The secret is “hidden” in the hex head of a furniture bolt, lost among the heads of screws on the surface of the door. Insert a hex wrench into it and make it half a turn - the door will immediately open.

The fact is that at the other end of the bolt, on the other side of the door, a simple latch rail is mounted. When the bolt head is turned, the latch repeats its movement, locking or releasing the door.

    The most effective home-made device with a secret is a conventional combination lock made using a thyristor element base, combined with a garage lock that can be opened with an ordinary key. The electrical part of the lock is shown in the diagram.

    That's the essence of the idea. You can open the garage only in this sequence. On the dial pad, a code is entered that disables the blocking of a conventional lock. If the lock is not opened within 30 seconds, the second circuit with electric shock protection is activated.     Using this type of protection is a completely new know-how in arranging garage locks. Practical application showed ease of use and greater reliability, in addition, the demand for even home-made locks turned out to be very large, so the code system had to be replaced with a remote control.

    For thieves, neither a lock with a secret nor a high fence is an obstacle. However, sometimes homemade locks can become a bigger problem for them than purchased factory products. In ancient times, in villages and even in cities, the doors to houses were not locked. But nowadays everything and everywhere has to be locked up.     It would seem that there are any number of various locking devices, latches, bolts, locks with many secrets on sale. Why do we need homemade locks? Firstly, it is hardly possible to pick up keys for such locks, because they are made in a single copy, and drawings for them cannot be found either in the literature or on the Internet. Secondly, inventing and making locking devices with your own hands is a very exciting activity for many home craftsmen.

    How to do it yourself? According to the masters, almost everyone can make a gate. Below is described, in their opinion, the most convenient and reliable way to lock a double-leaf gate.

    The advantage of this revolving lock is that the gate can only be locked from the inside. There are no keyholes on the outer surface, and from the inside, the lock is a metal crossbar that rotates on a pin. This latch rises and falls into metal slots bolted to both leaves of the garage door.

    Such a turntable closes and opens without much effort. Its main drawback is that the gate should have an additional door. And now it will have to be locked up. If the garage is attached to a residential building and there is an entrance to it from the house, then such constipation is the most reliable and economical thing.

    Also, locking from the inside can be done using pins curved with the letter “G”. They rotate in a bracket welded to each edge of the door leaf - top and bottom.

    Another type of homemade lock that is often used to lock garages is a screw lock. It locks the garage door with a screw in the latch tube. The key to it must match the bolt head. The problem is that the key itself is very large, and picking it up with a round brass nozzle is very easy.

    One craftsman came up with the idea of ​​making a freely rotating screw cap. It only engages with the screw when the original T-key is used. The master makes such screw locks with original keys on order, earning good money on this. Garage owners do not use homemade electromechanical locks so often. Although it is more reliable than all those described above.

    The principle of operation of such a lock is quite simple. When the door, gate or gate is closed, the platoon bolt of the lock presses on the spring inside it and the tongue enters the groove of the door - the so-called reciprocal part of the lock. This is a purely mechanical device. The electronic part of the lock (in most cases it is a solenoid - an inductor) acts on the bolt, closing or opening the electrical network.

    An electromechanical lock usually has an electronic key in the form of a tablet or is remotely controlled from a key fob. To make such a lock with your own hands, use the usual massive lever lock, from which the levers (plates with curly turnkey cutouts) are removed, leaving only the crossbars. A guide plate is attached to them. As an electric drive for such a lock, drives for car locks are used.

    A device such as an electromechanical lock is quite expensive. Another disadvantage is the inability to control it in the absence of electricity in the garage. In order to protect yourself from the impossibility of opening such a lock, a car alarm connected to the car battery is used for power supply.

    Thieves have learned to open a mechanical lock of any complexity for a long time. It is more difficult with a combination lock, but they find ways to get around all its secrets.

    However, the lock can only be opened if the location of the unlocking device, such as a keyhole, a door keypad, etc., is known.

    Understanding this, stealth locks without a keyhole and keys were developed, where the unlocking devices are made in the form of coded or infrared key fobs, GPS radio telephones, etc.

    The proposed lock differs from the known ones in that the unlocking elements of the lock (hereinafter referred to as the keys) are separated, duplicated many times, and the lock can only be opened when all the keys are activated.

    Since the keys can be spaced a considerable distance, this lock is especially convenient for summer cottages, where thieves most often hunt.

    One of the keys can be placed, for example, in a separate toilet. It would never occur to anyone that, having visited the toilet, a person opened the house.

    I can hardly imagine how such a lock can be opened without knowing the number, principle of operation of spaced keys and their location, especially since the lock itself is not visible from the outside of the door.

    Design and principle of operation

    The lock (Fig. 1) consists of a body 1, in which an electric motor 2 of DC DPR 42 12v is placed. 2500 rpm, which is connected by screw 5 with crossbar 3.

    Screw thread pitch 0.3…0.5 mm. At rated engine speed, the deadbolt moves 20 mm. in one or two seconds.

    The lock closes and opens with a simple click.

    There is an annular groove on the bolt, into which balls 8 fall when it moves. The balls serve as a transmission link between the bolt and microswitches 6 and 7. The microswitches are designed to stop the engine. When the next ball hits the groove, the corresponding switch turns off the engine. The distance between the switches determines the travel of the bolt. Pin 4 prevents the bolt from rotating.

