The magical power of the mental body. Mental Body and Thought Power Higher Mental Power

Thoughts are not just an intangible substance, but streams of energy that can affect reality and even materialize. Such a phenomenon as mental magic can serve as the best confirmation of this.

Definition of concepts

Mental magic is the ability to reconstruct and edit certain situations through thought forms of a high organization that act on.They not only take root in a person's aura, but help to build events and phenomena in the right direction, starting a chain reaction.

Mental magic - the action of which is directed not at specific people, but at situations and events. By developing your abilities, you can direct the situation in the right direction in such a way that it will be almost impossible to recognize outside influence. In this case, the maximum concentration of energy is needed for successful activity.

Some people tend to confuse mental influences with ordinary ones. So, for example, the well-known rituals and conspiracies, which are designed to attract good luck, money, love and other positive factors, just charge a person with energy, giving him self-confidence. As for mental magic, the individual achieves success without knowing that a specific impact has been made on him. It is enough to form a mental and energetic message.

Verbal component

Mental-verbal magic is anything that is said aloud or mentally. Everything that a person says or thinks is a powerful mechanism that starts a complex chain of processes. The proverb that "the word is not a sparrow" did not arise out of nowhere. So, by saying and thinking positive things, you are programming the appropriate scenario. If it is thoughtless to say something bad to another person, you, unwittingly, can cause an accident. That is why learning magic should start with the ability to control your words and thoughts.

Basic elements of mentalism

Mental thought, as it is also commonly called, is becoming more and more widespread. The same message can send completely different vibrations to the Universe. In accordance with the form, the following components of mentalism can be distinguished:

  • telepathy is the ability to read and transmit thoughts at a distance;
  • telekinesis - influence on physical processes by an effort of will;
  • telemetry - obtaining comprehensive information about objects that are at a considerable distance;
  • teleportation - instant movement of objects or living organisms in space;
  • pyrokenez - the ability to obtain fire by the effort of thought without the use of any available means;
  • levitation - the ability to float in the air on its own or lift other objects by reducing weight;
  • hypnosis - the introduction of foreign information through complete relaxation;
  • clairvoyance - the ability to predict the future;
  • extrasensory perception - hypersensitive perception of surrounding phenomena.

Visualization as a basic principle

Visualization is the most common technique used in the field of mental magic. Of course, this practice is not able to solve global problems, but on the way of fulfilling the desires of a particular individual, it can turn out to be very effective. So, visualization should be carried out on the basis of the following rules:

  • before starting to practice, you need to carefully consider your desire in terms of whether it is worth spending significant energy resources on it;
  • make sure that the fulfillment of your desire will not harm anyone around;
  • for maximum concentration of thoughts, you need to come into a completely relaxed state (this is often achieved during sleep);
  • the picture that arises in your mind must be clearly detailed (a drawing or picture cut from a magazine or downloaded from the Internet can help in this);
  • you need to think about the desired object only in good mood sending positive emotions.

Mental Magic: Exercise

The ability to influence others, foresee the future and materialize one's thoughts requires not only an innate gift, but also hard training. If you make every effort, then mental magic will prevail. Ability development exercises are as follows:

  • You need to pick up any object and focus on it. Study it for a few minutes, examining and noticing the smallest details. You need to repeat such exercises for at least 10 days in a row.
  • It is necessary to learn how to feed on the energy of the earth, even without the possibility of direct contact with it. You need to relax and imagine yourself in a green and sunny meadow, where you are standing barefoot on the grass. You should feel how warmth penetrates your body through your feet.
  • You need to learn how to concentrate positive emotions in the chest and navel area. You should mentally imagine an oval in this zone and fill it with light and energy.
  • Learn to program yourself for success. It is worth starting with the fact that, having woken up in the morning, first of all it is worth replaying the scenario of your future day in your head. Everything needs to be presented in the best possible light. Every day this installation will work more and more efficiently.

Exercises with the participation of the subject

Many people want to master an ability like mental magic. Learning begins with independent exercises, after which it is worth involving the subjects in the classes. So, the following experiments will be useful:

  • having laid out several objects on the table, try to guess in advance what your opponent will choose;
  • by external signs, you need to determine whether a person is telling the truth or a lie;
  • ask the subject to touch one or another part of his body, trying to feel this touch on himself;
  • Practice reading the thoughts of the subject sitting opposite you.

