Thermostat for a heating radiator - choose the right device. Which heat regulator can be put on the battery Proper installation of the thermostat on the battery

A prominent representative of the control valves of heating systems is a thermostat for a battery, otherwise a radiator valve or a thermostatic valve. Like other innovations in the field of heating, it came to us from Europe, and almost immediately it was included in the state building codes as an obligatory element of any water heating system. Accordingly, the purpose of this article is to reveal the principle of operation of the thermostat and tell users how to choose, install and configure it in a home heating system.

What is a thermostat for?

Properly selected and installed thermostatic valves not only save energy, but also greatly simplify the life of the homeowner in terms of adjusting the temperature in the rooms. After all, with the help of heating boilers, you can change the heating of all rooms at the same time, increasing or decreasing the temperature of the coolant. But the regulators of heating batteries make it possible to heat the premises in different ways, depending on their purpose, which brings considerable energy savings.

For reference. Most modern boilers can be connected to a remote heating thermostat to control heating in automatic mode. But this does not solve the issue, since the coolant with a certain temperature will still flow into all rooms at once.

The task of the thermostatic valve is to regulate the amount of coolant entering the room depending on the air temperature in the room, automatically maintaining it at the level that the user has set. The main thing is that a sufficient amount of heated water comes from the side of the heat generator, because the thermostat for the radiator can only reduce its consumption, but not increase it.

The purpose of radiator thermal valves is described in the following video:

The device and principle of operation of the thermostat

Any automatic radiator valve consists of 2 parts:

  1. Thermostatic valve with an actuator for shutting off the flow of the coolant.
  2. Thermal head with a control element that reacts to changes in air temperature.

The valve, made of brass, has a traditional mechanism with a working cone included in the seat and in this way reduces its flow area. The difference from a conventional manual faucet is that the cone is attached to a push rod with a spring extending outwards. Pressing on the end of the rod is carried out by the second element - the thermal head. The stronger the pressure, the smaller the flow area. The diagram below shows the assembly of the heating battery regulator:

Inside the thermostatic head is a small sealed container filled with a temperature-sensitive medium - liquid or gas. When heated, this medium expands, the container increases and presses the rod harder, blocking the coolant flow. When cooling, the process goes in the opposite direction, which is the principle of operation of the thermal head. The scaled adjustment knob mechanically limits the maximum opening of the valve.

Important. The thermostat installed on the battery only affects the flow rate of the coolant, changing it in one direction or another. The thermostat is not a water temperature regulator, that is, it performs a quantitative regulation, but not a qualitative one.

Varieties and selection of thermostats

By design, radiator valves are divided into 3 groups:

  • straight;
  • corner;
  • as part of a headset for connecting heating devices.

If everything is clear with straight and angular thermostats, then the headset should be said separately. It allows you to simultaneously install a thermostat on a battery and connect it to pipes coming straight out of the floor. Although the price of such a headset will come out more than traditional pipe connections, such an attachment will look much more aesthetic.

Radiator connection kit with built-in thermostat

For two-pipe systems with a heating circulation pump, any of the listed valves is suitable, the only question is how the heater is connected, and from a technical point of view, they are all the same. Another thing is a single-pipe circuit, for it it is better to buy a special battery temperature controller with an increased saddle flow area. Such thermostats have less hydraulic resistance, which is clearly seen in the diagram:

In addition to valves, you should also choose thermal heads for batteries, and here is an immediate recommendation: the valve and head must be from the same manufacturer, and the mating threads must match. The standard thread on the valve is M28 and M30. In general, the choice of head designs is not too wide - in addition to the usual elements with an integrated bellows, there are also products with an electronic control unit and a display. These thermostats are programmable and can be set to maintain different room temperatures throughout the day.

Advice. When choosing a programmable thermostatic head, remember that it needs battery or mains power. In order for the thermostat to work correctly, you will have to monitor the availability of power.

