Dragon age origins walkthrough ostagar. Return to Ostagar. Plagued Blood and Gray Warden Cache

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

I noticed that in our blog there is no description of the passage of this DLC. Maybe it's because of its linearity, but I still think it's worth mentioning it.

So, directly on the passage.

To go to Ostagar again, you need to install the Return to Ostagar DLC. It costs $ 5 evergreen or 400 BioWare Points.

After installing the DLC, you will immediately receive the quest "Confidant of the King", and a new location "Loren's Bann Land" will appear on the map

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Having come to them, you will find an old man with whom the guard of these lands is talking. If you take a closer look at him, you will recognize him as an assistant to King Kaylan - Elric. You can wait until the guards leave or rush into battle, in any case, one of the guards will pierce him with a knife. When you approach him, he will recognize you and say that King Kaylan has entrusted him with an important mission. He gave him the key to the chest in which the king's personal belongings are hidden.

The old man hid the key in Ostagar itself, in one secluded place.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Since Elric himself realizes that he will die, he asks US to go to Ostagar, recapture the king's things from the creatures of darkness, and, if possible, find and bury Kaylan's body. If Alistair and / or Wynn are with you, they ask you to take them with you, after all, they themselves were there.

After that, the Ostagar icon will appear on the Map. Well, for the cause =)

Ostagar

Upon arrival, this is waiting for us

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

This is ... the new Mabari head armor of the Legion of the Dead ?? !! Oh, if only ... =)

So, we are moving towards the place of the war council, where Kaylan and Loghain discussed the battle plan. There we will have a small skirmish with the creatures of darkness, led by an elite emisar.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

But he will be called "Garlock Messenger", and he is the first part of the royal set - "Greaves of Kaylan".

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Plus, it's a gift to Alistair.

We go to the right, in the direction of the kennel and the camp of magicians and we stumble upon a group of creatures of darkness, led by "Genlok Blacksmith". Unfortunately, a part of the set does not fall from it. A little to the left is the same cache of Elric and we take the key from there.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

We are moving towards the royal enclave, and we are attacked by pestilent wolves.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

From the king's chest we take the sword "Maric's Sword" and Kaylan's secret correspondence with the Empress of Orlais.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

From this correspondence, we learn that our king maintained friendly relations with the empress, and she was even ready to give him her troops. If Loghain is with you in the group, he will say that Kaylan was a deceitful and two-faced person. Look who's Talking...

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

We remove Kaylan's shield from him - paired with Maric's blade gives very good bonuses.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Having passed a little forward, we will see a picture from which I, a man who NEVER shed a tear on the last scene of the movie Titanic, accidentally flowed out a mean man's tear (even one small, but still ...) ...

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

And its completion ...

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Tell me honestly, what did you want to do with this ogre?

One way or another, we will see a small and remote genlock of a necromancer, with which he will revive the lying skeletons nearby, and he himself will run away towards the tower.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Well, first we will deal with the reptile, and then we will bury our king. We go straight, but at the intersection we first turn left. There we will be greeted by the genlocks sitting at the ballists and their leader - "Garlock Strategist". He is what we need =)

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

We take off the royal gloves and move, now to the tower.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Near the entrance we will be attacked by "Garlock

General ".

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

We remove Kaylan's bib from him.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

After entering the tower, we will see our genlock again, when he starts a "fireball" at us. What are all pyromaniacs then, eh? =)

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

He will run away again (who would have doubted), and we will be attacked by garlocks and genlocks, who fall from one blow. There will still be an ogre, but they are no longer as scary as the first ogre in the tower at the beginning.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

We go into a room nearby, where "grunts" await us again.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

From the weapon rack in the room, you can take a good two-handed hammer - "Naga Crusher".

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

In the dungeon, we will meet a couple of spawn of darkness and a few fel spiders. Nothing complicated, we follow the beacon that should bring us to the surface.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Coming to the surface, we will find ourselves on the battlefield itself. And again we will see a part of the tragic video.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

And then again this infection comes out necromancer and what do you think he does? Well, yes, it revives the same ogre who killed Kaylan.

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

Don't you see anything strange on this ogre? Yes, yes, this is Duncan's sword and dagger, which stick out ugly from the chest of the ogre. We must pick them up !!!

Return to Ostagar

Return to Ostagar

This ogre is an orange boss, but nothing complicated about it. But do not forget about the necromancer - he revives the corpses lying here. So, it is better that one member of your team first kills him, and then all together kill the ogre. Our cherished blades fall from the ogre,

In Ostagar, immediately upon arrival, Duncan offers to meet with the Gray Guard Alistair. You need to talk to Alistair in the north of the location and return to Duncan with him.