Mage levels

Continuous training and learning is essential to successfully managing thoughts and events. Unfortunately, the Faculty of Mental Magic cannot be found at an institute or university. Nevertheless, continuous self-study and communication with talented individuals help to achieve a high level. So, there are 7 levels of magicians:

  1. A beginner who has not yet sufficiently developed a mentality. Nevertheless, there is a clear predisposition to psychic activity.
  2. The student is successful in determining the intentions of the animals. With visual contact with a person, she can recognize some mental images.
  3. An apprentice is free to communicate with a superior magician through mental or visual contact. As for the animals, they can temporarily become subordinate to the individual. The initial skills of influencing people appear.
  4. The master easily subjugates any animals, and also affects people who are easily amenable to suggestion. The ability to read dreams is born. Learning to manipulate at a distance also begins.
  5. A master of the highest level can share the thoughts and emotions of a group of people in the same space. Sensitivity to the emotions of others appears. You can recognize the mood of a person up to 500 meters away. You can order a person to do an act that does not correspond to his beliefs and moral principles.
  6. The master can control a person's behavior, no matter how far away he is and whether he is suggestible. Can control a group of people up to 10 people.
  7. Archmage is highest level... It can subdue up to several thousand people and control them at any distance.

True mentalists and charlatans

Mental magic is a relatively new trend that immediately gained widespread popularity. With the advent of new knowledge, many gifted people have significantly improved their skills up to predicting the future. Nevertheless, among the true mentalists who train daily, improving their skills, there are quite a few charlatans who are trying to extract material benefits. So, in order to influence people, the following techniques can be used:

  • oratory with the aim of influencing the audience;
  • acting and affectation;
  • knowledge of psychology and its active application in practice;
  • pronounced and charisma.

All these tricks are not needed by a person who really owns such a mystical gift as mental magic. Books, exercise, meditation, daily training - that is what distinguishes a real mentalist. At the same time, he can look absolutely nondescript and behave quite modestly.

How the phases of the moon affect magic

Does mental magic depend on the phase of the moon? It has long been noted that yes. The night light is faithful companion fortune-tellers, witches and occultists, and therefore many do not take him seriously. However, the moon can also provide attention to the formation of thoughts and energy flows.

The calendar for conducting mental magic is divided into phases of the moon. So, the first is the new moon. The first two days of this period are named after Hecate, who in Ancient Greece was considered the goddess of darkness. At this moment, thoughts, emotions, as well as character traits are minimally expressed, and therefore a decline is observed in human activity. But the work of the subconscious and vulnerability at this time increases significantly. During this period, it is better not to resort to mental practice, because, most likely, it will not be crowned with success. You should also be careful with words, because everything said can have a strong impact on the fate of the interlocutor.

The second stage is named after the goddess Thetis, who was considered the patroness of the water element. The energy of the body and thoughts gradually begins to grow. This is the best period for undertakings, because they will develop successfully and rapidly. As for the emotional side, this is the most favorable time for energy contacts. Considering that a person's state of mind is overflowing with grace, the second phase is the time to develop positive programs for the future.

The third phase of the moon is named after the goddess Dione, who is associated with the element of air. By this time, the body has accumulated a sufficient amount of energy and is ready to channel it into a productive channel. Given the surge of energy that you can feel during this period, you are able to bring maximum benefit to yourself and those around you.

The fourth phase of the moon is associated with the name of the Gorgon, who is the patroness of fire and personifies vengeance. At this time, the body's energy is almost completely depleted, and therefore hopelessness and powerlessness are felt. At this time, it is better to put aside mental practice and start analyzing and summing up the results of the work done. You need to rest as much as possible so as not to go into a depressive state. The only thing that is allowed is the treatment of karmic diseases.

What ceremonies to carry out in different lunar phases

Mental magic depends not only on internal, but also on external circumstances. The magic of thought is largely associated with the phases of the lunar calendar. Depending on the stage of development of the night star, it is recommended to carry out the following ceremonies:

  1. The new moon is characterized by minimal impact. Any impacts made during this period will not bring significant results. Spend this time relaxing or learning new knowledge.
  2. During this period, start some new business or the development of a new life attitude. Any undertaking, which was started during the waxing moon, will be crowned with success. Love affairs will be especially successful.
  3. The full moon is the most favorable period for it. At this time, you can attract into your life the right people, increase welfare or increase your internal resources (attractiveness, intelligence, health, etc.). Talismans made for the full moon have the highest energetic and magical value.
  4. The waning moon is characterized by a decline in magical energy. Thus, this is the time for rituals aimed at cleansing from negativity and karmic dirt. During this period, rituals of a negative nature (for example, a lapel) are also successful.

Mental Magic: Books

Every person dreams of managing events, people, as well as reading and directing the thoughts of others in the right direction. In this regard, the question arises of how to learn mental magic. If you do not have direct contacts with professionals, books will help you in this difficult task. It is worth paying attention to the following editions:

  • "The power of thought is the secret of mental magic" (V. A. Atkinson) - one of best works the author. This book contains information on the development of magnetism and hypnotic abilities. By developing the qualities inherent in everyone, you will be able to dominate others.
  • The Power of Magic: Prophecy is more of a creative work than a practical guide. Nevertheless, from it you can glean useful information about the features of foreseeing the future.