    To close the lock, you need to close the door tightly. In this case, the previously open blocking contact K1 closes (Fig. 3)

    The contact prevents the possibility of closing the lock with an open or not tightly closed . After closing the door, you need to press the K5 button located on the outside of the door. In this case, the relay P is activated, switches the contacts KR1 and KR2 to the position shown in Figure 3 and turns on the motor M.

    After one or two seconds, the motor will move the bolt to the position shown in Figure 5 and open contact K3. Relay P will be de-energized, contacts KR1 and KR2 will take a neutral position and turn off the engine. Fig.6. The castle will be closed.

    After the lock is closed, button 5 is disabled by contact K3. Any manipulations with this button that may interest a thief, long presses or even a broken wire will not prevent you from opening the lock and repairing the damage.

    To open the lock, you need to connect (short-circuit) the points of circuit A and B (Fig. 7).

    You can do this in various ways. For example, turn on the contact of the K4 toggle switch and bring the magnet to the GK reed switch. (Fig.7).

    The reed switch can be hidden under the door trim. Or use ordinary lighting as K4. If you screw in the lamp, the circuit will close. There are many options. There is a wide field for imagination here. Only one thing matters. It is necessary to spread the keys (serially connected elements) away and, if possible, disguise them.

    The phase of opening the lock is shown in Figure 7. After turning on the engine, the bolt (Fig. 1) that has moved to the open state will open contact K2 and turn off the motor.

    The door can now be opened by opening contact K1. The circuit returned to its initial state (Fig. 2). By closing the door and pressing K5, you can close the door again according to the algorithm described above.

    Note

    For the correct operation of the lock, the direction of rotation of the motor must match the direction of the screw thread 5. For a right-hand thread, in the opening phase of the lock, the motor must rotate counterclockwise when viewed from the shaft side.

    Classification of locking systems

    According to the degree of protection and the mechanism of opening, products can be divided into the following groups:

    • constipation - hook, valve, etc.;
    • locks - mechanical, electromechanical, electromagnetic.

    A simple option for the unlocking method is constipation. They do not contain a secret locking mechanism and no keys are used to unlock.

    Of the locks that have a mechanism, a simple option is mechanical devices. To open or close them, you need a key that is inserted into the well and, depending on the design, is either turned or moved back and forth. As a result, the mechanism works and the door opens.

    An electrical signal is used to control electromechanical and electromagnetic devices. They allow the use of a remote control to open the system remotely. It is possible to use fingerprint or palm reading, voice control, etc.

    According to the mounting option of the device are:

    According to the type of locking mechanism, they are divided into level and cylinder.

    Locks can be either purchased in specialized stores or on the construction market, or made on the door with your own hands. For such a constipation, it is much more difficult to find a key, it is assembled from high-quality elements, and only the developer knows the scheme of the secret part.

    Homemade latch lock

    The principle of operation is as follows: a bolt (such as a furniture bolt) is installed in the door, which is turned with a hex key. The bolt goes through the entire thickness of the blade. On the reverse side of the sash there is a rail (latch), which is attached to the bolt. For this, a flat flat is made at the end of the hardware. It is performed using a needle file.     To lock the door, the latch must be in the striker.

    Do-it-yourself mechanical constipation

    You can make your own valve. It is a metal plate that looks like in the picture.

    A small hole is made in the sash (about 10 mm). The key stem has a plate at the end that can rotate around its axis. Further, the plate is lowered under its own weight and fixed in one of the slots on the valve.

    To prevent the rail from falling out during movement, a limiter or stopper is installed for it, made in the form of a stop and two supporting brackets. Thus, on the one hand, the course of the rail is controlled by the stop - limiter, on the other hand, it moves to the first bracket.

    Only a key made for this mechanism can open such a system, since it is impossible to find out from the outside the length of the plate attached to the rod.

    Electromechanical door device

    When the door is locked, the crossbar, consisting of a rod and a head, enters the reciprocal bar, while the spring associated with it is stretched or cocked. The spring is connected to a coil or solenoid. When the electricity is turned off, the spring is released, and the bolt is drawn into the lock.

    To understand how to make a magnetic lock with your own hands, first consider its device.

    The main element of the mechanism is an electromagnet, which is a core made of transformer steel in the shape of the letter Sh. Such steel does not have a memory effect and is a magnetically soft material. The core is recruited from a large number of thin plates or made from a single plate.

    Around the core there is a winding of copper wire coated with enamel. The coil has a large number (up to a thousand or more) turns. When an electric current passes through the winding, an electromagnetic field is created in the core, which controls the operation of the lock.

    However, over time, there is a weakening of the mechanical characteristics of the door due to the effect of residual magnetization. To combat it, the effect of changing the polarity of the voltage is used when the locking device is demagnetized. However, in this case, force is required to open the door.

    Due to the absence of moving parts, the device has a long service life.

    Since low-alloy steel, which is easily corroded, is used for the manufacture of structural parts, they must be protected. For protection, varnishing, zinc plating or nickel plating is used.

    The main parameter of the mechanism is the holding force of the door. To increase the force that is applied to hold the door, it is possible to install several locks. This value depends on the material from which the core and armature are made, the current strength and the number of turns in the coil winding. Performed overhead type.

    Types of electromagnetic devices

In this case, the protrusions of the magnetic circuit enter the corresponding grooves of the armature.     Sliding structures are installed using a tie-in at the end of the leaf and, thanks to this, this type allows you to install a secret magnetic bolt on the front door.