Outcome:
a permanent member of the squad Alistair joins;

XP 2750 and amulet Oath of the Guardian for completing two quests - Infected blood and Cache of the Gray Wardens.

In Ostagar, the huntsman asks to find Wild flower for the treatment of a sick dog. Many of these flowers grow in the Wildlands of Korkari (just find one). This quest is a prerequisite for the appearance in the future of a permanent member of the squad - the mabari dog. The joining of the mabari dog will take place after the Battle of Ostagar, before the first visit to Lothering.

When passing as a noble person who already has a mabari dog, this quest is given by Davet's temporary companion in the Korkari Wildlands at the moment the flower is found.

In Ostagar, a prisoner in a cage asks for food and drink. You need to get food and water from the guard (buy, or steal, or convince to give) and give it to the prisoner. You can get it from the prisoner beforehand Mages Chest Key... Alternatively, you can simply kill the prisoner during the dialogue and thus get the key. The chest is guarded by the pacified, it leaves after evening.

Outcome:
100 XP for completing a quest.

After the initiation scene into the Gray Wardens, you just need to go to the council of war in the northwest of the location (at point 17).

Outcome:
-.

In Ostagar, before the battle, Duncan orders to light a signal fire at the top of the Ishal tower. On the way to the tower, the battle for Ostagar will begin. You need to climb to the top floor of the tower, defeat the ogre and light the fire (touch the object Signal tower). This will move to Flemeth's hut.

Outcome:
Haward's Shield for the victory over the ogre;
1500 XP for completing a quest.

The quest is opened if there is an activated DLC "Return to Ostagar".

We leave from any location on the world map and go to the lands of Loren's ban (yellow icon with a tree). Upon arrival, we see a quarrel between a man and people in the form of guards.

Taking a closer look, we notice that this man was with us in Ostagar. Looking closely at the guards, we see that these are the soldiers of Loren's ban - a man who changes allies more often than socks. Immediately we go to rescue a friend and see how one of the soldiers stabbed him with a knife.

Note: you can go to the rescue right away. The acquaintance suffers in any case.

After we have dealt with the detachment, we go to help the wounded. Having come to his senses, he will say that he recognizes us and will report that he hid the key to Kailan's chest in Ostagar. After the conversation, he will die anyway. We leave on the world map and see that the Ostagar location has opened. We go there.

Note: if Alistair or Wynn are present in the squad, they will ask to take them with them. Better to take both - you will hear a lot of interesting dialogue.

Arrival

Immediately upon arrival in Ostagar, we are attacked by a small detachment of the creatures of darkness. We deal with them and immediately become witnesses of the conversation between Wynn and Alistair (if they are both in the group). Going down to the place where we first met Loghain, we come across another detachment of creatures. We kill and search the emissary - we get the first fragment of Kaylan's armor. If Alistair is in a group, he will complain that it is worthless when the king's armor is desecrated by the darkspawn.

We pass a little further and fight off two detachments of evil spirits. Then we take away the key from the chest from under the cobblestones and go to the other side of the yard, where we come across another detachment, including pest wolves. We search the leader and get another item from the armor of the deceased king. Near the stairs we examine the chest and take the documents and Maric's blade from it. We learn from the documents that Kaylan had already agreed with Orlais about help, and Selina was just waiting for an answer. We rise and we clean up one more march.

In one of the boxes are recidivist's gloves that improve armor penetration. If there is a rogue in the group who does not have gloves with better characteristics, then you can give it to him.

Ishala Bridge and Tower

We get down and go to the already familiar bridge.

In the middle of the bridge we see Kaylan's body pinned to wooden plate... Remembering a past acquaintance, we see an emissary of the genlocks, who revives several skeletons, including a magician. Garlocks with crossbows immediately come to our rear. Having dealt with the creatures and the dead, we rise further.

Having risen, we turn to the left and kill another detachment of the creatures of darkness.

Caution: evil spirits will actively use ballistae, and on the descent, in addition, traps are placed.

We search the emissary and get the third piece of armor. We orient ourselves on the map and go to the place where we have not yet passed - to the foot of the Ishal tower. There we deal with two more detachments, where on the leader's corpse we find the fourth piece of armor. We go into the tower and in the cut-scene we see the same emissary as on the bridge. As soon as he leaves, a rather large detachment of infantry and ogre will immediately attack us. If you have high level, then the infantrymen do not pose a danger, since they will die with one blow, and it is better to deal with the ogre. Going a little further, we come across another large detachment of "cannon fodder", the main difficulty will be the beerscarn, which will be released from the cage by one of the genlocks. After exterminating them all, we go to the already familiar pit and go down.

Tunnels and battlefield

After passing several turns and killing several detachments of evil, we pass into a room where four desecrated spiders attack us.

Attention: it is better to immediately attack them with grenades or stunning skills - their "throw" takes a lot of health.