  • "Technique for the Development of the Subconscious" (O. Andreev) - the publication of one of the largest centers for the development of attention and memory. From here you can learn about the main secrets and phenomena in the work of the human brain. In addition, there are exercises that will help to identify the presence of certain abilities and develop them in the right direction.
  • "The Mystery of Hypnosis" (D. Coates, E. Bertram) tells about the history of hypnosis from ancient times to the present day. There is also a practical guide to developing these abilities.
  • "Loneliness of Zombies and Mental Magic" (I. Zinchenko, N. Listvinskaya) is the story of a strong magician, sentenced to a lonely existence. Despite the artistic bias of this work, there are many useful information for practicing mentalists.

Mental tricks and their exposure

It is worth noting that magic is not always used to adjust the scenarios for the development of events. Many people use such a phenomenon as mental magic to achieve popularity. Magic tricks are associated not only with sleight of hand, but also with the ability to capture the attention of the audience.

It is worth noting that miracles can be demonstrated with or without props. Exposing your favorite mental magic tricks is presented in the table.

Trick nameDescriptionExposure
Cut acesThe essence of the trick is that, quickly shuffling the deck, the mentalist throws out 4 aces, and puts the remaining cards aside. Next, each of the selected cards must be cut. Give one part of the halves to the viewer, and mix the other. Now you place one of the halves on the table and ask your opponent to do the same using your set. The halves must match.Mixing the halves of the aces, the mentalist, without showing signs, must study them carefully. As if at random, he puts one on the table (face down), and the subject - down. If the halves do not match right away, continue the experiment until the opponent places on the table desired card... Now, with sleight of hand, you flip the cards so that the halves match.
Four choicesThe magician carefully shuffles the deck of cards and spreads it face down in a ribbon. Now the viewer must put the tip of his finger on any card and separate it from the rest. The mentalist removes the rest of the cards aside, after taking out 2 more cards and giving them to the viewer. He has to stack them and rip them twice. All this time you are with your back to the viewer. Next, he must throw the scraps of cards into the bag offered by you. Having mixed the scraps well, the master takes out 4 at random, which make up the map initially chosen by the viewer.The secret is that the top two cards were prepared in advance. In each corner, a speck is made with a pin, which helps to recognize the desired fragments. And the map chosen by the viewer will be completely smooth.
The bill that rolls upAfter putting down the bill, the magician begins to make bizarre movements with his hands, without touching it. As a result, the banknote rolls up on its own.In fact, the bill should be stitched in advance with a barely noticeable line, the end of which is in the hands of the magician.

conclusions

For many centuries mankind has been intrigued by specially guarded secrets of predictions, mental magic. Their exposure is not as mysterious and inexplicable as it might seem at first glance. The secret lies in constantly training in control of your words and thoughts, which are embedded in a kind of life code. Thus, the mentalist has the opportunity to influence not only his own life, but also the fate and behavior of others.

Of course, the innate ability to manipulate, hypnosis or foresight play an important role. Nevertheless, persistent pursuits can lead to the success of even a person who by nature does not have such inclinations. It is extremely important to combine the study of theoretical literature with practical training. They can be carried out independently or with the participation of the subject.

Having achieved some success in mental magic, you can program not only your own destiny, but also the behavior of other people. Knowing how to read their thoughts and influence their course, you can achieve significant success in a particular field of activity. Particularly successful mentalists can subjugate several thousand people in different parts of the world.

How do we get higher?
Learn more about yourself,
What instinct do we still have,
What kind of Ego creatures are in you,

Emotions come first
And there is not enough strength for them,
They will make you suffer
As long as you are weak and instinctive

Astral body longs for feelings
Desires drove you crazy
You want feelings, more and more feelings
But, the sensual side has dulled,

Just a thought will help you get out
From the circle of the eternal - I want
You must increase yourself
Namely the mental path

Body pumping - wisdom, knowledge,
It will help you to settle,
Your mental anguish
By the power of the mind, to warn

When you take it, you are the forces of the Mental,
By order you can curb yourself
By the power of the Mind - by the mental energy,
You will be able to curb the Astral body - feelings, desires.