In cases where it is planned to install heating devices behind screens or the windows of the room are supposed to be hung with thick curtains, conventional thermocouples may not function correctly. Due to the weak air movement in the radiator area, the temperature behind the screen and in front of it can differ by a couple of degrees, so in addition to the thermostat, you should buy a remote sensor with a capillary tube.

A sensor behind the screen will control the thermostat via a capillary tube, focusing on the correct room temperature. There is also a more advanced version in the form of a remote regulator, which is also connected with a capillary tube. But here you need to be more careful: not all valves are suitable for such thermal heads, so when choosing a thermostat, you need to consult with the seller.

Finally, a few words about the manufacturers of radiator valves. Quite a lot of them appeared, especially Chinese ones, whose quality is more than doubtful. The following brands of thermostats are definitely recommended for use, their reliability is beyond doubt:

  • DANFOSS;
  • HERZ ARMATUREN;
  • OVENTROP.

Advice. You should not buy and install thermostats on all radiators in the house. The rule is this: in order to ensure normal regulation, in each room it is necessary to equip with thermostats only those batteries whose total power is 50% of the total or more. In simple words: with 2 heaters in the room, the valve must be installed on one (which is larger), with 3 - on two radiators, and so on.

Installation and setup

Before you buy and install a thermostat on a battery, you need to make sure that your heater is not equipped with a valve from the factory. This applies to steel panel radiators from some manufacturers, such as KERMI or HEIMEIER. For them, you only need to purchase the thermostatic head itself with a suitable thread and screw it into the appropriate socket.

Setting up and installing a thermostat on batteries with your own hands should not cause you great difficulties. Here are some recommendations:

  1. The valve is always placed only on the supply pipeline.
  2. Observe the direction of flow indicated in the product data sheet.
  3. When installing, use American women so that the assembly can always be disassembled.
  4. The position of the valve and head, as well as the distances to the nearest structures, are indicated in the diagram:

If the thermostat does not provide for the function of mechanical blocking of the coolant flow, then to service the radiator, you will have to put an additional one in front of the valve, as shown in the diagram:

Mounting the thermal head

The element is fastened to the valve body in two ways - on the thread or by simple snapping, as on DANFOSS products. In any case, you must first remove the protective cap from the valve axle box, then turn the head handle to the “max” position and insert it into the socket until it clicks or slightly tighten with a wrench (when the connection is threaded). If the thermostatic head rotates normally, the setting is successful.

Valves of some manufacturers, as well as all heads, have a presetting function. This is an early limitation of the temperature control range, which is implemented in different models in different ways. For example, the HERZ ARMATUREN thermostat is limited with the help of special pins, in other products a key is attached that fixes the head in a certain position.

The operational adjustment of the battery thermostat is carried out with a handle with a printed scale and numbers (designations). As a rule, the smooth adjustment range is 16-28 °C, and in the “*” position, the valve will maintain an air temperature of 6-7 °C, so that defrosting does not happen.

In conclusion, a few words about the compatibility of thermostats with cast iron heating appliances. In principle, there are no contraindications to the installation, but there are doubts about the effectiveness of thermostats. Cast iron batteries are massive and contain a lot of water, and therefore are inertial and will respond late to automatic regulation. So here it is preferable to put a conventional valve on the supply and a balancing valve on the return.

To ensure the optimal temperature regime in the room and optimize the cost of utility bills, it is necessary to regulate the rate of flow of the coolant into the radiator. Thermostats for heating batteries do an excellent job with this task.

Consider the features of the operation and installation of various types of thermostats, determine the main criteria for choosing a high-quality, reliable battery thermostat.

The need to use a battery thermostat

When arranging a heating system, many people ask themselves the question: “Do I need a thermostat for a battery?”. Today, when the bills for the heat consumed by the population are steadily increasing, the answer is unequivocal: “Yes”.

Very often, residents of multi-storey buildings are forced to open windows in the winter in order to reduce the heat from heated batteries. The energy of the coolant is spent irrationally. This is especially noticeable for those who have heat meters installed.

