Content

A kind of needlework is ribbon embroidery, which helps to create spectacular volumetric patterns on clothes or other items. Novice craftswomen should learn the basic secrets of performing the technique, learn how to choose materials, and perform basic elements. Then, when embroidering, you can give room to imagination, try out complex patterns.

Ribbon embroidery technique for beginners

Beautiful and attractive ribbon embroidery for beginners has several secrets for choosing tools and materials. Here's what you need to know about the step-by-step technique:

  • Embroidery ribbons can be of any material and width. It is optimal to buy silk, satin or satin strips 7-25 mm wide for embroidery.
  • The fabric or canvas for embroidery should be of a high density for the stitches to be held securely. A beginner craftswoman can practice using a special canvas and embroidery patterns, and only then start decorating handbags, blouses or gloves. To make your work easier, you can transfer the design directly onto the fabric.
  • Embroidery hoop - suitable for wood or plastic. Their purpose is to stretch the fabric and secure it for a flat embroidery surface.
  • Needles - Beginners will need special tools that differ from classic sewing tools. They have a wide eyelet that allows the ribbon to pass freely. It is important to balance the thickness of the needle with the strength of the fabric. The instrument should be chosen smooth, without signs of rust, with a blunt end, so that when inserted into the fabric, the fibers do not break with a sharp edge, but move apart.
  • From auxiliary tools, beginners will need scissors, a lighter, matches, pliers and an awl. The latter are used when embroidering on thick fabrics. It is useful to purchase special markers for drawing, which disappear 2 days after application.

How to learn to embroider basic elements with ribbons

After purchasing necessary tools beginners begin needlework and threading a ribbon into a needle. To do this, you need to cut off one end in a straight line, and the other at an angle. The first is burned with fire, and the last is inserted into the eyelet with a slight stretch. Then you need to insert the needle into the pulled out part in the middle, holding the needle with your hand, pull on the burned end to make a knot near the ear.

A beginner's embroidery master class should start step by step with the basic elements:

  1. Straight (ribbon) stitch - thread the needle from the wrong side, insert it back, holding the strip.
  2. Japanese (curl) stitch - insert the needle to the right side. Straighten the strip and place it on the fabric, insert the needle into the middle of the strip, and then into the corner of the fabric.
  3. Twisted (stem) seam - remove the needle from the inside out, turn it over so that the ribbon twists, insert it from the front side.
  4. French knot - remove the needle from the inside out, wrap the strip around the needle several times, thread it back next to the exit point.
  5. Loop (air stitch) - remove the needle from the inside out, put a pencil under the strip, wrap it around, insert the needle into the same exit point.
  6. Loop with attachment - performed in the same way as a simple loop, only in the center there is an attachment of a bead, bead or a French knot made of a thin ribbon.

How to embroider a bud with ribbons

Simple classic ribbon embroidery for beginners begins step by step with creating a bud. It will require ribbons of two colors and neat work according to the scheme:

  1. Draw a circle on the product, put a point in the center. Divide the template into segments.
  2. Withdraw the needle with a ribbon in the middle from the inside out, thread it back at the same point, leaving a loop with a radius equal to the circle on the front side. Pass the needle over your face exactly along the line of the circle.
  3. Pass the needle inside the loop, pull it to get the petal from the center to the line. Insert the needle at the exit point on the face to grab the loop. Insert from the front side, tighten the second short loop. Lay nicely.
  4. Repeat for 8 petals, then sew in a different color.

Embroidery with satin ribbons of petals

Any simple ribbon embroidery for beginners includes floral motifs step by step, so it is important to know how to embroider classic petals according to the pattern:

  1. Draw a circle, place a point in the center of the sketch.
  2. Withdraw the needle from the inside out in the middle of the circle, draw the strip face up to the line of the circle, straighten the folds at the point of withdrawal. With a needle, connect the edges 5 mm further than the circle line. Run from the inside out to the face of one edge, repeat the other way around for the other.
  3. When you pull the tape over the edges, you will get a knot at the end of the petal. You need to wrap the end of the petal and the ribbon over it so that the petal remains convex. Insert the needle into the strip along the circle line on top of the petal, pull it out to the wrong side.
  4. Tighten the knot so that you get a convex petal at the base, wrapped up and inward.

Sewing stalks with ribbons

When flowers and buds are ready, novice craftswomen learn to embroider stems and leaves. You need to do this step by step according to the following lesson:

  1. The stems are embroidered with twisted stitches: stick the needle over your face, turn with your fingers to twist the material, pierce the ribbon in the right place, bring the needle to the wrong side. To secure, thread a needle onto the face near the puncture site, form a knot and take it to the wrong side.
  2. The leaves are embroidered step by step with ribbon stitches: straighten the ribbon on the face, pierce at a point 2/3 of the length, return to the wrong side, adjust the tension. Repeat the required number of times.

