  • its standard dimensions are 23x11.4x6.5 and 25x12.4x6.5 cm;
  • weight from 2.4 to 6 kg depending on the porosity of the structure;

Contrary to popular belief, chamotte is made not only from refractory clay - it is only 70-72% in the composition. A third of the volume is occupied by graphite and coke additives.

In burnt brick, the glass phase increases to 10%, which is unacceptable for refractory. The external difference between fireclay bricks and other varieties is clearly visible in the photo and video: it is yellowish in color.

According to consumer reviews, low moisture resistance does not allow the use of this material for other purposes. If you build a house out of it, then it will be damp and uncomfortable. Therefore, the best scope is the construction of stoves, fireplaces.

Having decided to purchase a batch of this masonry material, you need to figure out how these products should look externally. Even one manufacturer can put on sale products that are completely different in quality. Therefore, when buying, you need to focus on the following indicators:

  • choose a batch with heavier products, because a lot of weight indicates a high density;
  • accurate correct form with minimal error;
  • a high-quality brick, when tapped on it, gives a sound similar to metal;
  • when splitting, the internal structure of the material is visible: it should be of the same even color without spots.

You can check the quality of products directly at the warehouse of the trade organization. In the store itself, such manipulations should not be carried out.
