were built long ago, the monument is still here.
Update: On July 31, 2017, the monument was still returned to the Belorussky railway station. So don't look for him in Muzeon anymore.

27. Monument to Ya.M. Sverdlov, the work of the sculptor R.E. Ambartsumyan