Floral ribbon embroidery for beginners

A simple lesson for beginners is to embroider a rosebud for a picture step by step:

  1. With a thread in the color of the strip, make 5 stitches to obtain rays from one center - the outline of the flower.
  2. Insert the ribbon into the needle, make a knot - at a short distance from the edge, stick the needle in the middle, holding the fabric, tie a flat knot.
  3. Withdraw the needle with the tape over the face, wrap 5 rays in succession so that the fabric looks with the shiny side up. The ribbon should pass alternately under the beam and above it. Wrap the base thread sequentially, in a spiral, so that the rose petals turn out in a checkerboard pattern.

Lesson of embroidery of lilac flowers for a picture for novice needlewomen step by step:

  1. You will need 2 needles - with ribbon and thread. Bring both to the front, make 2 stitches along the ribbon, 1 across, 2 along, 1 across.
  2. Pull the thread, pull off the ribbon to get a flower.

Using silk and satin ribbons, needlewomen create truly magnificent things by means of embroidery. This type of creativity is extremely fashionable today. Craftswomen use this technique to embroider landscapes and animals, still lifes and subject paintings. And just luxuriously they get the embroidery of flowers with ribbons.

Selection of fabric for the base

Embroidering flowers with ribbons for beginners can seem daunting. Therefore, you should start learning from scratch. In order for the embroidery of flowers with ribbons to be of high quality, beautiful, you must first choose the right tools and materials for work. The result depends on this in the first place.

It is very important that the base fabric on which the flowers will be embroidered with ribbons is strong enough, because the stitches must be securely fixed. But do not forget that the fabric should easily pass the needle with the ribbon. Most often, craftswomen use tapestry, linen, canvas for embroidery.

Sometimes a color drawing is already printed on the canvas. It is very easy to embroider flowers with ribbons on it - schemes are not required in this case.

Selection of ribbons for embroidery

An interior item, created with your own hands, will decorate even the most modest dwelling, bring comfort and even some luxury to the room, add charm to a rich environment.

It is very important to choose the right shades of ribbons. Sometimes you have to combine several of their types, because the flower itself can have different tones at different points. To the middle, for example, it is darker and richer, and to the edges - softer and lighter.

To make the embroidery as naturalistic as possible, silk, satin, corrugated and nylon (organza) ribbons are used that are suitable in color and shades. Their width ranges from two to fifty millimeters.

Device for work

Every embroiderer knows how important it is to have a good comfortable embroidery frame. Only if the base on which the flowers are embroidered with ribbons is sufficiently stretched, you can count on getting a high-quality result.

The hoops are round, up to fifty centimeters in diameter. Small-scale work is performed on them. But for large paintings The craftswoman will need a stationary hoop that resembles an easel for drawing.

Selection of needles for embroidery

Handicrafts should not only be aimed at results. The process of work itself is a pleasure, a way to relieve stress, to get the joy of creation. Therefore, every little thing can be important.

Special attention should be drawn to the needles. The usual ones will not work here. Embroidery with satin ribbons of flowers is performed with special needles, chenille or tapestry, with a wide eyelet. The tape should be easily threaded through them. The craftswoman will need needles from the thirteenth to the eighteenth size and one for embroidery with beads (No. 26).

It is best to use blunt needles that move the warp threads apart, while sharp needles can tear them.

How to insert the tape into the needle

Usually for this stage of work the embroiderer needs scissors and a lighter. The tape is cut to the required length. one tip is melted so that it does not bloom.

The second edge of the tape is cut "to a corner". The sharp tip of the tape is guided into the eye of the needle and pulled to the very end. The brazed edge should linger around the hole.

Narrow ribbons no more than 4 mm wide are tied at the end with an ordinary knot. It should be of such a size that it does not slip into the ear. Wide tapes are fixed at the end with a "pillow" knot. To do this, the scorched edge needs to be rolled up a couple of times, the bend should be about 1 cm wide. Having pierced the resulting "pad" in the middle with a needle, pull the tape through it.

Stitching methods

Everyone understands that working with ribbons is different from ordinary embroidery. There are different types of stitches that a needlewoman needs to master. This is necessary for the craftswoman so that the picture has a great resemblance to natural fresh flowers, so that beautiful and accurate embroidery with ribbons is obtained.