A person has an aura, it consists of several shells, which Esotericists call bodies.
The physical body is our flesh, in this shell we exist on Earth.
Also, there is an Etheric shell or body - it is responsible for health.
All bodies except the physical are invisible, because they have no matter.
The next shell or body, called the Astral, is a body of desires, feelings, sensations, we form its quality, living on Earth, going through training processes. The quality of our Astral body depends on our reaction to what is happening.
If a person is often in a depressed state, irritation, anger, hatred, then according to the philosophical law - like attracts like, he attracts negative energy to himself, to build the Astral body. As a result, apart from annoying everyone, nothing will happen.
And vice versa, if a person rejoices in the success of others, he is warm-hearted, polite, understanding, or simply loves the world, then he attracts very good subtle energy to himself to build the Astral body.
This is very important for life outside the body. When we have to part with physical body, we go to the Astral world, we find ourselves in a region that is identical with our Astral body.
An evil person will be attracted to a very unharmonious world filled with people like him. A kind person who controls his emotions and thoughts falls into a very high, thin section of the Astral world, because he has a very high range of the Astral body. Everything happens according to the same philosophical law - like attracts like.
The next body is Mental, it is formed when a person thinks, first on everyday topics, attracting such energy to build a Mental body, and then you need to move on to philosophical thinking, this is the next stage of development.
The mental shell, this body - Mind, wisdom, is the magical ability to influence first oneself, and then others.
In our world, a lot of abundance, entertainment is available to a person, and therefore, the power of the Astral body is ahead of the power of the Mental body, because true knowledge is hidden and vices are imposed.
A person constantly desires something, but as Buddha said: All suffering in a person comes from constant and untimely desires.
That is, a modern person, for the most part, has an Astral body of feelings much stronger than a Mental body (mind) of the mind, which can resist and explain to a person that he does not need it, is not acceptable, or even these desires spoil him.
In other words, the Astral body is developed at a C grade, the Mental body at a C grade, it turns out that there is not enough strength to influence oneself with the help of the mind.
This means that you need to develop the Mental body, for a start, in order to balance them in strength, Astral and Mental (3 to 3), this will make it possible to harmonize and take control of yourself with the help of the mind, and as you know, the mind works wonders. You can put yourself in order by logic and by order to control your low manifestations, whims, demands and other desires.
The etheric body, which is responsible for health, can also be developed by looking after your health.
These bodies are, those riches not perishable about which Jesus spoke, barokhlo will eat moth and rust, and these bodies will help you exist in another, afterlife, and in your next incarnation, exactly the same etheric, astral and mental bodies that you create exactly now living and forming them on Earth, you will receive. That is why these riches are not perishable. There is no need to build them again, you will start with what you created yourself, in a past life.
Hence, the task modern man, develop the Mental body, it is formed faster if you study esoteric philosophy by analyzing, reflecting on what you read.

Institute for Human Spiritual Development:

Chapter 5

Mental life

At this stage, we have a certain method of mentally considering the objective and subjective realms of existence. The universe is a system of natural objects and mental entities that are individually made known to us through consciousness. Every thing and every individual is interconnected in this universal system. The objective world seems to be composed of independent forms and rigid substances. However, all forms are transitory. Dense matter disintegrates into invisible gases and chemical elements, and we do not find anything permanent until we turn to the sphere of invisible and constant Force in action, which opens up through all these changing forms. Matter is eternal to the extent that it belongs to the universe, which manifests itself through the Reality existing in itself. It obeys the law because this Reality is unchanging. It has no meaning for us until we begin to look at it as a part of the self-conscious and objectified life of God Himself - God who is immanently present in the world, in evolution, and in the human soul.

Reality, revealed through the outer and inner worlds, is thus one. Everything exists because of the presence of God, and we who exist in Him know His manifestations only partially. We don't just feel matter as composed of various objects. We do not just have sensations of light, warmth and cold. Feelings do not come directly to the soul. The feeling that we get from the subject must be transferred to the idea. We feel, as well as are aware of what we are feeling, some of the forms of the world. The simple act of sensation and cognition implies the existence not only of an objective world from which our feelings come, but also of a conscious being, for which this world is made known. These words themselves become understandable to the reader only to the extent that they invoke ideas that follow one after another in his mind. The reader reflects on ideas, associating them with conscious experiences that have already been made clear.

Even a materialist who claims that only matter exists, appeals to reason. By putting some ideas together, he gets a frame of reference. This system, which is a habitual way of thinking, colors all his conscious experiences. Forgetting about the nature of ideas, the materialist proclaims that mind is nothing more than a product of the interaction of matter. But even this statement contains some rejection of materialism. By the very recognition that this product of interaction is conscious, it asserts consciousness as a fundamental fact of existence. It includes everything that we are, everything that we desire, know and feel, the entire universe, as well as the Great Thinker.

It is important to note the fact that part of everything that is visible, heard, felt and experienced in other ways by a person can be attributed to his understanding - from the moment the discriminating consciousness is awakened. The world becomes clear to him from the moment when he develops enough to understand it. Gradually, his emotions and knowledge begin to play an ever larger role in his life, until he develops a personal atmosphere around him that projects himself into the objective world. At times, reason gives way to feelings and imagination, but thoughts have the greatest influence. A real person is one who leads the life of reason.

