Variants of the literary language, which are determined by various areas of communication, are called functional styles of speech (see ticket No. 27). 3 Classification of vowels and consonants. Strong and weak positions of sounds

Speech sounds are studied in a branch of linguistics called phonetics. All speech sounds are divided into two groups: vowels and consonants. Vowel sounds can be in strong and weak positions . All the words of a language form its vocabulary, or vocabulary. The branch of language science that studies the vocabulary of a language is called lexicology. The lexical meaning of a word is the main idea that we think about when we pronounce a word, the semantic content of the word, which is equally understood by people speaking a given language.

Words that have ceased to be used in everyday life due to the disappearance of the corresponding concepts are called obsolete, for example: chain mail, smerd, serf, mayor, policeman, guard. Natalya Guseva was very interested in this case, so she decided to devote her whole life to studying the Russian language and Sanskrit.