Bouquets of flowers with lush buds look luxurious when added with another method. It is based on folding the inner part of the bud and then sewing the opened petals into the embroidered rows.

Embroidery of flowers with ribbons. Master class: "Roses"

Almost all people like luxurious and delicate roses. It turns out that embroidering these flowers is not so difficult if you follow step by step instructions... Even a novice needlewoman can master the lesson.

Start by pulling the base fabric over the hoop.

Making an inner rosebud

  1. The tip of the tape, 5 cm wide, is bent at an angle of 45 degrees.
  2. The resulting sharp corner is rolled up into a tube. About three turns are done.
  3. The working tape is bent outward, fixed at the very bottom of the bud with a regular needle and thread and cut off. At the same time, the lower part of the workpiece is also stitched so that it does not disintegrate.

The execution of the flower itself

  1. You need to embroider a rose with an ordinary ribbon stitch with a shortened step. It looks like a loop and is pretty straightforward. A tape inserted into the eye of a needle with a knot-"cushion" pierces the base from the inside out. The tape is displayed on the front side of the work.
  2. At a distance of 2 centimeters from the entry point of the tape, the needle is brought out to the wrong side. It turns out a loop.
  3. The second petal is placed very close to the first. Therefore, a new puncture from the inside out with a needle is made every 3-4 mm.
  4. The second petal-"loop" is made in the same way.
  5. The petals are made in a circle, side by side, straightening the tape and giving it the desired shape.
  6. After half of the row of petals is made, a bud, which was made in advance, is inserted into the middle. It needs to be secured with a regular needle and thread.
  7. Next, you should continue to embroider the row. It should fit snugly enough to the bud.
  8. The next row of petals is similar. The denser the petals are in relation to each other, the more magnificent the ribbon embroidery will look.
  9. Flower leaves and unopened buds are made a little differently. You can start this stage of work after the embroidery of all large flowers is completed.

Leaves of flowers and cups with unopened buds

Combined Embroidery Patterns

Craftsmen often use several techniques in one job. For example, the painting "Flower lawn at the edge of the forest" looks amazing. Cross stitching is performed. The sky, the forest itself and top part the lawns should be the backdrop against which the wildflowers are embroidered with ribbons.

Many daisies usually grow in the meadow. Straight stitches are used for their embroidery. The tape is needed with a width of 1 cm to 1.5. You can use the curl stitch to embroider daisies. It successfully imitates the natural curves of the petals. When performing this stitch, the needle first pierces the tape before coming out on the wrong side of the warp (option one in the figure with stitches).

The core of the flowers is made with yellow floss threads in the "rococo" method or with loops.

Field poppies look just as beautiful. They are also not difficult to fulfill. One row of petals is embroidered with bright red ribbons in the same way that roses are embroidered. A core is placed in the center of the flower.

It is sewn separately from green satin in the form of a ball stuffed with padding polyester. With black threads, a floss is pulled from the middle to the edges, dividing it into five parts with radii. From the bottom of the ball, a fringe is made of loops. Fasten the core with a needle and thread. You can carefully paint the ends of the fringe with white gouache or toothpaste.

The flower stalks are made of green ribbons. You can twist the ribbon into a bundle while sewing stitches, making the stem thin. It is even recommended to fasten it with ordinary threads. Unopened poppy buds are embroidered according to the algorithm described for a pink bouquet.

Patterns for embroidery

Embroidery of flowers with ribbons will help to create a thing that gives joy to the eye. You can draw schemes for work yourself or translate any drawing you like onto tracing paper. Then the pattern should be transferred to the fabric.

Having placed tracing paper with a pattern on the base, it is fastened with a thread with a seam "forward needle" so that after that you can easily remove both the stitches and the tracing paper itself. With a needle, frequent tattoos are made along the contours of objects that are planned to be placed on the embroidery.

After this procedure, the puncture sites are rubbed with crayon. After removing the tracing paper, a chalk outline of the drawing will remain on the base. Its outline can be outlined with a pencil for convenience. Only during embroidery should you try to position the objects so that the trail of the auxiliary lines is hidden under the stitches.

Today a water-disappearing marker has appeared with a self-disappearing track after two days. When working with them, the craftswoman does not need to worry at all that auxiliary lines will spoil the finished work. The only inconvenience is that the embroidery should be finished before the contour of the pattern disappears.

Some needlewomen use prints on fabrics, canvas for cross stitching or beads as patterns, where there is already a pattern in color.