Having exterminated them, we do not relax - 4 more spiders attack us. Having dealt with them, we go upstairs. After passing a little more, we see how the former emissary raises the dead ogre, and in the process of the battle - the dead. Having destroyed the undead, it's time to deal with the already annoying emissary. We search it and find the fifth and last piece of armor. Do not forget to search the ogre - Duncan's sword and dagger fall from it.

  • In terms of atmosphere, the add-on resembles the DLC "The Wreckage of the Normandy" "from Mass Effect 2.
  • Subject quests

Upon arrival in Ostagar, we will be greeted personally by King Kaylan, an enthusiastic young man who cannot wait to immortalize his name as the winner of yet another Blight. From a conversation with His Majesty, we learn that the royal army has already won several victories over the Spawn of Darkness and Kaylan hopes for their final defeat in the upcoming battle. After talking with the king, he will retire to a meeting with Teirn Loghain, the army commander, and you can talk to Duncan about your upcoming entry into the Guardians.

It turns out that simply declaring your readiness to become a Guardian is not enough here - you still need to go through some special ritual called Initiation. Duncan will not go into the details of this ritual, but tells you to find one of the Gray Wardens named Alistair and return to him after that.

Alistair, a handsome young man with a good sense of humor, bickers with one of the army mages in the northeastern corner of the map. After the magician leaves, he will speak to you. You can ask him about the Gray Wardens, Duncan and the upcoming ritual and earn your first influence points with a follower in the game.

Alistair is a romantic interest for a female character. Keep in mind that a low (not to mention negative) influence with him will completely cross out the love line.

Returning to Duncan, you will finally receive a task - to go to the Korkar wasteland and get there three bottles of blood of the Spawn of Darkness, plus find ancient documents in the ruins of the old fort of the Guardians, obliging others (namely, dwarves, elves and magicians) to help the Guardians during the Blight. In your group you will be given Alistair and two recruits like you - the thief Davet and the knight Sera Jory.

Vials of blood can be taken from almost any Spawn with which the Wasteland is teeming, while documents are in the ruins in the northeastern corner of the map. The approach to them is guarded by two notable spawn squads. One is at the bridge in the southern part of the map, and is led by an Emissary, which means mage. The second is located directly in front of the ruins and its head is Alpha Harlock - a warrior, an order of magnitude stronger than an ordinary warrior of spawn. How you deal with them depends on your personal tactical preferences, as well as who your GG is. One of the possible ways is to shoot at them with a bow at maximum distance, which will lure only a few opponents at you, and you can deal with them in parts.

Having dealt with the enemies, go to the document chest and open it. You will be immediately hailed by a dark-haired beauty, who will ask what kind of archdemon you need here. In the course of the conversation, it turns out that the documents you need are no longer in the chest, because the beauty's mother has long taken them into her hands. The girl will introduce herself to you as Morrigan and agree to escort you to her mother. She will hand over the documents without any wrangling, and Morrigan will escort you to the camp.

When you give Duncan the required documents and blood, he will immediately announce that everything is ready for the ritual. The essence of the ritual, as you will finally be deigned to explain, is to drink the blood of spawns prepared by the magicians (this is why you needed three servings of blood - one for each recruit), which, in principle, can kill you on the spot, but if you are lucky and if you survive, you will become completely immune to the creatures' most fearsome weapon - their poison - and gain the ability to sense their presence.

After you complete the ritual, you will be handed a Guardian medallion, and this will complete your quest.

    Non-story quests

If you are not playing for a noble person, then you have not yet received a mabari dog as a companion, and you can do this by completing this quest. It is given by the keeper of the kennel. To begin with, your hero needs to enter the corral and put on a muzzle on the sick mabari so that he can be helped without losing any of the limbs. After that, the steward will ask you to find a healing flower for the dog that grows in the Korkar wasteland. You can find the flower in various parts of the forest, one of which is the ruins a few steps from the place where you will meet a wounded soldier. Give the flower to the steward, and after certain events you will be able to get the dog as your constant companions.

If you are playing a noble person, then after you find a flower in the forest, Davet will mention that the keeper of the kennel needed something like this to heal the dogs. In this case, you can simply give the flower to the steward and receive the reward (or refuse it, if you wish).

The prisoner sitting in the cage will ask you to bring him food. If you disagree right away, but ask him in more detail how he got into such a deplorable situation, he admits that he was engaged in theft and will offer you the key to the magicians' chest in exchange for food. You can kill him and take the key from the corpse, if you want, if you are playing a kinder character, talk to the guard and ask him for his lunch for the prisoner. If you have persuasion points, you can persuade him to give you food for free, if not, bribe him with 10 silver coins.