The thermostat (thermostat) of heating batteries is a device that controls the microclimate in the room. Some models have the ability to program the temperature regime for different times of the day (day / night) and every single day.

Using a thermostat with a heat meter in combination is an effective way to reduce the cost of space heating

Additional benefits of battery thermostats include:

The purchase and installation of a battery thermostat in private houses and cottages pays off in one heating season

Installing a thermostat for radiators in heating apartments is especially relevant for rooms with significant temperature fluctuations: kitchen, living room and "sunny" rooms.

Types of thermostats: device and principle of operation

Consider the classification of thermostats for batteries according to two main criteria:

  1. According to the principle of regulation:
    • mechanical;
    • automatic.
  2. According to the type of working substance of the thermal head:
    • gas-filled;
    • liquid.

Mechanical thermostats

The mechanical thermostat for the battery consists of two main parts:

  • thermostatic valve;
  • high sensitivity element (thermal head).

The mechanism works smoothly and reliably without attracting energy from outside. The composition of the thermal head includes: a regulator, a drive, as well as a gas or liquid working element.

The principle of operation of a mechanical thermostat is as follows:

  1. Under the influence of temperature, the volume of the coolant in the heating system changes.
  2. The bellows perceives the changes that have occurred and moves the control spool. The movement of the spool is associated with any change in room temperature.

The sensitive element (liquid, gas) reacts by moving the rod - such a change in stroke allows you to regulate and control the supply of coolant to the radiator.

The operation of the thermostat can be affected by various factors:

  • draft or ventilation of the room;
  • outdoor temperature;
  • sunlight;
  • the presence of other sources of heat or cold near the thermostat (refrigerator, heater, hot water pipeline).

Electronic thermostats

Electronic thermostats are programmable microprocessor devices for adjusting and maintaining the temperature regime of housing. The thermostat automatically controls the elements of the heating system (pump, boiler, mixer). It is enough for the consumer to set the desired temperature, and the built-in sensor will regulate it throughout the entire heating season.

The main element of the electronic temperature controller is a temperature sensor that transmits information about the temperature indicators of the zone in which it is installed. The thermostat reacts to the information and optimizes the mode to the set temperature.

Digital thermostats with closed and open logic are widely used.

Electronic thermostats with closed logic have a constant, clearly defined algorithm of work, which does not depend on the environment. You can control only the main parameters. For domestic use, such a thermostat is quite enough.

Electronic thermostats with open logic have free programming and are able to adapt to any system in which it will be used. More often, such devices are used in industrial areas, since programming and changing settings takes a lot of time and must be performed by highly qualified specialists.

In everyday life are often used and conventional electronic thermostats, similar to mechanical counterparts, but with an electronic display. They operate in simple mode. For their operation, it is enough to set the temperature, which will be constantly maintained, or set the allowable range of temperature fluctuations.

Electronic thermostats are battery operated and come with a charger.

Liquid and gas-filled thermostats

The working medium of a thermal head is usually a gas or liquid (paraffin). I must say that the cheaper and more common are liquid thermostats. However, gas-filled thermostats respond more accurately and faster to changes in pressure inside the bellows.

Advantages of the design of a gas-filled thermostat:

  • gas condensation occurs in the cooled part of the device, remote from the valve body, so the operation of the thermostat does not depend on the temperature of the water (heat carrier);
  • The thermostat is very sensitive to temperature fluctuations in the room, which allows you to effectively control heat gain.

Installation of thermostats on radiators

Thermostat installation diagrams for one- and two-pipe heating systems

When installing a thermostat on a battery in a single-pipe system, you will have to change the radiator connection diagram and install an additional jumper - a bypass.

The bypass will connect the direct and return supply of the coolant. This will allow the coolant to run during the shutdown of the battery. In addition, it will be possible to dismantle the radiator - just close the valves (3 and 4 in the figure).

In a two-pipe heating system, the thermostat is installed on the upper supply pipe, and a valve is mounted on the lower one.