Embroidery ribbons is rapidly gaining popularity in recent times... Quite simple, fast, but at the same time very effective embroidery technique is gaining more and more fans every day.
I suggest that those who have not yet tried their hand at this type of embroidery - try ..

First, we need fabric. Basically - ribbons can be embroidered on almost any fabric - from organza and silk to knitwear and velvet.
I think for a start it is still better to take some kind of natural fabric (or with a small addition of synthetics). Medium density and hardness.
I don’t have simple fabrics at hand now, so I will embroider in Lugano.

The needles must always have a wide eye.
Best of all, chenille needles - a wide eye and a sharp tip.

If there are no such, you can sew with tapestry - a wide eyelet and a blunt tip, but it will be much more difficult.

You may also need a regular sewing needle with a sharp tip

I suggest this motive for embroidery:

Those. - we will embroider a heart. A small motif is used to change the shape of the finished embroidery. Those. - if there is a desire, they can fill in the empty spaces .. For example:

Or

The scheme, in principle, is not decisive, since the number of colors and their arrangement in the picture will depend on the ribbons you have and personal preferences. We need it for a general idea - in which part of the heart, what we will embroider ...

By tapes

We proceed from what is available at your home or in stores.
I have ribbons in three sizes: 2mm, 3mm and 5mm.
It turns out that my flowers will be small enough

Ribbon color:

Green - one tone is required, if desired - you can use two or three shades
other colors - three shades. Of these: two (more possible) in the same color scheme - for example - red and pink, one to choose from - for example, blue (you can also use more shades)

If it’s really tight with a choice, you can use one color .. no big deal. There will be just flowers of the same color.

We are not afraid to replace colors, improvise.

Attaching tapes to the needle and fabric

You do not need to cut a long ribbon - otherwise it will be worn out during the embroidery process and wrinkled - I cut off about 40 cm

Making a knot for attaching the tape to the fabric
Cut one end of the tape straight. Fold the ribbon

We pierce with a needle

And we stretch the ribbon right through to the very end - a neat knot is obtained at the tip of the ribbon

Just in case - a diagram

We fasten the tape on a needle.

Cut the second end of the tape at an angle - this way it will be easier to insert it into the needle:

We pierce the tip of the tape with a needle, about a centimeter from the edge

We pull on the long end of the tape so that the punctured hole is pulled up to the eye of the needle:

Now we take by the short tip, pull it to the end of the eye of the needle and remove it from the needle, as if sewing the tape

We carefully tighten the whole thing

Embroidery size

I would like you to learn not just to embroider according to a ready-made scheme and precise instructions, but to improvise, focusing on the available materials, and not on instructions in books or magazines. Moreover, there is nothing complicated about it ...

Each of us can draw a heart of the size that he needs. This is just a form - which we will already be filling out with embroidery.

The scheme will be needed only in order to roughly navigate - in which zone of the heart which flowers to embroider.
Simply, depending on the ribbons used, the size of the heart, each will have a different number of flowers.

For example - you will have five large, and I have 15 small

I made the size based on the size of the available cloth: roll

My heart in the widest part horizontally turned out to be 14 cm
I marked the contour with dots with a water-washable marker

In the first part of the lesson, we fill in the area marked with blue in the diagram.

It is not at all necessary to make the same number of flowers - you can make the flowers smaller, but in more. Or fewer large flowers.
Pay attention - there is free space between the flowers - for the leaves.

For orientation, I first embroidered one flower, looked - whether or not I was satisfied with its appearance and size, and only then I marked the canvas for the rest of the flowers

Rosette on a spider web

We will fill the selected area with roses embroidered on a spider web.
A spider web can be made from floss threads, or from the same ribbon with which you are embroidering.
We will do in the second way

If you have a good eye, you can do without the markup: wink
We mark a circle for the future flower - mine has a diameter of about 2.5 cm.We divide into five sectors

I hope it will be clear from the photos. Making a spider web

The next photo shows that having made the last ray, we do not bring the needle to the wrong side, but we drag the ribbon under the already embroidered rays

We begin to form a rose, alternately stretching the ribbon under or above the rays of the cobweb

The last stitch: we bring the tape to the wrong side and fasten there

On the wrong side

It is better not to straighten the ribbons too much - this way the rose turns out to be fluffier and more natural.
Choose the degree of tension yourself - there is someone who likes it. I am making a tight flower (I just got used to it) You can make the tension of the ribbons weaker - the flower will look a little different
try .. experiment ..: flowers:

As I said - after sewing the first rose - I marked where I will embroider the rest of the roses

I decided to make roses in three colors: pale blue, light blue and bluish-turquoise

Fill the pink sector with flowers

Take a ribbon from a long = 12.5 * width of the ribbon. Plus 2-3 mm on the sides - burn them with a lighter. We mark the tape into five pieces of 2.5 * tape width

Sew the needle with a seam forward with ordinary threads of matching color, as shown in the figure

We take the ends of the thread, tighten the assembly and tie the threads

We cut off one tail of the thread, and thread the second into the needle and sew the flower onto the fabric. We make stitches in the area of the center where the tape is gathered.