You will not be able to open the magician's chest right away - this is prevented by the pacified one standing nearby. You will have to wait until night falls and the pacified will leave (that is, after you return from the Corkar Wasteland, having completed Duncan's task). Taking things from the chest, you will complete this quest.

If you have persuasion glasses, then the sentry at Teirn Loghain's tent may call him to talk to you, but your meeting with him will not affect anything.

At the elf emissary named Peak (first he talks to the leader of the Ash Warriors, and then runs away, so catch him before he disappears) you can trick him into a good one-handed sword.

You can meet Davet and Jory at the camp before returning to Duncan after talking to Alistair (although they won't tell you anything particularly interesting).

You can meet a magician named Wynn in the camp - a calm and very pleasant gray-haired person. Remember it - this is not your last meeting.

In addition, various little things are scattered around the camp, from which you can make potions (or just sell), boxes and chests (sometimes locked with a key, so it makes sense to walk around when you get Davet's group, if you are not a robber yourself ).

    Wilds of Korkari

    Subject quests

    Non-story quests

Not far from where you entered the Wasteland, you will find the body of missionary Jogby. He will have a letter from his father Rigby with him, and in it - a hint where to find their chest. The chest is located in the southern part of the map and several wolves are acquired with it, including the alpha wolf (elite). When you take the contents of the chest, then the quest will be over.

In the western part of the map, you will find an abandoned parking lot and a chest. In the chest you will find the journal of the already familiar Rigby. After reading the magazine, a new mark will appear on your map - the trail of the Hasindic parking lot. All that is required of you is to explore the parking lot and go to the next one, which will appear on your map. Repeat this several times, and the trail will lead you to the Hasind treasure in the southern part of the map (behind the bridge with the gerlock emissary). You will not be able to find the treasure if you have not examined all traces of the Hasindic sites before.

In the central part of the map, you will find the corpse of missionary Rigby. In his will you will find out where he hid some of his things - in an abandoned camp almost exactly to the west of his body. When you find the hidden chest, you will have a choice - take its contents (an amulet without any special properties) for yourself or take it to Rigby's widow, Jetta. You can find her in the Church in the village of Radcliffe. When you give her the casket - or take it for yourself - your quest will be completed at this point.

On the corpse of a soldier near the place where you met the Harlock emissary, you will find a bag of ash and a leaflet with a description of a local legend. If you wish, you can follow the directions and dump the ash on the pile of stones that is located northwest of the bridge. This will summon Gazarat, your first orange mini-boss.

Gazarat can be killed without much difficulty using bows - he usually quite persistently pursues one of the group, so if this one runs in a circle, while the others shower Gazarat with arrows, then he will not last long.

Battle of Ostagar and the Tower of Ishal

After King Kaylan and Loghain have drawn up a plan of attack at the meeting and given you the mission to light the signal fire on the tower of Ishal, the actual battle will begin. Run across the bridge to the tower, where the guards will inform you that, out of nowhere, the Spawn of Darkness have completely occupied it. After that, you will be joined by either two guards or a guard and a mage (if you do not have a mabari dog in your group), or only one mage. Clear the approaches to the tower and do not forget to comb the area around - you will find several boxes with supplies.

Ishal Tower has four floors. They are pretty small. The first three are filled with Darkspawn of all sorts and sizes. On the fourth you will meet the boss - the ogre.

A battle with a giant, in principle, can be carried out simply by thrashing at it with all available means, periodically healing the squad members and using any stunning-paralyzing techniques and spells on it. As an alternative to a head-on attack, you can use bows, shooting at it from a distance while the ogre chases one of the group members running in a circle (periodically changing the runner if the ogre suddenly decides to be distracted by someone else). Thus, you can kill him without drinking a single healing potion.

After you deal with the ogre, you can finally complete your mission. Light a signal fire and see what rather unexpected consequences it leads to.

    Hut Flemeth

After waking up from the wounds inflicted on you in Ostagar, you will find Morrigan next to you. She will inform you about what happened on the battlefield, about Loghain's betrayal and that, for reasons unknown to her, her mother decided to save you and Alistair from certain death.

Alistair and Morrigan's mother - who will introduce herself as Flemeth - await you outside. (Your dog is also there, if you are playing a Noble Person.) A conversation with them will outline your further tasks and give several story quests: Nature of the Beast, Firestarter, Earl Radcliffe and Broken Circle.

After you have been given the honorable mission of saving Ferelden from Mora, Morrigan will join your party and advise you to head to Lothering first, where you can find out local news and decide what to do next.

If you are not playing as a Noble Man, then when you move from the Flemeth hut to Lothering you will meet the already familiar mabari and several spawn of Darkness led by Harlock Alpha. After you've dealt with the enemy, the mabari will join your group as a permanent ally, and you can even give him a name.