Explanation of designations:

  • supply riser;
  • battery;
  • mechanical or electronic thermostat;
  • bottom valve;
  • air vent;
  • bypass (jumper);
  • reverse riser;
  • plug.

Rules for competent installation

The thermostat will work smoothly and efficiently if it is installed correctly, in compliance with all the rules:

The sequence of mounting the thermostat on the battery

Consider the installation of a thermostat on a heating battery in stages:

The bypass diameter must be one size smaller than the diameter of the supply pipes. For example, for a ¾ inch pipeline, the diameter of the termination section should be ½ inch

Setting the thermostat

After installation, the mechanical thermostat must be adjusted - set the optimum temperature in the room. To do this, the following steps are performed:

In electronic thermostats, it is enough to set the desired temperature on the display. If the functionality allows, you can choose the temperature regime for daytime and nighttime, for different days of the week, for example, intensive heating of the room on weekends, and economical heating on weekdays. This mode is optimal for country houses and cottages, where the owners appear only for the weekend.

In order to buy a thermostat for a heating battery and not regret your purchase over time, you need to take a responsible approach to choosing a thermostat and take into account some important points:

From an economic point of view, the use of battery thermostats is especially effective in private houses and cottages with autonomous heating, in apartments with a centralized supply of coolant, the use of thermostats improves the microclimate of the room by setting a more comfortable temperature regime.

The use of temperature control is caused by the need to provide comfortable conditions in the premises according to individual requests. Temperature control directly affects fuel consumption in autonomous heating. In the absence of regulation and monitoring, the room will be hot, and there will be a need for constant ventilation. High temperatures increase humidity and cause fungal diseases.

There are several levels of temperature control:

  1. Boiler control (in autonomous heating version);
  2. Control on the distribution manifold or individual branches of the heating system;
  3. Adjustment on heating devices.

The first type is of a qualitative nature - a general temperature level for all consumers is set on the heat source. This process is carried out manually on the panel of the boiler unit or by installing a weather-compensated automation system to control the operation of the boiler in automatic mode, depending on environmental conditions.

Control on distribution manifolds, heating branches is a quantitative regulation - in this case, a change in the value of the mass flow rate of the coolant occurs. Branch adjustment is also of a general nature. The regulation on the collector is effective in the case of the layout of the heating system according to the collector-beam scheme.

The last step of control is adjustment on heating devices. It is the most efficient and accurate. On each device, you can set an individual mode for each room.

These methods are based on manual adjustment by the operation of the equipment and can be time consuming and general in nature. In these cases, the control mechanisms are boiler control units, manual shut-off and control valves (control valves, ball valves, special connection units for radiators and convectors).

Installing a thermostat on the battery allows you to automate the control of the temperature regime of the device. The use of thermostats is possible on factory-made heating devices and distribution manifolds.

How to install the thermostat on the battery correctly? Installing a thermostat on a battery is not a particularly complicated process; you need to have basic skills in working with threaded connections.

Mounting the thermostat on the radiator is carried out according to the following scheme:

  1. If there are several heating devices in the room, the thermal head is set to the most powerful one;
  2. Water is drained from the heater;
  3. An “American” pre-wound with synthetic thread or linen is wrapped in the radiator pass-through plug;
  4. The thermostatic valve is connected at the inlet to the thread of the pipeline (thermostats are installed only for the supply of coolant to the device);
  5. The valve is connected to the "American" drive;
  6. Pressure testing of mounted connections is carried out (the radiator is filled with coolant);
  7. At the next stage, the thermal head is installed - it is screwed onto the thread or fastened with clamps with latches (locks);

The thermal head is installed horizontally to reduce the influence of the hot surface of the heater. An anti-vandal housing is sometimes installed on the thermal head.

The temperature setting is done empirically (experimentally). Often the adjustment scale does not correspond to the overall temperature in the room. The scale with divisions is adjusted in the laboratory, and in living quarters the thermal head can be affected by drafts and other factors.