With a 2mm ribbon we make French knots in the center.

Choose the number of twists around the needle yourself - I did only one loop. You can make the Frenchmen not with a ribbon, but with a floss. Or sew on beads or beads.

I was unable to take a picture of the process - it is inconvenient to take a picture with one hand and at the same time twist the tape and hold it. Therefore - who does not know - how to make Frenchmen - watch the video:

We make the required number of flowers:

We make a half-open flower from a ribbon divided into three parts (according to the same principle we divide it as for 5 petals)

We make a bud from one segment of the ribbon:

Sew on the fabric in the area where the tape is pulled

Tip: Sew the half-open flower and bud on the fabric a little further from other flowers - keep in mind that we still need to make flower cups.
Varying a different number of buds, large flowers and half-open ones, you can get your own, completely individual pattern

We make the stamens. Pull the ribbon 2 mm to the front side

We twist the ribbon

We pierce the fabric in the area where we will have the tip of the stamen and holding the ribbon so that it does not unwind, pull it to the wrong side and immediately bring it to the front side making a hole next to the previous one - we embroider a French knot at the tip of the stamen

In the same way we make the required number of stamens. You can make such stamens on large flowers.

We embroider the area marked in yellow:

It is better to mark the middle of the flowers (since we will embroider flowers similar in structure to daisies). The diameter of my finished flowers is 1.5 cm.I took ribbons with a width of 3 mm

The flowers are very simple. We attach the tapes as usual. We draw the ribbon in the area of the small circle and make a stitch to the large circle

We straighten the ribbon so that it is even, not twisted and tighten the stitch - it is called - Straight stitch

Since I decided to make this flower two-color, I make the next stitch through a small gap in which just one more stitch will fit. You can make it tricolor - then you leave room for two stitches. Well, if one color - then we embroider in a row ...

The stitches can be laid symmetrically, or you can show imagination and make different distances between them

We fasten a ribbon of a different color in the needle and begin to fill in the remaining gaps between the stitches.

You can make these stitches a little shorter or longer than the stitches of the first color.

Fill the middle with French knots or beads. My flowers are small, so I made fruzelki with a floss in two folds. How to make French knots - see the First lesson

It seems to me that it turns out somehow incomplete?

This is how we should get the result.

We embroider thin twigs.

On the diagram, I marked them with green and light green colors. Depending on whether you will use one or two colors of ribbons when sewing ribbons, we also determine the color of the branches
If there is one color of ribbons for all sheets - then, of course - we also embroider all branches in one color of a floss.

I took a thin ribbon of light green color - 3 mm for the leaves on the lower branches that form the shape of the heart. There the leaves will be smaller
And on the rest of the tape leaves 3 and 5 mm - green

Choosing a floss that matches the color of the ribbons

We embroider with a regular stalk stitch

My twigs:

On the "hanging" branches, I decided to make buds.
We will embroider them ribbon stitches
I embroidered the buds with 5 mm ribbons

We bring the tape to the front, straighten

We pierce the tape with a needle in the area where you will have the top of the bud and bring the needle with the tape to the wrong side

Straighten the tape

We begin to tighten, forming the top of the bud

For the bud, tighten the ribbon so that the tip is sharp

We do the cups of the buds the same - ribbon stitch(I have a 5 mm tape). We draw the ribbon just below the lowest point of the finished bud

We make a ribbon stitch - as described above, just tighten it harder to get a narrow leaf

We embroider one more piece of paper:

The bottom of the cup - straight stitch(with which we embroidered flowers such as daisies) We display in the lower part of the bud on the left side and go to the wrong side on the right. It turns out, as it were, a loop with which we clasp the bud from below.

Straighten and tighten

With the same ribbon stitch, we embroider the leaves, which are marked in green on the diagram.

Depending on how tight or not you tighten the ribbon in this stitch, the shape of the leaves will change. You can also change the shape of the leaves by piercing the tape not in the center, but to the right or left of the center.

I embroidered leaves on the "hanging" branches with a 5 mm ribbon, and around the roses - with a 1 cm ribbon.

