Do-it-yourself brick wall laying

The quality and speed of how a brick wall is laid with your own hands does not always depend on the skill of a bricklayer. It is very important to prepare a quality mortar for masonry, as well as to apply the desired laying method.

Masonry can be divided into the following methods - butt, press, butt with pruning and semi-butt (backfill).

Before choosing a masonry method, it is necessary to take into account the plasticity of the mortar, the moisture content of the brick, the time of year, as well as the requirements for the facade. In the article we will consider in more detail the methods listed above.

Back-to-back masonry

With such masonry, a layer of mortar should be applied in a uniform layer. It is necessary to leave a small ridge at the edges of the walls for future filling of vertical joints. For spoon rows, the solution must be applied with a distance of 2-2.5 cm from the walls and a layout of the solution by about 7-8 cm. 5-3 cm. To perform end-to-end laying, you need to take 2 bricks and lay them flat with an inclination at a distance of about 10 cm from the already laid bricks. Slowly turning, you should move the bricks to the previously laid ones, during this, a bed of mortar appears in front of the front ribs, which fills the vertical and horizontal seams. Clamp masonry

In this way, you can lay both bonded and spoon bricks. Do-it-yourself mortar for laying a brick wall is prepared quite hard. The mortar should be leveled for several bricks at once. For example, for five bonders and three spoons. From the wall you need to observe an indent of 10-15 cm.

The installation order is as follows. A brick is taken in one hand, and the mortar needs to be leveled with the other. A small part of the already lying mortar is raked up and it must be pressed with a trowel to the edge of the already laid brick. Then the new brick is laid and moves a little towards the previous laid brick. And after that, the remaining excess solution should be removed. This type of masonry brick walls is quite laborious, but it is also the most durable. Read also on your own.

Brick wall with undercut

This method is used during the complete filling of the seams and their subsequent jointing. The mortar should be laid in exactly the same way as the pressing method, observing an indent of 10-15 cm, and the brick must be laid similar to the butt method. Excess solution is also removed. The solution is also prepared hard. If you prepare a plastic mortar, then it will become more difficult to remove it during the installation of the brick. In terms of complexity, this method can be placed between the butt and clamp methods.

Brick wall masonry

This method of laying a brick wall can be described as follows. The solution must be applied between the inner and outer verst. After that, it needs to be leveled and the bricks laid in the backfill. Laying can be carried out simultaneously 2 bricks. At a distance of about 8 cm from the bricks already laid, the bricks of the mortar are fenced with an edge, and after that it is pressed against the bricks already installed earlier. In the event that the vertical seams are poorly filled, then fully fill them during the subsequent laying. But the transverse seams must be filled completely.

Do not forget to stretch the moorings, which will be guidelines for ensuring the straightness and horizontal laying of the rows.

It is necessary to place the cord every 5 meters, in order to avoid sagging. The mooring for the outer walls is fixed in order, and at the inner walls it is carried out with the help of brackets.

How the mooring cord is arranged:

There is a certain sequence of laying a brick wall with your own hands - multi-row and single-row. With a single-row layout, the outer walls are laid first, and then the inner and filling. And during multi-row laying, bricks are laid in a mixed or stepped way.

At the time of work, the availability of bricks and mortar should be ensured so that there is no fuss and there is the possibility of calm work. This significantly allows you to increase the speed of laying bricks with your own hands. Here, in principle, all the stages are disassembled.
