There is information about this in the salary books of the Synod of the state order. It says: “September 6th day, (according to N.S. On the site of the dismantled one, a new temple was built in the name of the Life-Giving Trinity. Shortly before the First World War, a neoclassical bell tower was erected over the entrance.

In 1935, by a decision of the authorities, the ministry was banned and the premises of the church were used for needs industrial enterprise(sports artel). Life-Giving Trinity in Starye Cheryomushki. 2003 r.

For the first time about Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Starye Cheryomushki mentioned in the order of Empress Anna Ioannovna from 1732, where it was ordered to consecrate and issue Antimins at the request of State Councilor A.T. Rzhevsky - it was he who owned the village, and, accordingly, the monastery.

It is known that in 1879 a new one was erected on the site of the old building of the temple. The construction was organized by the priest Ioann Zabavin, the Moscow merchant Stepan Tikhonov was a patron of the arts. And before the First World War, a bell tower was erected above the entrance in the then fashionable neoclassicism style.

After the October Revolution Life-Giving Trinity in Starye Cheryomushki it did not close immediately, but only in 1935. Its premises were given first to the soybean trust, then to the sports artel.

However, in 1963, the monastery was completely destroyed when Cheryomushki, which entered the Moscow line, was liquidated. A pool was built on the site of the temple, which did not last long and turned into a garbage dump.

Life-Giving Trinity in Starye Cheryomushki

In 1997, on the initiative of the inhabitants of the Akademichesky district, the restoration of the monastery began. It so happened that design work dragged on. The first project of the architect Pavel Parshikov was not accepted, since it did not correspond to the goals of the parishioners; the second was taken up by Mikhail Pankratov; Alexander Kornyukov worked on the project of the chapel, and the Sunday school, the gatehouse and the clergy's house were built according to the sketches of Z. A Zagurskaya. And that's not all the specialists working on the project.

In 2001, construction began. There was no targeted funding, donations from individuals and organizations were inconsistent and fragmented, so the temple was completed only in 2005. Interesting fact: once upon a time there was a pond on the site of the temple, therefore, when the 6-meter piles were driven in, they did not reach the bottom, and were replaced by 9-meter ones.

The main altar is consecrated in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, and the other two - in the name of the holy righteous Alexy of Moscow (in the world of Alexei Mechev) and Metropolitan Vladimir Bogoyavlensky.

Refurbished Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Starye Cheryomushki built in the style of Russian pattern. It is five-domed, with a hipped bell tower above the entrance, spacious and light. Its arched architecture seems to expand the interior space.

The interior is decorated with paintings on the walls, gilded icons and carved iconostases made by masters from Sergiev Posad. The exterior is bright and smart. The building is decorated with kokoshniks and arches on drums, cornices in the form of scallops and inverted triangles, flies (square grooves) around the perimeter, and tall narrow windows with decorative round windows are also interestingly combined.

Today, the church has a Sunday school, a “Historical Reconstruction” club; Gospel talks are held for young people under the age of 30; various concerts are held.