I will embroider the buds in three shades of blue: darker at the base (above), and very light below
I make the buds to match the roses .. but in theory, you can also use a different color .. as if just another flower ...

And here is my heart at this stage:

The twigs in the lower part of the heart, which are marked with a pale green color, are embroidered with a seam, which many embroiderers know as the "lazy daisy"

For this seam, you can straighten the ribbon during the embroidery process, or vice versa - leave it as it will lie (it seems to me - it turns out more naturally) - in general - as you like

Here's what I ended up with:

I filled the voids with beads to match the beige colors

Get closer

I slightly tinted the leaves with ordinary white acrylic paint to muffle the excessive brightness of the ribbons. The intensity of tinting can be varied by thinning the paint with water. I applied paint with a regular brush No. 2

So that is all.

In this article, we will touch upon such a type of needlework as ribbon embroidery, as well as help to understand the general concepts and find suitable prints, drawings, video tutorials from YouTube, photos and much more. It is important to start from the very basics, and also to understand that many are intertwined in one way or another. Therefore, if there is a desire to become experienced craftsman it will be necessary to study knitting, cross-stitch, satin stitch and perfectly use their techniques. We will be happy to offer examples of bouquets of roses, orchids, lilacs, step-by-step lessons and secrets for beginners in different techniques. First of all, paintings will serve to decorate your home, and individually embroidered compositions decorate clothes and interior items. We advise you to pay attention to the schemes of birds, animals, insects, hearts and other floral images.

Beautiful flowers embroidery

Surprisingly, every year there are more and more author's recommendations, new techniques for making stitches and, of course, the layouts themselves. In addition to general concepts, our site also contains advice from professional needlewomen, their creative approach to creating unique masterpieces. Some also use knitting and weaving techniques. Please note also that it can be used in the decoration of objects and celebrations... Each girl, having gained patience and preparing the floss threads, the required lengths of ribbons, needles, different types hoop in diameter and canvas, you can create masterpieces with flowers of poppies, sunflowers and other wildflowers. Many recommend applying the location of the stem and leaves to the fabric in advance, this allows you to better navigate and avoid mistakes.

Fastest ways to finish a canvas edge in 60 seconds

It should also be remembered that small details and edges of the canvas are overcast with a floss thread. This will add definition to the details and preserve and decorate the edge of the fabric. Finishing the edge of the fabric with floss threads with an overlock stitch.

Volumetric embroidery with ribbons of flowers

Interior dahlia as examples on the panel.

Rose and basic postulates

  • On the canvas, you need to create five loops that resemble a star.
  • Through these loops we tighten the ribbon in the same color in a circle, but so that it goes under the loop, then above it.
  • As a result, you get a fairly beautiful bud, which can be supplemented with graceful leaves, beads or beads, which will symbolize dew drops.

Examples of schemes supplemented with lilac twigs.

Lilac twigs and French knot technology

These flowers are the most troublesome. You will need dozens of French knots to create a twig with buds; this is the easiest option. It is necessary to make knots from purple, which will need to be brought as close to each other as possible. It is better to apply the shape to the fabric in advance so that it looks like a triangle.

Lilac patterns also exist in an alternative technique. It consists of cutting many pieces using a thin lilac tape and sewing each piece in a bow shape onto the canvas. We will embroider a dozen of these mini bows, in the end, we get a full flower.

French knot technique illustration.

White and purple lilac flowers in patterns.

Blooming japanese sakura

We start with branches. We create them with 3 shades of floss threads according to the picture. We will make the leaves with such stitches: straight, "leaf" and ribbon stitch with a curl. We will decorate the flowers with an air loop in the center with beads, and they are prepared separately from a nylon ribbon. They are formed with a gathered ribbon and secured to the fabric with a few simple stitches as indicated in the illustration. The hearts of these flowers are also decorated with beads.

"Dancing" is the second name of this beautiful flower. We can use gabardine or any other fabric. For beautiful inflorescences, we take artificial silk. PS is a base for buds. A piece of paper is gradually embroidered with a tape of 7 and 13 mm. We use a tape seam technique. And with a thickness of 1.3 cm, we create buds.

Lush peonies

The idea to perfectly decorate your bedroom in a pleasant pink tone that calms and creates a romantic atmosphere is to create an amazing picture using the peony flower as the main element. Every embroiderer knows that they recommend using dense satin for the buds, for this silk is not suitable. The color of the ribbons and threads should be the same, only the shades may differ. The bud is created with loops that hang in the air. At least 30 such loops are required to achieve volume. The project is complemented by threads for knitting, they are also sewn with long loops under pink ribbons.