The installation of thermostats will free the owner of the premises from constant manual control, provide a comfortable temperature in individual rooms, and reduce fuel costs.

Installing a thermostat on the radiator allows you to control the flow of coolant into the heating device. Thus, comfortable temperature conditions are provided for residents, as well as protection from emergency cases when it is necessary to disconnect pipe sections from the heating system.

For the functions described above, one of the three types of control valves is used:

  • cone valve;
  • ball valve;
  • automatic regulator.

Ball valves do not cope well with temperature control, as they work in two positions: open or closed. If you install the faucet in an intermediate position, its tightness will be lost, since the coolant will destroy the ball element.

A cone valve is a more efficient way to control temperature. It can be in the half-open position. At the same time, we must not forget about the need to return it to the starting position. This method of temperature control is inconvenient and labor-intensive.

The best option for temperature control is the use of automatic thermostats mounted next to the batteries. Another name for these devices is thermostats.

The thermostat is a sealed chamber (the so-called bellows), which is filled with a working medium. When the temperature rises, the coolant expands and the bellows straightens. Then the shut-off valve blocks the flow of the coolant into the battery, thus reducing the temperature in the room.

Temperature controllers can be designed to work in one-pipe or two-pipe systems.

Thermostat circuit

The thermostat includes a thermal head and a special valve. These mechanisms work without consuming energy and maintaining communication with each other.

The thermal head has a drive, a regulator and a liquid component, which can be changed to a gas or elastic one.

Thermostat design

Thermostat components:

  • thermal valve;
  • thermal element;
  • sensitive element;
  • spool valve;
  • connector;
  • transfer rod;
  • union nut;
  • compensatory mechanism;
  • retainer ring;
  • scale.

There are two types of thermostats on the market: liquid and gas. All of them must be certified. The average service life of such devices is approximately 20 years.

  • thoughtful design that fits well into any interior;
  • comfortable temperature control;
  • ease of installation;
  • the possibility of operation throughout the entire period of service without carrying out preventive maintenance and maintenance;
  • after installing the thermostat on the battery, there is no need to open the windows to lower the too high temperature in the room;
  • thermostats operate at a user-selected temperature - from 5 to 27 degrees;
  • devices allow you to evenly distribute the heat carrier throughout the heating system;
  • thermostats allow you to avoid excessive heating of the air if the room is heated by sunlight or electrical appliances;
  • thermostat allows you to save up to a quarter of fuel consumption;
  • installation of the device allows you to improve the microclimate in the house;
  • the use of thermostats is optimal in private homes, where they usually pay for themselves within one year.

Gas-filled or liquid thermostats respond more actively to temperature fluctuations in the room. Liquid thermostats more accurately respond to changes in the internal pressure in the corrugated cylinder and more effectively direct it to the actuating part of the mechanism.

Liquid thermostat

The designs of thermostats filled with gas are characterized by a number of significant advantages:

  • Gas condensation takes place in the coldest section of the device, which is furthest from the valve body. As a result, the reaction occurs quickly, since the process does not depend on the water temperature.
  • This type of thermostat reacts quickly to the temperature dynamics in the building, which ensures efficient heat supply.

The functioning of the regulator is affected by the following circumstances:

  • the presence of direct sunlight;
  • air circulation in the room;
  • temperature conditions outside the building;
  • extraneous sources of cold or heat in the room.

In private buildings, thermostats are primarily installed on the upper floors, since the heated air goes to the top and the temperature difference between the upper and lower levels of the house varies greatly. Regulators must be placed horizontally on the pipes, near the point of entry into the heater.

In a private house, it is most rational to install low-capacity panel batteries and equip them with thermostats that quickly respond to manipulations with thermostatic valves. However, at the same time, radiators covered with curtains, decorative coatings or grilles, as well as other objects, should be avoided.

Otherwise, the possibility of a correct assessment of the temperature regime in the room will be impaired. This recommendation can be circumvented by installing a remote sensor located at a distance of 2-7 meters from the valve, which will allow you to control the temperature near the location of the control device.