These facts are often forgotten, and that is why it is important to constantly repeat and emphasize them. A person does not remember that he is a soul with a body, that he is basically a conscious being contemplating various ideas influenced by thoughts. Whether he realizes it or not, a certain idea always dominates in him. He is always dedicated to something. He gives shape to his life and controls it through thought. But, since the influence of thought is constant, and this is a fact of common experience, a person is often not aware of his mental strength and influence. It seems to him that he is leading a purely material life, allowing matter to prevail over him. But even so, his behavior is governed by faith. As a conscious being, he cannot be ruled by anything less than consciousness. Every act of behavior is bound by the direction of the mind. The mind shapes behavior by attracting whatever matches a desire or thought to itself, just as a magnet attracts iron particles. Since this fact is not always completely obvious, it is useful to consider the influence of thought over a long period of time. This aspect of human experience can be of the greatest help in solving the problems of everyday life.

Up to this point, our discussions have been abstract. But now we turn to reasoning that allows testimonies to be followed more easily. All that is required in order to direct the mind in the direction of unlimited evidence is to give it an impetus in that direction. In the deepest sense, all of our thinking and behavior is governed by the direction of the mind. Most of all, we need a new perspective. We always strive to free ourselves from the enslaving tendencies of the mind. Whenever we are “bewitched,” or have a bout of melancholy, we know in retrospect that we’ve gone in the wrong direction. All our unwanted states, everything from which we seek to free ourselves, belongs, at least in part, to our mind. By changing our minds, we also change our behavior. Perhaps your son or daughter, whom you wish to see free, is "on the wrong track." If you convince them to look at the situation differently, their behavior will change. A dogmatic friend who abandons reasoning will respond to love and a new vision will come to him with love. Looking in this way throughout life, we can see examples of the operation of this law.

Artificial methods of reasoning, which we talked about earlier, represent the direction of movement away from life. Our goal is to return to life. The duality of the human self consists in upward and downward tendencies in the consideration of the facts of life. Pessimism is a downward trend in consciousness, a focus on the flesh. But the whole world changes for us when we acquire a sublime vision. The same is the case with the conclusions we received in the previous chapter. When we, in the process of thinking, place ourselves in the conscious world, we can look at our surroundings without being enslaved by it. Starting from consciousness, we come to an objective vision of the world. Analysis removes the blinders from our eyes, allowing us to see ourselves as we really are in the act of life, without following materialistic ideas about who we should be. In our youth, we thought we were free. Starting to think, we come to the conclusion that instead of an objective view of things, we contemplated the world as the usual state of mind made it.

The impression that a particular experience leaves on us largely depends on our opinion of it. Let a group of people with different tastes, prejudices, and backgrounds read an in-depth book, listen to a speaker with clear ideas, or attend a popular entertainment event, and their comments will demonstrate a significant variety of opinions. Diametrically opposed views on political, religious and philosophical issues have existed since the time man began to think. All over the world, people are divided into groups, parties and sects based on differences of opinion. Each sect offers its opinions as truth. All over the place, people show an amazing willingness to be influenced by opinions. Thousands of people make their lives miserable, adhering to dogmatic theology about the sinfulness of man and the afterlife. Many suffer from blind faith in the opinions of doctors. Gullibility is one of the most weaknesses a person, especially as regards mental life. Because of her, many of the weak were under the control of intelligent, strong and unprincipled people. From time to time, each person is deceived by showing a willingness to blindly believe rather than reason. The influence of prejudice is so subtle that only the most sober-minded and discerning people can be free from them.

We are so accustomed to obeying certain ideas that we are little aware of their power over us. The fact that "the world is as we make it" escapes our attention. We are born with a set of ideas. We come into the world as members of sects and parties in which theory, practice and prejudice are one and the same. Our religion, our education, our fears are all prepared for us by the minds of other people. Everything encourages us to develop in the direction prescribed by tradition, and to have our own ideas is considered almost blasphemous. Even if a person subsequently begins to show independence, it is almost impossible for him to discard all deeply rooted opinions and prejudices.

We rarely stop to question our beliefs. Prejudice prevents us from doing this. As a rule, people prefer to accept opinions without trying to prove or disprove them. The need to reason and prove something makes them bored - and this is very sad. It never seems to them that it occurs to them that a person is truly free and confident in his individuality and truth only as long as he continues to keep pace with the rational progress of thought. The tendency to think for yourself is the healthiest and most beneficial quality in a person. It's sad that she breaks down in childhood when the whole system traditional religion tries to shape a person's beliefs for him. Only if an original and trusting thinker appears, breaking the rigid attachment to tradition, the world acquires new values. The scientist, free from sectarianism and bias, is a fairly late product of evolution. But even he is often narrow-minded, excluding from consideration all facts that go beyond the boundaries of natural science, just as a conservative is deaf to radical doctrines. The love of truth for most of us is not yet strong enough to lead to the search for universal truth, and not for specific opinions. We think we know. Bias blinds our eyes at every turn. We give preference to a person or a sect, as if they had a monopoly on truth, while even a superficial analysis would show that truth is universal. Truth is included in the nature of all things and all people, and it cannot depend on the fact that some person expresses it, or some sect glorifies it.