You will need a sketch to create a large flower.

We embroider flowers and compositions

The most remarkable and at the same time the simplest option is chamomile. That is why they are so popular with newbies. It is necessary to master a straight seam, with its help we get petals in a circle. It is important to leave the middle not sewn up, so that later it can be supplemented with yellow threads, beads or beads. More experienced craftswomen, for whom this is an already mastered occupation, may be yellow. Who does not know, the knots are performed as follows - we put them on the needle several times and pull them through the formed curls along the entire length. At the end, we get neat knots.

Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the color of the fabric, because a white daisy on a white background will look at least silly. Give your preference to a dark blue or even black base color. You can find any examples and lessons on specialized sites, where each step is described in detail.

Primary requirements:

  • you need to master the PS and
  • contrasting fabric color
  • petals first, then decorate the middle

Hoop the fabric and embroider on contrasting fabric. We draw the petals in a circle, use the PS.

Sunflowers on canvas

To decorate coats, bags, the illustration of sunflowers is very often used. . This is not at all strange, because a bright flower flaunting on a spring coat will remind you of sunny weather and cheer you up. The sunflower is performed almost in the same way as chamomile, the difference will be in the length of the petals, their color and, of course, in the middle. A sunflower petal is formed using the "rolled seam" technique. You will need to pierce not only the fabric using an awl or needle, but also the part of the ribbon that should lie on it. Thus, it turns out that the tip is slightly turned up. The petals on the sunflower should overlap, there should not be much retreat between them, 0.3 cm is enough. Embroidered red poppy flowers

The poppy is executed in scarlet red. It is better to take a satin, unlike silk, it does not fade in the sun, is cheaper, does not fade and perfectly absorbs moisture. For large poppies, a tape of at least 25 mm in diameter is required. Let's draw a circle on the canvas and sew petals on it. It is more convenient to draw with a black felt-tip pen or use a simple pencil. Before fastening to the needle, we burn the edges (ends) with a lighter. Then we pull out a needle with a ribbon from the seamy side of the fabric (we cut one edge at an angle of 25 degrees, pushing it into the eye of the needle, grab it in a bartack) to the front side, the same must be done with a regular thread threaded into a chenille needle No.24 (find it in sets of needles), securing it to the side. We deduce, beautifully straighten, as evenly as possible. With the usual seam forward with a needle and thread, grab 5 cm of the ribbon along its edge with a light accordion. You need to make sure that the stitches are not large, otherwise, your poppy leaves run the risk of not getting neat.

Embroidered leaf and stem

There are always not only petals, but also leaves with stems, they can also be depicted in different ways. It is justified to create stems with ordinary threads if you need to depict, for example, a lily of the valley or a snowdrop, but if you need a sunflower stem, you will need threads for knitting. Thick, fleshy stems are made with a twisted stitch; to keep it better in the middle, it is sewn on with thread Green colour, it will not be so noticeable.

For tulips, there is a separate version of the stem. Put the green pva soaked in glue on a needle. After a couple of minutes, we take out the needle and get a tube, which is very realistic and really resembles a tulip.

Explore the commonly used one. As a result, you can use our examples and get ideas for creativity. And first of all, every woman will see talent in herself. Take it, work a miracle!

Ribbon embroidery implies creating volumetric paintings full of color and variety. Such embroidery does not require special skills, you just need to know the minimum basics in sewing. To work, you need to have a minimum of materials, free time and a desire to create masterpieces. The article provides examples of creating a variety of colors that you can arrange in a composition.

Clematis

Required materials for embroidery of clematis with ribbons:

  • fabric, the basis of embroidery;
  • satin ribbons of different colors (purple, white, yellow, green);
  • hoop;
  • scissors;
  • floss threads (brown, purple).

On the main fabric, we mark the future petals with a purple thread so that as a result the flower is neat and symmetrical. To do this, you need to make 6 stitches of about 6 millimeters each, as shown in the example.

Embroider purple petals using loop stitch. Be sure to pull the top of the petal through the thread stitch, so the tape is fixed.

On each finished petal, you need to make 2 small short stitches with a white ribbon (the ribbon should be taken a little thinner than the main one).

In the center of the flower, make a knot with a yellow ribbon as described in the previous descriptions. This is the middle of clematis.

With a brown floss thread, folded several times, several stitches need to be sewn around the middle, leaving the loops released. These will be stamens.

Cut the brown loops, straighten the threads and, if necessary, trim with scissors.

Chamomile

Required materials for embroidering daisies with ribbons:

  • fabric, the basis of embroidery;
  • hoop;
  • needle for embroidery with ribbons with a long large eye;
  • scissors;
  • decor elements (beads, rhinestones).