Panel radiator with thermostat

Note! In apartment buildings, the installation of a thermostat should be started where temperature fluctuations are especially noticeable: kitchen, main room, rooms exposed to direct sunlight.

Before installing the thermostat, turn off the supply riser. We drain the water from the heating system.

Any system requires control, including heating. A thermostat can handle this task. The main function of the device is to control the level of coolant supply. It mounts directly to the battery input line. A thermostat for a heating radiator is used to control the temperature level in a room. In this case, you need to know how to choose the right device and how to properly mount it. This is what we will talk about in this review.

thermostat

A thermostat is a device that is installed at the inlet to the battery to control the flow of heat carrier. This device provides a comfortable temperature and saves money if meters are installed or there is a heating boiler. It allows you to disconnect a separate battery from the network, that is, it acts as a shut-off valve.

The greatest benefit from a thermostat for a heating radiator is felt in those rooms where the temperature fluctuates throughout the day. For example, in a kitchen with south-facing windows.

Temperature control is carried out using a valve that is installed in front of the device. Thanks to modern developments, you can choose a model that fits perfectly into the interior of the room.

Options for thermostats for heating batteries

All thermostats work on the same principle: a movable valve inside the kit opens and closes the inlet flow in the circuit, depending on the parameters or type of thermostat. The bellows, which reacts to fluctuations in air temperature and interacts with the stem that opens the valve, is the main part.

The unit is divided into two options:

  • Liquid valve. The bellows fills with liquid and expands, thereby responding to changes. It has the best response to pressure fluctuations, at a low cost (about 250 rubles).
  • Gas filled regulator. It has an almost instantaneous response to temperature fluctuations.

The device is affected by the following parameters:

  • Sunlight or drafts.
  • Outside temperature.
  • Auxiliary heat sources.
  • Installation in closed areas.

And also all units can be divided into subgroups according to the type of work.

Types of thermostats

Heating regulators for batteries can be classified according to the principle of operation:

  • Mechanical;
  • Electronic.

Each variety has its pros and cons.

Mechanical

The advantages include the absence of the need for food from the outside. The work is based on the physical ability of substances to expand when heated. In appearance, they resemble a valve with markings on the upper part, on which the temperature from +14 to +28 ° C is applied. It must be mounted in a horizontal position.

A mechanical thermostat for a heating radiator will give you the following advantages:

  • Save on the power carrier of the device and the cost itself.
  • Ease of operation.
  • Works completely autonomously.
  • There is no need to change the temperature regime in your absence.

Due to its merits, the device is in great demand.

Electronic

An automatic thermostat for a heating radiator controls the flow of coolant without external participation. The device has a built-in screen or panel with buttons.

The thermostat is equipped with a built-in or remote remote control sensor capable of capturing data on changes in air temperature. You can control it from a distance of up to four meters.

Helpful information! The electronic thermostat has the ability to program the temperature for certain hours, depending on the time of day.

The adjustment process itself occurs due to the bellows and. Additional features significantly increase the cost of the device. At the same time, the thermostat itself is able not only to reduce or increase the temperature in the room, but also to limit the flow of liquid, that is, to act as an automatic shut-off valve.

Electric thermal valves for heating will give you the following advantages in the operation of the entire circuit:

  • Even in your absence, it will independently regulate the temperature.
  • You can set the maintenance of the minimum temperature for non-residential premises, which will be enough for the life of flowers.
  • Setting comfortable modes for different times of the day.

And also all automatic units are divided into:

  • closed logic
  • With open.

In the first case, the indicators are exposed. It is good for adjusting the home temperature.

In the second case, with open logic, the equipment is able to adapt to any system on its own. Only setting up such a unit already requires special skills and abilities, therefore it is used on an industrial scale.

The design of temperature controllers on heating radiators

The design features of the devices differ from the heating system. So, there are options for single-pipe and two-pipe systems.