The big revelation for many people is that much of their life is controlled by fear. Fear is part of many religions. He is behind the research bias. He directs daily behavior. As a race of humans, we are fearful. As we imagine various disasters in our minds, we are in awe of the worst. The sensational press constantly publishes materials that increase the feeling of fear. We are afraid to eat many foods. With our fear, we bring ourselves into a state that forces us to accept exactly what we are afraid of. Fear is a kind of opinion. It goes back to our willingness to believe instead of thinking for ourselves.

A person who knows the law and obeys it without fear, be he a scientist or a seer, in a certain sense builds his own world from within. Our world is our ability to interpret it. The artist discovers qualities in the outside world that do not really exist for other people. He notices light and shadow, certain curves in the landscape, and an endless variety of transformations during the four seasons. An Ice Age scientist will be able to see evidence of eras of earth's history in stone, which the average farmer would find a useless hindrance. Even the beautiful Alps were considered by people to be only an obstacle to trade routes before the ability to appreciate beauty developed in them. The same scene will be viewed differently by a novelist, historian, soldier, businessman, and savage. There are numerous aspects in it, the significance of which depends on the level of training and the goals of the observer. It can be comic or tragic, evoke feelings of joy, sorrow, consolation, horror, annoyance, pity, and also evoke different ideas for different people. These aspects may have some basis in facts, but facts do not create a complete picture of the external world.

The difference we emphasize goes deeper than the difference in the education of observers. There are natural tastes, preferences, dislikes, inclinations, attachments of people, so the proverb "that one is food, then another is poison" is equally applicable to the inner world. Passion colors the world according to its nature and intensity. Experiences, theories and emotions are different from each other, and they project themselves into every fact of the surrounding life. One person can be an incorrigible optimist despite all life experiences that bring pain and unhappiness. The other may be no less persistent in his pessimism. The third person may be so prejudiced that he fails to look at anything objectively, including his own bias.

The truth is that the world is immense, and the Highest Reality is known to us only partially, to the extent that our experience has revealed it. The difference in our interpretation of the world lies in us. There are serious doubts as to whether the limitations of temperament will ever be overcome, whether life can be described beyond the boundaries of human experience. Human individuality is probably God's fundamental purpose. If this is true, then it is the responsibility of each person to cultivate their individuality, to discover what God wants to accomplish through it, in knowing those aspects of life that a person can best interpret. The deep life of the mind must replace the superficial world of opinion. The dogmas and views of other people should be ignored until a person, in the process of deep reflection, learns to determine the divine meaning of life.

The individual thinker penetrates in his mental analysis deeper and deeper, until his consciousness is intertwined with the consciousness of the whole life of the Universal Thinker. Knowing the objective world, studying the influence of opinions, prejudices, education and temperament, he is convinced that he lives in the mind. But now he is discovering an even deeper reason, taking a step from the effects of consciousness to a greater understanding of his relationship with the Universal.

The distinction between one person and another is thus fundamental. In order to make this clear, you can try to imagine yourself in the place of another. Even with regard to our family and close friends, such a transition is not possible. There is an aspect in the other person's experience that we cannot grasp. That is why they cannot be ours. What is personality, where did it come from and what does it mean? Your world and my world are eminently different. But, whatever the many aspects of the personality represented in people, it is likely that it comes from a single source, changing depending on the circumstances. There are individual and social aspects of the self that involve a wide range of thoughts and emotions. There are conscious and subconscious aspects of the self through which we view ideas in their various aspects until they become fixed habits of thought. There is an elusive and ephemeral "I" that reveals itself in an endless variety of moods, opinions and feelings. There is also a permanent “I” that we call the word “soul” - a deep consciousness that is in close relationship with the Higher Self.

Some aspects of the self are always the highest. It is them, and not the superficial vibrations of the mind and feelings, that we consider first of all. On the one hand, we receive impressions from the world of matter. On the other hand, thoughts and impulses come to us from the realm of the mind. Connecting in consciousness, they form the world of mental life, our interpretation of the great whole, of which we are a part. At the very center, there is a person. On the one hand, everything that a person sees seems material to him. On the other hand, everything appears to him as reason. The unity of matter and mind is found only in the consciousness of "I", which transcends both of these mental directions.