To begin with, we draw approximate silhouettes of future daisies on the fabric. The example picture shows options for small and large five-leafed and six-leafed plants. You can choose the sizes of future flowers embroidered with ribbons yourself. Thus, you can create a picture embroidered with ribbons.

To create a flower, we introduce a needle with a ribbon into the middle of the future chamomile. We begin to fasten the tape from the seamy side, bringing it to the front. Each time we bring the tape to the front surface, we form a petal and fix it with a stitch. Fasten the thread firmly so that the flower is sewn securely.

The finished flower can be decorated with a bead, rhinestones or a simple knot made of a ribbon of a different color.

To form the leaves of the flowers, it is worth taking a needle with a green ribbon and performing ribbon stitches. We bring the ribbon to the front side, with a needle we outline the future puncture and, in order to form the necessary texture of the leaves, we pull the ribbon inward and stretch it from the inside out.

There can be many or few such small daisies, depending on your desire and the expected result of the brightness and saturation of the picture.

To make a large daisy, it is worth taking a tape of a larger width, about 12 millimeters.

Sewing the chamomile itself occurs by gouging a needle into the central part of the flower, and the petals need to be fastened with stitches. To create unopened buds, use the left ribbon stitch.

Buttercups

Required materials for embroidering buttercups with ribbons:

  • fabric, the basis of embroidery;
  • satin ribbons of the required color;
  • hoop;
  • needle for embroidery with ribbons with a long large eye;
  • scissors;
  • floss threads.

It is better to take thin ribbons from 2 to 4 millimeters wide for embroidery of buttercups.

We insert the ribbon into the needle and fix it on the fabric base from the seamy side, bringing the needle with the ribbon to the front side of the fabric in the center of the future flower. Return the needle and ribbon to the wrong side, leaving the loop that forms the first petal.

From the center, retreat the distance to the length of the petal, and at the same point, bring the needle out from the wrong side, pass the needle through the loop of the petal through the same hole again to the wrong side of the main fabric and tighten the tape.

Complete all the required petals in the same way.

Using a needle with a yellow ribbon or yellow floss, you need to make the middle of the buttercup. We bring the needle to the front side in the center of the flower, wrap the thread 2 times around the needle and return the thread again through the center to the wrong side. We tighten the tape and thereby form a knot, the middle of a buttercup.

The leaves are made with a green ribbon in the same way as the petals.

Roses

First, you need to prepare materials:

  • ribbons (to make a small rose, use a ribbon that is not too wide);
  • a needle with a wide enough eye;
  • the fabric you will be embroidering on.

The creation of this element is at the heart of many double colors.

Take the prepared needle and a small piece of tape. Pull the entire section through the eye of the needle, otherwise it will curl during sewing.

Now you need to pierce the opposite end of the line with a needle (do it as shown in the picture). To do this, move the needle along the segment just enough so that you can reach the end of the segment with the needle.

As a result, you will end up with a small loop that you need to carefully tighten so that you have as large a section as possible for embroidery. This will keep your needle firmly in place and will not move along the section.

Draw a section of the needle through the fabric. You can fix the end of the section with several stitches or tie it with a knot.

Now on the very segment, stepping back about 8-10 centimeters from the fabric, you need to tie a knot. It should not be too tight, as it is part of the flower.

Now you need to make regular stitches between the knot and the fabric, as if "stringing" the ribbon onto the needle. Their length can be different, then the rose will have a more natural look. It is best to sew short stitches close to the knot and long stitches closer to the fabric.

When you are finished sewing your stitches, simply pull the needle through the hole you pulled it into (or next to it).

Now gently start pulling on the needle. The knot you make will form the center of the flower, and the stitches will form the petals.

The petals are baited around the center.

And here's how you can make a rose in a similar way:

  • satin ribbons of the required color;
  • hoop;
  • needle for embroidery with ribbons with a long large eye;
  • scissors;
  • floss threads.
  • We take the main fabric and embroider the base of the future branch of lilac with a simple seam of the smooth surface.

    We thread a purple (lilac) thread into the needle and fix it by bringing it out from the seamy side to the front side of the fabric at the base of the embroidered stem.

    Wrapping the needle with tape as shown in the example, we return the thread through the same hole that was inserted into the needle on the front side. In this way, we get small knots, which are lilac flowers. Such knots must be made along the entire length of the embroidered main branch.

    The lilac leaves are large enough, for their embroidery it is worth taking a thicker green ribbon.