At the same time, all mechanical thermostats are equipped with a sensitive head and a special valve that function with each other without additional energy consumption, since the connection is automatic.

The thermal head includes a drive, a regulator and the liquid element itself (gas or elastic). And also the design includes a thermoelement (bellows) - a device that is made in the form of a cylinder, and the walls on the inside are corrugated. This cylinder is filled with a working medium and reacts to a change in temperature.

As the temperature rises, the bellows expands and the stem closes off the heat carrier flow. As the temperature decreases, the opposite processes occur.

Helpful information! Manufacturers guarantee a long service life of the bellows, which can withstand more than a thousand compression/expansion cycles.

The electric thermostat in the configuration will have additional sensors and a programming system that allows you to set certain temperature conditions.

Choosing a device

To choose a thermostat for a heating radiator, you should determine the technical parameters of the installed heating system. Namely, before buying, you need to know:

  • Valve dimensions. Measure the diameter of the plug in the battery or where installation is planned.
  • One or two pipe system. With two pipes, the load on the thermostat is higher, therefore, it is necessary to choose equipment with a higher level of hydraulic resistance.
  • If the system is with a circulation pump, then the description of the thermostat will indicate whether it is suitable for it.

And also on your own or after consulting with the seller, choose the type of thermostat for yourself:

  • Mechanics or automation.
  • liquid or gas.
  • Temperature (from 5 to 30 degrees Celsius).
Note! Decide on the installation site before purchasing, in order to know whether you will need a straight or at an angle of 90 degrees.

Prices will vary between manufacturers, and they will be influenced by the mechanical or automatic temperature sensor for heating you choose.

For example, here is a table with an approximate cost.

Mounting the device

The process of installing equipment is simple, but if you do not want to carry it out yourself, you can always turn to professionals.

Instruction:

  • Disconnect the battery from the system. To do this, close the ball valve or shut-off valve. Then drain the water from the battery, blow out the radiator.
  • Remove the adapter. Before doing this, lay on the floor a lot of rags that absorb liquid. Secure the valve body with an adjustable wrench, and with the other remove the nut from the adapter tube. Next, remove the adapter from the instrument case.

  • Installing the adapter. Screw on the union nut and collar. At the same time, pre-clean the thread, and wrap it with a locking tape. Wrap should be clockwise, doing 3-5 times, then smooth the tape. Assemble adapter, heatsink and angle nuts together.
  • Mount the new collar. Install the collar and cap nut on the pipe. All actions are performed with a screwdriver.
  • Installation of a thermostat. Fasten the device in the direction of the arrows. Shade the nut between the regulator and the valve, fixing is done with an adjustable wrench. Tighten the nut at the same time. Do all actions carefully. After installation, make sure the fastening is secure.
  • Fill the battery with water.

Installing a thermostat is our answer to rising tariffs!

To control the temperature in the room, it is most rational to use automatic temperature controllers, which have undeniable advantages over traditional shut-off and control valves, such as a ball valve and a cone valve.

Such a device is especially relevant in a situation of ever-increasing tariffs for housing and communal services.

Advantages of thermostats

Modern thermostats have an ergonomic design that fits perfectly into the interior of the room;

Thermoregulators are quite simply mounted in both new and existing heating systems. They can be operated without preventive maintenance and maintenance throughout the entire service life, which, thanks to a simple and reliable design, can reach several decades;

There is no need to constantly open / close windows to control the temperature in the room;

Thermoregulators are designed for operation in the temperature range from 5 °C to 27 °C. The required temperature is set to any value of this range and is maintained with an accuracy of 1°C;

If direct sunlight enters the room or if electrical appliances are turned on, the thermostat will exclude unnecessary heating of the air;

Using thermostats in autonomous heating systems, you save fuel up to 25%!

The installation of thermostats is most justified in the heating systems of private houses and cottages, where the evenness of comfortable temperature across floors is important. In addition, maximum energy savings are achieved.
In conditions of centralized heating (apartment), the thermostat is indispensable for smooth regulation of air temperature.