Another important aspect of our mental life is beautifully outlined in an article by Ruben Post Halek entitled "Personal Equation and the Truth About Man." She points out that “our actions do not evoke the same feelings in us as similar actions on the part of other people. Selfish emotions, to a greater or lesser extent, are inherent in all of us. Selfishness inevitably overshadows the truth. When we do something, we consider it perfectly normal. But the same act of another sometimes causes indignation in us. A person with a high moral ideal can, for example, blame a neighbor for sin, who on the resurrection works in his country house... But suppose that on the next Sunday a man arrives who intends to purchase from our moralist a few land plots, and we see that he begins to zealously woo the prospective buyer. If we remind him that he neglects the sanctity of Sunday, he will be very angry! Workers often speak with hatred and bitterness of the policy of the industrialist trusts, and yet they themselves unite with the trusts for the same purposes - for the sake of profit and the fight against competition. For example, they forcefully prevent outsiders from accessing their jobs, even if their children may go hungry. Why, then, does the group egoism of the workers not arouse the same indignation in them as the egoism of the industrialists? One woman I knew expressed sincere resentment that her club had accepted a member who was not fully qualified. But less than a week later, she petitioned the board of the club to accept her friend, who also did not meet all the conditions! For a moment she did not think about the illogicality of her behavior. Very often, people say, "If I did what she did, she would be beside herself with anger!" The same can often be said about them. They trusted others with their secrets, feeling betrayed after those secrets became public knowledge. But there are few people in the world who did not share with other secrets entrusted to them. "

“It's safe to say that selfish emotions do not encompass mathematical truths. They are not flexible. They are false. Such statements, which people make, often cannot be used in classrooms. For example, one well-known lawyer told me: “Now, I am busy with the case of compensation for material damage. Any damage that is the subject of the proceedings must be mathematically evaluated. The damage to my client is, say, four, the sum of two and two. The problem, however, is that adding two and two for himself makes five! The opposite defender, on the other hand, adds two and two to make three. If most people didn’t allow their emotions to lead them to wrong conclusions, I would have gotten rid of much of my judicial practice... And if people were convinced that the selfishness of others would not allow them to gain an advantage at their expense when given the opportunity, then I would have lost even more of my practice. ”

“The fact that there is no doubt is that our own actions do not cause in us the same emotions as similar actions of others. This is one of the most unusual psychological truths. The reason for this behavior, apparently, is a legacy from the previous stages of human evolution, when brute force was his only right. This legacy is still a beam in the eye of the people. Perhaps for a long time we will continue to excuse our actions, as well as the actions of our friends, harshly criticizing our enemies for the same deeds. We see a similar trend in animals. A large and strong dog will take a bone from a starving dog. Rich president railroad, having assembled a board of directors, can draw up a plan to ruin a rival road, despite the fact that its shares are the only capital for many orphans. These men would undoubtedly be full of anger and rage if someone tried to rob their children. They themselves steal others from their children, without any remorse. Progress in mental development often only intensifies this tendency. Napoleon was undoubtedly a very intelligent man. Trust supporters, who are like many-headed hydras, are very smart people... Nevertheless, it is true that when a person acquires the habit of reflecting on his actions, when he consciously strives to take a neutral position, he learns to look at his affairs through the eyes of another person. By putting himself in the shoes of those people whom his actions may cause harm or inconvenience, he gradually gets rid of the inheritance of a primitive and cruel person. But only one who has a vivid imagination, either natural or acquired, can achieve real success. Children, who are taught from an early age to view each of their actions from the point of view of those affected by it, take the "royal road" by following which they can defeat this tendency. A successful businessman recently said that he would not want his children to be taught such truths, because an excessively humane upbringing would deprive them of their advantage in the struggle for existence. "

“True concepts are not only hindered by people with selfish feelings. Research shows that the reason for the slow progress lies in the hidden foundations of the human soul. All emotions are characterized by ambivalence in relation to thinking and the search for truth. On the one hand, emotions evoke interest in us in relation to any business. Thus, they are necessary so that we can jealously adhere to certain thoughts for a long time. On the other hand, there is a distorting force that is invariably present at the center of any mental process. A strong desire to prove a certain theory leads many honest people to start looking at facts through colored glasses. So, for example, it can be dangerous to see a doctor who tends to see symptoms of the disease he specializes in treating. "

But besides this distorting force, there are many other aspects of mental life. To consider them is to inevitably enter the realm of the abnormal, mystical and doubtful. However, no analysis inner life cannot be complete without recourse to their role. The analysis of hypnosis reveals many truths about the nature of the mind. The mind is more susceptible to hypnotic suggestion than to human opinion. Opinion, however, often comes in the form of suggestion, bringing with it a hypnotic influence. So-called spoken word magnetism is often more effective than logical reasoning. The strong mind gains control over the weak; positive leaders attract negative minds. Thus, new dogmas are formed. Knowing the power of suggestion makes the danger even greater. By itself, hypnotism becomes a cult, and countless varieties of occultism and spiritualism follow. Only decision for those who would like to know the truth, practically lost in the mystical labyrinth - to undertake research, similar to that carried out by FV Meyer.

It is clear to us that in the shadow of the conscious "I" lies a huge subconscious, or "subliminal" sphere. Moreover, we see that sound reasons human life often lost sight of under the influence of false theories. Meyer and James say that most people fail to see the line between spiritually attractive and psychologically unhealthy views.

Without going deep into the study of the phenomenon of telepathy, the influence of the mind on the mind, as well as the mind on the body, we will only note that these phenomena indicate the existence of deeper laws than are known to us. There are influences in the inner life of a person that are superior to those that science has usually considered. Our theories force us to set clear boundaries where there is actually a gradual transition. Considering mind and matter as phases of being, smoothly passing into each other, we move away from the usual view of the relationship between mind and matter that has existed since the time of Descartes. According to his views, mind and matter are sharply opposed. On the other hand, there are leading psychologists who still believe in the causal effectiveness of consciousness. For example, read the chapter "The Theory of Autonomy" in Professor James' wonderful psychological work. This question is too broad for us to address here. The reader can reject our earlier assumptions about the close interaction of mind and body, and still follow the general direction of the chapter, which is that there are deep, as yet unexplored riches of mental life. Whatever the nature of hazy experiences in the far reaches of our ordinary consciousness, these experiences play an important role in the inner life, and, therefore, they must be taken into account in this discussion.

Now that psychology has become one of the natural sciences, considering mental states in close interaction with bodily states, we have additional reasons for the free exploration of inner life. The hypothesis most useful for action research is the popular belief that mind and body interact. By bringing forces into action, a person is convinced in practice which doctrines are true. Experimenting means being convinced that there are many more courses of action and spheres of mental influence than modern psychology recognizes. It may be necessary to examine in detail the statements of the so-called "pseudosciences", to turn to the controversial statements of Theosophy and Spiritualism. At least, the consequence of this approach will be the formation of a psychology of belief in these phenomena. The true science of the inner life of a person, having examined the entire range of psychic influences, must place on its borders the signs: "Theosophy begins here"; "This is the path of development of Hindu yogis"; “Then follow the spirits of the great dead, always ready for communion”; "This road leads to spiritualism."

When such a topography of the inner world is established, a person will finally be able to separate the normal from the abnormal. He realizes that there is nothing terrible in the inner world. Knowledge is power, and by seeing the mental state, we gain mastery over it. There are probably important facts that we can learn from a deeper understanding of the occult. But how valuable is such research? People who are deeply and zealously interested in helping humanity, or who are in love with the religious life, confidently say no. The best that a person learns from such "excursions" is an acquaintance with initial stages occultism, through which he gains experience in order to warn others about possible danger. Nowadays, there are many people who mistakenly believe that practicing the occult helps to gain great powers, and therefore it is necessary to often warn that they are mistaken. There is no "hidden wisdom" secretly passed down through the ages that matches one ounce of common sense.

The inner life is not mysterious. We all use mental powers, and in the light of day they appear to be perfectly healthy. The challenge before us is to use these powers more wisely. If there are hidden activities that have a positive impact, and we can enhance them through conscious control, common sense will push us to do so. A person can wait until researchers figure out the path of development. hidden resources before straying far from the usual intellectual activity and zealous Christian life.

A psychologist who uses logic to exclude from his research all mental states, except those directly related to brain function, of course, is not able to make an objective judgment about whether there are "higher" mental forces or not. In his narrow field, he is a good specialist. But a person in whose life there is room for mental spontaneity can become a specialist of a different kind. Its task is to discover what can be achieved through conscious mental action. Thus, the issue of mental influence on bodily states becomes of paramount importance for him.

The discovery of the intelligence of matter is of greater importance than the discovery of mental influence on bodily states. Many people are freed from the influence of feelings that they considered to be truly spiritual, through the realization that their condition was painful. Professor James cautions that we should not judge by pathological conditions, but by values, results and final conclusions. Unfortunately, the physiological state is often still mistaken for "spiritual". No other field of research promises to be more fruitful than the connection between mental processes and physiological states. People are already beginning to come to the conclusion that a number of crimes are the direct result of diseases of the body. Perhaps all our studies of crime and insanity have been based on the wrong premises. When we begin to realize how powerless the mind is to change the mental states in which most people were born, we shed new light on the issue of crime prevention. The average person is a product of physical impulses and passions. We are just on the verge of a century of self-control. The age of reason, which is a higher stage of development, is still far ahead.
